Outdate gym and always late breakfast

Gym in the hotel is very very outdated, machines were bought many years ago and they are not good. Im a gym enthusiast and I dont need a lot to have a good workout but the hotel gym is just bad.
Breakfast - even though the breakfast starts at 6:30, eggs / bacon / other cooked things were never there at this time and you had to wait atleast 10-15 minutes. I was working early so those 10-15 minutes meant a lot to me.
No watermelon for breakfast in Mexico is a disaster. One of the favorite fruits around the world is not offered for breakfast.

Just a short drive to Silicon Valley and Oakland International Airport, our business hotel in Union City provides guests with spacious rooms and suites and wonderful amenities. 12,000 square feet and 11 event spaces provide the perfect backdrop for social and business events. When staying at Crowne Plaza Silicon Valley N Union City, you can easily explore all the East Bay has to offer since you'll be just a short drive from San Jose, San Francisco, Milpitas, and Fremont. Tour local universities, like UC Berkeley or California State University East Bay, before going shopping at Union Landing. Families can visit Oakland Zoo and Great America, while art enthusiasts can browse the exhibits at the Berkeley Art Museum.

The overall environment of the hotel is clean. However, this is an old hotel.
The room carpet is dingy, the window drapes are so dirty, I don't think they have ever been washed since they were hung.
No microwave in the room or to rent. There was only one microwave in the whole building!
The bathroom was not clean, the shower curtain was dingy.

The staff were unresponsive. I called them every night for extra blankets and pillows, but never received anything. Every time I called, I was told it would be delivered, but never did. Every night!. I even volunteered to go pick it up, but I was told that was unnecessary

We welcome you to stay at our Holiday Inn Express & Suites Buffalo, located in the heart of downtown near Roswell Park, John R. Oishei Children's Hospital, Buffalo General Hospital, Convention Center and Canalside. Hotel parking is offsite and available nearby at additional charge in parking garage.
Enjoy being nestled in the heart of the Theatre District, where you can experience a grand performance at Shea's Performing Arts Center or the Irish Classical Theatre. Take in a concert at the Town Ballroom or TRALF located within the same block or hop on the above ground trolley train to the Key Bank Center. We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. The quality of the hotel seems to be deteriorating. The last time we stayed the furnishings were worn down and I'm need of replacement. The most troubling issue during our stay was our inability to shower due to extremely low water pressure. Also, the breakfast items were not replenished in a timely fashion. I had to alert the staff that items were depleted.

Hit or miss

Check-in went fine and was fairly quick but when I got to my room I discovered that the tv did not have signal. I brought this to the front desks attention and they attempted to fix the problem but were unsuccessful. Also, the sofa in the room might be the most uncomfortable I’ve ever sat in. Will not be back.

Mixed emotions about my stay

While the staff, all staff, were friendly and professional, I believe that little attention is paid to ensuring rooms are really clean. I took pictures of stained curtains, sticky cupboard handles, and partially used soap pieces. The sink was stopped up and the ice maker did not work! Finally, the dispenser for liquid bath soap in the shower, was empty. Its obvious that no one bothered to provide basic care for the cleanliness and basic functions customers should be able to expect. A system for reporting things that need to be fixed should be in place. If the cleaning staff notices a clogged sink--REPORT IT!! Nasty curtains, take them down to be cleaned. These are easy to remedy issues that leave a lasting bad impression.

All the food I ate was less than warm. The scrambled eggs were burned.
Only one choice of breakfest meat - turkey.
Sorry to say the biscuits and gravy were very disappointing, the gravy tasted like flour and a water paste.

Too Many Defects

1. Key did not work had to be put in another room and it took quite a while.
2. AC was stuck on 65 and the control panel was broken.
3. No hot water in the shower.
I would not recommend this place to anyone nor book in one again. The people were nice, however,

Bed bugs in brand new rooms

Checked in and was given a different room type than I booked. I let it slide. Heat did not work in my room and they knew this because there is a sticker on the ac unit that says “heat does not work”. I let it slide. Woke up and realized I was sleeping with bed bugs. Went to check out. Showed hotel pictures. They did not give me a receipt like I requested and was told management would contact me. That never happened.

Excellent hotel but... they charge guests for parking.

The hotel is excellent — staff service, cleanliness, amenities, and super comfortable beds — everything deserves a 10 out of 10. However, I was surprised to find out that, despite being a guest, parking is charged. I didn’t like that, especially since I had stayed here in previous years and that wasn’t the case. I would recommend the hotel consider not charging guests for parking, or at least setting a minimal fee, to avoid this negative experience
