An all round enjoyable experience

Within the last 12 months I have stayed at the Intercontinental Amman on 3 separate occasions. I first stayed here in 1979 and, due to my work as an archaeologist, have stayed here frequently since then.
While there are certainly other good hotels in Amman (and I have stayed in these) the Intercontinental, with its tradition, staff friendliness and efficiency, and excellence in food and wine remains at the pinnacle.

Lovely location and setting, standards need watching

Good rooms, front office management team responded to problems rapidly and really tried hard to make the stay comfortable. Bar staff, beach staff are amiable and immediately do their best.
Strong PADI Scuba facility, great snorkelling, beach is well organised and maintained. This is the best feature of the facility.
Standards however need to be addressed (maintenance, housekeeping, consistency of buffet service and reservations),
Internet was patchy, almost non existent service around midnight, but good during the day.

Great hotel with wonderful staff. Everything is as expected. Breakfast initially had limited vegetarian option, but they cooked me a vegetarian dish. Kudos to that!

Hotel is conveniently located. Not too far from the air port, however it depends on the traffic - as usual. Hotel itself is fine, staff is very friendly. I got corner room on
the 5th floor. Well, that was not a good spot. Acoustic insulation is poor. I have heard almost every foot step down below, till late hours people were talking, singing, moving. All well heard in the room - with closed windows. After long haul (17 hrs) , it was not was I was expected. Advice - take a higher room or located at front. Location is fine, near by (just 5 min walk) is the stop for "Big Bus Tours" - worth to take it. And finally, restaurants - at late evening dare to enjoy cold white wine - off course local one - any one - simply delicious. You will not regret it. Have fun and enjoy the stay at Cape Town.

Entspannter Urlaub mit der Familie

Das Hotel bietet alle Voaraussetzungen um einen entspannten Urlaub mit der Familie zu verbringen.
Das Servicepersonal ist stets sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Kinder werden in der Anlage gerne gesehen.
Die Auswahl der Speisen ist durch die 4 Restaurants in der Anlage sehr gut und abwechslungsreich, wobei wir persönlich die Menüs in den Themenrestaurants, gegenüber dem Buffet bevorzugt haben.
Ausflügeaußerhalb der ANlage wurde durch das Personal professionell organisiert und zusammengestellt.
