We lead busy lives in London so the chance to get away is always very special and this year our plan was to chill out by the beach and catch up on our reading.
The InterContinental Hotel in Koh Samui delivered all our expectations and I would highly recommend the hotel. It is away from the busy part side of the island and they have a small beach and various swimming pools scattered around the venue.
Our room was wonderful, for those English people there was even a kettle to make a cup of tea. We had a great view of the Gulf of Thailand from our room.
Despite the number of food outlets was limited I cannot say it was an issue. Amber or Flames for dinner but there was so much to try from local dishes to international cuisine. The highlight was breakfast and the fresh watermelon juice to wash down the Dim Sum.
We paid extra and upgraded to the lounge so every sunset we chilled overlooking the Gulf with a cocktail.
What is great about this hotel is the staff. General Manager Jane runs a good ship and my wife and I would really like to thank the following who where so kind and generous with their time during our stay. Alexis the Chef, Lisa who served me Old Fashions most nights, M, Kong, Korn, Alexis, Shelldol, Bewty, Eye, Duke, Fern, Annitz, Nice, Sea, Joy, Gloria & Katie. On top of this all the young staff in training were all polite, caring and understanding. Jane you TEAMS made us feel very welcome. (Apologies if I missed anyone) apart from the buggies to take us from reception up and down the hill to the beach and gym.
