Holiday Inn Chicago North - Gurnee
Welcome to the Holiday Inn Chicago North / Gurnee we are located near the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Anyone coming to do business with Abbott Labs and Abbvie will find our location is the perfect spot to stay. For those looking to host a meeting our Grand Ballroom has 10,000 square feet of flexabile meeting space. We are conveniently located near the Genesee Theater, Lambs Farm, Lake County Forest Preserves, and Waukegan Field House.
Our accommodations also offer free WiFi, parking, and use of our business center. You can lounge by our indoor heated pool or keep up with your exercise routine in our fitness center. All Suites are equipped with a microwave, mini refrigerator, Keurig, and a 43' flat screen TV. We have 15 suites with hide a bed sofas in each.

Absent Mgmt, Bad Plumbing

Stayed at the end of December for a few nights. Had no hot water for most of that time. Moved rooms twice. Second room also had no hot water AND had burnt out light bulbs. Third room finally had hot water. Staff was unfriendly and difficult, complaining that I'd used rewards points as though that somehow negates my need for hot water in December. Never any mention or acknowledgement of my rewards status. Asked to speak to mgmt and was told they were on vacation. Filed a complaint through IHG corporate and was promised that mgmt would reach out. It has been 4 months with no word from them.
Our last night we made arrangements for a late check out. Despite this, the staff came to the room that morning, even before the normal check out time, and tried to kick us out, shoving some form in my face and demanding that I pay for another night. I refused and told them I would not be checking out until the agreed time.

Disappointing all around

We were very uncomfortable with our visit. We had no warm/hot water. We found food on the floor of our room from the past guest. We also had ants in our bathroom.

Not a good example of Holiday Inn Express

I stay at Holiday Inn Express because of their quality and cleanliness and friendly staff, this location failed on all three even after taking into account that they were remodeling. I recommend IHG and Holiday Inn Express but avoid this location.

Welcome to the newly renovated Candlewood Suites NE Stafford. We offer rooms with modern amenities a countertop stove, fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you might need, a microwave, and a full-size refrigerator. You can easily do your laundry any time of the day (or night) in our courtesy laundry room, you can also buy detergents, Clorox and fabric softener at our convenient front desk store. Please enjoy our well-equipped gym open 24 hours a day, even on the weekends!!

Old Hotel with poor service

The location is great. Unfortunately, that is about all we can say. The hotel is old. The hallways and rooms smell like something was sprayed to mask odors. The TV was old and small. The lighting was poor. We stayed 2 nights, but never received any service to the room. The front desk staff were very friendly.

Unbelievable noise and loud gusts

Stop did not handle a situation where another guest was unbelievably noisy in the middle of the night. Someone was jumping running sounded like a huge exercise Maniac was in the room above me there were no acceptable actions taken to stop it and I was so tired that I couldn't even function horrible situation the clerk did not know how to handle the situation there was no management to call no one to talk to about it that had any Authority unbelievable that this kind of activity could happen in a hotel room I can't even imagine the kind of people that would let this happen in their room it was beyond anything that I could even imagine would go on in a hotel . IT kept me from getting sleep that affected my ability to function for the next two days

DBL BOOKED ROOM

The staff dbl booked our room and a man entered our room with my child in it. And it turns out we were in his room. It was a scary situation. All I could think about was me protecting my child. I was so glad we weren't sleeping at the time. We are 2 females alone in a hotel room and a man enters your room, how would you feel as a woman and mother? It was nerve wracking.

A modern Northampton hotel within easy reach of the town centre, with a smart restaurant and excellent event facilities.
Holiday Inn® Northampton hotel is less than 10 minutes drive from central Northampton and well situated for exploring the surrounding countryside. The M1 is an eight-minute drive away, and it is less than three miles to Northampton Railway Station. You can reach London Luton Airport (LTN) and Birmingham Airport (BHX) in less than an hour by car. Buses stop just steps from the hotel and parking is free for all guests.
Pop into Northampton to browse its shops, eateries and cultural spots such as Northampton Museum and Art Gallery. Within half an hour by car from the hotel, you can explore the gardens at Woburn Abbey, tour Althorp Estate or watch motor racing at Silverstone.

I won't give them a Third chance!

After my previous stay in late March, where I had to move rooms 4 times and other issues, that all started because the original room, (186) had a broken TV, the Food & Banqueting Manager, Bob, phoned and apologised, promising that he would ensure I was upgraded, (as per my IHG Rewards status), and he assured me that he would not let the issues happen again.
Imagine my shock when I arrived and was allocated room 186 again! And the TV WAS STILL BROKEN!
When i went back to reception and advised what the F&B manager had promised, a lady came out of the back office and said to the receptionist, "Rather than move him, go and fix the TV." When I said where is the F&B manager who had made the offer to me, I was told he was off sick and they knew nothing about it.
So I then had to spend 20 minutes standing in reception whilst the staff tried to fix the TV!! Not ideal after a 4 hour drive! I told Bob I would give them a second chance, as the hotel is really close to my head office where I spend a lot of time. But they won't get a Third chance, I will use an alternative hotel. The main issue is, that they constantly say "Join IHG Rewards" and the benefits for the level I am includes a room upgrade, but even with further issues they refused to offer this as a solution. Terrible Customer Service again!
