Horrible night shift staff

The night staff, Fernando, on April 1 was horrible.... he did not give me a working key, he was acting very difficult and he followed me to my room knowing the key he gave me was not working. My room was changed because my boyfriend said nothing in the first room was working. When I arrived and requested a new key Fernando asked question after question after he had my ID and verified it was my room. I told him he was being difficult and to give me a key, it's late and I need to rest. He gave me a key that wouldn't work on the elevator so I asked where the stairs were. He went to the desk and got a working key and came upstairs. As I walked to my room I turned and asked what was he doing? He stated he wanted to see if I was going to my room. He made me very uncomfortable knowing he gave me a key that didn't work. Good thing my boyfriend was there.

Worst holiday inn I’ve ever been to

Where do I start? Let me first off say the only good thing about this hotel was Antonio T at the front desk the night we checked out of this wretched place. He had only been there for 3 weeks and I think he was ready to leave. I hope he does because he could be a good employee at any other place. When we arrived I could tell this was going to be bad. The lobby had a certain smell to it and it was not clean. When we got to the room it looked okay at first but upon further inspection I could tell it was not cared for the way it should be for guests paying $200 a night. I don’t think the maid service came around at all. I had to call down to the front desk to get more towels in the morning. The employees were yelling at each other during breakfast one morning. There weren’t any towels in the pool area at all. We had to go to the front desk for those too. Then our last night there the cops showed up for people on our floor having some sort of fight and yelling at the top of their lungs about something. Which I get isn’t the fault of the hotel but I wasn’t going to have my kids around that and have it ruin my vacation. All in all I would stay somewhere else. We did move to another holiday inn property in the area and it was much better.

Sorry customer service

I sat there while waiting to be waited on when I walk in there was 1 person in front of me and after that person was done othe people had walked up i guess there buddies and started talking and going through mail packages that were dropped off I watched the desk clerk straight up open a box that wasn't his and he said oh this don't have a name and then said oh that's nice and Siad oh that's ours. Them proceed to allow like 4 other people b4 he called me up to take my money and still haven't received my $100 incidental fee and it's been 15day. The bathroom light was blown i told them and nothing happened it's like once they get your money and then it likeyou pretty much.......

worst stay and lack of customer service !!!!!!!!!!!!

I had driven from Florida to Michigan. I usually stay at Holiday Inns. Requested, for a room that would be the most QUIET.......102 I was told was! after trying to go to sleep, the room above had people walking hard and the floor was creaking from poor construction. figured the people above would be going to bed. After about an hour of making noise, I was with a sleep aid medicine and Xanax I finally went to sleep. Only to wake up around 7 am to same noise above my room with floor. BUT THEN ALSO TO A FLOODED BATHROOM WITH WATER POURING DOWN FROM VENT FAN. COULD HEAR ALL THE WAY TO BED THE WATER POURING DOWN. I WENT TO FRONT DESK AND THE GUY SAID HE WOULD GIVE ME ANOTHER ROOM 318 AND WOULD TALK TO MANAGER ABOUT COMPENSATION FOR THAT NIGHT. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM ANY MANAGEMENT!!!!!. I looked at my credit card statement and for 3 days and after catching the female manager at breakfast. spoke to her and she said she had to review emails about problem. NEVER HEARD BACK. CHECKED OUT AND WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE SINCE MICHIGAN WHERE I WAS HEADING HAD WEATHER ISSUES. I WAS STUCK. AS A BUSINESS OWNER OF 3 COMPANIES, I THOUGHT I WOULD SEND EMAIL. NOTHING AGAIN...TIME FOR SOCIAL MEDIA AND CORPORATE TO FIND OUT HOW MISMANGED AND LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS PLACE HAS.

Pros and cons

Clean bathroom, decently comfortable bed and great breakfast! The pillows were uncomfortable and the road noise from the highway made it hard to fall asleep. The hallways needed vacuuming and there was old candy and trash under the couch, which we noticed when pulling out the bed. We also had to go downstairs at night to retrieve our own sheets and pillows for the kids to sleep on the pullout bed.

