Under construction beware

So my first night I stayed I was woken up at 5:30AM to heavy footsteps. Continued until my chosen time to wake at 6:30. I asked to be moved from the 2nd floor only to be moved to the construction zone on the 3rd floor. Noise continued but I chose to stay as it was only a couple nights. Road traffic is very loud as its motorcycle season apparently and the social club next door likes to play music loudly, decent music but still distracting. The constant noise made it difficult to concentrate on computer work in the evening. The room was nice and the bathroom was nice but I will not ever stay here again.

One of the worst experiences in IC

As a regular IHG member and intercontinental ambassador, this Hotel is old and poorly maintained. Aircon loud noise and offered to sleep in another room. Drying string damage and moldy. Furniture old and wear off. Limited food choice in BF. Kid found bugs on the bed twice. Pricy compared to other hotel with such a facility. Far from intercontinental standard.

Reservation issues

First a little background:

We had every intention of leaving a high review of this motel, the room was nice & comfortable, the appliances in the room were high quality as well as the linens ... until we were told we HAD to leave as their records indicated we were to check out on 04/26/2025 or they would call the police to evict us! We were shocked!
My husband placed our reservation for 3 nights, 04-25-2025 thru 04-26-2025. Several days before we were to arrive we decided to add 1 day to our reservation. We changed our reservation to arrive on 04-24-2025.
We received an e-mail with our confirmation of 04-24-2025 thru 04-27-2025, confirmation # 20907718. We also have a recording of the phone call making & confirming this reservation. On the morning of 04-26-2025 we received a phone call (we were out) that we had to immediately leave the room or the police would be called. We were APPALLED! We had a verbal and email confirmation of our stay. We returned to the motel to discuss this matter and show a coy of the e-mail & play the recording for the manager on duty. She said her records were different and she had the room already reserved to someone else & there were no vacancies. The police were called, we explained the situation & so did the clerk on duty. The police said we HAD to get our belongings & leave! We were let into our room to collect our belongings (we had a LOT as we were expecting to be there for 4 days, as we were there to celebrate my HS Reunion. We were called twice while we were packing up to hurry. We had everything out of the room within 35 minutes We checked out and left w/o causing a scene, as that is not the type of people we are. We understood the Manager was only doing as she was told. We do feel she could have been nicer about the situation and not try to be so "threatening". The employee that opened our door to retrieve our belongings was extremely kind and showed empathy to us for our situation.
What we were told was that if a reservation is made for 3 nights and that reservation is changed (we changed it to 4 nights), the reservation is still only for 3 nights. We have NEVER heard of any such policy. That in order to have a reservation for 4 nights we would have had to cancel the 3 night reservation and make a new reservation for 4 nights. That would NOT have been a problem for us at all to do so ... IF we knew this was the policy. We do feel the personal should have the adequate training on how to handle such a situation.
IF this was their policy, no where on the website or our confirmation did it say any such thing. The manager on duty could not show us where this was stated. IF this is the policy of IHG we feel it should be placed on the website indicating so. We do feel that we should have been compensated somehow for our embarrassment and troubles in having to relocate to another motel for 1 night.
I hope but do doubt this will be placed on the website.
What started out as a wonderful trip and reunion turned out to be a very upsetting stay & ruining this once in a lifetime event.

Fuhr Sports Park, Glenn Hall Arena and Grant Fuhr Arena are in close proximity, as is the Horizon Stage Centre.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. This time the property seemed unkept. Our room on the second floor had a shade that was broken and wouldn’t open. There was hair on our bathroom floor. No mat for the tub which was super slippery when showering. We had a pet and had to go up and down the stairs with her rather than be on floor 1. the gentleman above us we could hear every footstep he took and he woke early in the morning.

I felt very uncomfortable,
The cleaning ladies left one day open the access doors to outside
then anyone from other rooms could access to my room.

Also last night there was a guy in front of the gym juts standing there and he ask me if I could help to open other dorm. I was going to my room.

I would not stay at this facility if you have pets with you. They won’t clean your room if your pets aren’t caged (cruel to cage them for 8hours) and even after you remove your pets so they can clean your room, they won’t do it.