Elevator not working

I typically enjoy a stay at a Holiday Inn Express. I was disappointed this time. We were traveling through the area on our way home to Wisconsin when we stayed here. Arrival later in the day and we were too tired to keep driving.
Was informed upon our arrival that the elevator was not working and that our room was on the 3rd floor! Front desk clerk claimed he tried to call to let us know, but upon checking my phone later, I had no missed calls. Felt like the overall look and feel of this hotel was not as nice as many other IHG hotels I have stayed in.
Disappointed and feel we should receive a partial refund.

A Disappointing Experience at InterContinental London – The O2

I had high expectations for my stay at InterContinental London – The O2, especially given my past experiences with the brand. While the facilities and initial booking process were smooth, the overall experience was overshadowed by poor communication, inconsistent service, and frustrating problem resolution.
Before my arrival, I had sent my employee details to the reservations team, and they confirmed that my discount would be applied, with this information noted in my booking. However, when I dined at the restaurant in the evening, the staff refused to apply my employee discount, claiming I had not presented my employee card. This was confusing, as I was greeted as an IHG employee upon arrival at the restaurant, yet no one requested to see my card before I dined. If this was a requirement, why was it not mentioned beforehand so I could have retrieved it from my room? Adding to the inconsistency, the breakfast staff at the same restaurant applied my discount without any issue or request for verification. It was frustrating to experience two completely different approaches to the same discount policy within the same hotel.
The situation became even more disappointing when I questioned the bill at checkout. I was only informed at that point that the meal package I had booked did not allow employee discount, despite this not being communicated when I made the reservation or before I dined. Had I been told earlier, I would have made a more informed decision. Furthermore, beyond the meal package, there was an additional charge of £93.66, which was not part of the promotion. Even then, the hotel still refused to apply my employee discount to that portion of the bill. The lack of clear communication regarding pricing and policies was frustrating and avoidable.
What made this experience even worse was the way my concerns were handled. On the night I raised the issue, I was passed from one staff member to another, none of whom seemed to have a proper understanding of the charges. At checkout, the same thing happened again, with no resolution. When I escalated the matter through email, the process dragged on for nearly a month, and I repeatedly felt like my concerns were not being properly addressed. The hotel’s responses felt dismissive, as if they had never genuinely looked at the case from a guest’s perspective. Rather than acknowledging the lack of communication and inconsistencies, they seemed more focused on justifying their stance.
Eventually, I was offered 10,000 IHG points as compensation. While I appreciate the goodwill gesture, this does not address the core issue. A simple refund of the overcharged amount would have been the most straightforward and fair resolution. Instead, I have been left feeling frustrated by the way this was handled. This experience does not reflect the level of service I have come to expect from InterContinental, and it has made me question whether all properties uphold the same standard.
While I recognize the efforts of IHG Guest Relations in escalating my case, the way the hotel itself responded has been disappointing. I sincerely hope they take this as an opportunity to improve communication, staff training, and how they handle guest concerns. Unfortunately, given the way this situation was managed, I do not see myself staying at this property again.

Stay away!

The room was very tired and I was told I was upgraded and it was the best room in the house. It felt like the opposite. There was no beside tables in the room, no coffee pods for coffee machine on arrival- I had to go to the reception and ask for them. No water, no biscuits or hot chocolate so don't expect any luxuries. There are no plug sockets by the bed either. No one cares about the requests and reception just makes own decisions about what you want as a guest. I asked for room away from lift and received room114 literally 1 step away from the lift. I also booked the king bed but was given a twin room instead. The menu at the restaurant/var is very limited- they don't even have pizza. You are better going out to eat. When I questioned this with reception staff members I was told they assumed I'd prefer 2 single beds. On top of that housekeeping staff just push in with you in the lift while shouting in foreign language making a personal phone calls while on duty. I also booked breakfast on check in, but when I came for breakfast the next morning I was not on the list. When I asked for the bill for my stay on check out I was told the hotel can not give me one as I paid with points. At this point I understand my breakfast is free, since I was not able to obtain an invoice. After making a complaint at the reception I was told I will be credited 5000 points but there is still no sign of this on my account. Since I paid 49000 for the night it does not seem like a correct amount anyway. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Too pricey for what you get

Our room was very small for the price of $250 a night before additional taxes and parking fees. The room smelled like marijuana smoke all weekend. The restaurant is over priced. We payed over $20 each for a breakfast buffet that was the same reconstituted eggs and watery gravy we usually get free at a holiday inn express. I expected better food on a buffet we paid so much for. There are better options on the river walk. We will not stay here again.
