Much lower quality than other Holiday Inn Express

We arrived SFO right around mid-night. There was no shuttle bus as advertised. Front Desk staff told us, the last bus ran at 22:30 and the last on in the morning was at 9:30 !!!
About the room, it looks like the place need serious renovations. The floor carpet was not clean and smelly. It looked like the hotel might just have it steamed but it was still literally WET when we stayed there.

Maintenance is missing

Holiday Inn’s are usually reliable to be well maintained but this one in Poteau OK has not kept up their pool (for well over a year) and the elevator at our last stay had been out for three weeks). Staff was friendly and I liked the breakfast except for the terrible cold decaf coffee the regular coffee was all gone.

If the quality of the room was as exceptional as the quality of hospitality, this would be a five star establishment. The rooms are in dire need of attention to detail. The linens were hard and the outside noise bordered being too loud and the outside lighting bordered being too bright.

Incredibly disappointing

This was, by far, the worst experience we’ve had in a hotel. I should have known when the man at the front desk was watching sports loudly in the lobby with one earbud in. The beds were awful. Very springy and sunk when you were on them. The pullout was the same, but worse-holes in pillows and the sides of the mattress. We had to ask for bedding for the pull out and when I went to call, I realized there was no phone in the room-just a plug where it used to be. I went to turn on the light, it didn’t work. Checked more into it, NO BULB. The alarm clock was dead, the tv remote didn’t work. The bathroom fan didn’t work and the there was possible mold and overall grossness in the grout in and around the tub. Paper peeling from walls, gaps around venting. A hair with the toiletries. It all just felt very gross! Breakfast was sad. The pancake machine was broken so they had waffles-frozen eggos, still cold, sitting in a warmer getting soggy as they thawed with actually warm food. The drink dispenser was broken so they had open pitchers in a fridge. No milk for cereal, one brown banana in the fruit bowl. OH, and when we got there, we got ready to go swimming, went down to the pool to find a garden hose adding water, cloudy water, and all of the life preservers and things that are usually on the wall floating in the pool! There was no mention at check in, 10 min before and no signage saying we couldn’t use the pool, but it didn’t feel safe, so we left, with disappointed children.
This location was also *just* off a busy highway, which we did not expect! Overall, this was the worst hotel experience I could have imagined. I’ve always trusted holiday inns and am now nervous to try again. I actually felt so bad for this experience for my kids that I put another night at a nicer hotel on a credit card, staying an extra night, just to redeem the weekend.

Beware this hotel

As a frequent IHG member and traveler I have stayed at hundreds of IHG properties. But my experience at this hotel was one of the worst ever. The hotel put a $40 charge on my credit card after I checked out. I called and spoke with a manager and he accused me of stealing a pillow. I’ve never taken hotel property before and I explained that they had made a mistake. He refused to remove the charge. I suspect that they must do this to make more profit. I’ll never stay at this hotel again and recommend that IHG drop this property from the brand.

Terrible terrible customer service

We were in town for a military funeral, And and her grief my 89 year old aunt told me to make a reservation at the Holiday Inn express on John Carpenter Freeway. Unbeknownst to me, there are three Holiday Inn express hotels on John Carpenter Freeway in Irving, Texas. I booked a room at the DFW location however, the rest of our family was staying at Las Colinas. I did not discover this discrepancy until I arrived. The manager at Las Colinas told me That it wouldn’t be a problem – that all three holiday Inn expresses in that area work together to make exceptions because this is a common error that occurs however, when I called the DFW location, I was told that they would not cancel my reservation and would still charge me the room fee because I didn’t cancel 24 hours in advance. I was told “if we make an exception for you, we would have to make an exception for everyone“. I was also told that I would have to request a refund through Travelocity, which I did and they said they would do everything possible to obtain. It was the hotel manager that declined refunding me my money. In addition, the desk attendant told us that we could “Uber over to their hotel“since we did not have transportation. I thought that was offensive considering I had just driven my 80-year-old aunt in from out of state to see her brother be buried. In addition, the desk attendant did not send me to the general manager because “they were gonna tell you the same thing anyway so there was no point in talking to him. “. There was no empathy from the staff at all no attempt to make an accommodation or provide grace in the situation. I ended up paying for two Hotel rooms.
The general manager and the staff at Holiday Inn express Las Colinas was incredible! They were empathetic, helpful, courteous, and made our stay wonderful.
I would bring a tent and sleep on the side of the highway before I would stay at the Holiday Inn express DFW.

Unbelievable and Outdated

I generally only use Holiday Inn's when me and my family travel. This is the first time that we've walked into the 60's version of a Holiday Inn. It was unbelievably dirty, nasty, and we didn't want to touch anything, not even the outlets. The carpet was extremely old na dirty, everything seemed dusty and dirty. We checked for bed bugs as we always do, and we can say we didn't see any, so that was the only plus. We tried to find another hotel, but everyone was full. So we stayed. Yuck is all I can say. We didn't let our bags touch the floor at all. It's a shame that Holiday Inn doesn't take pride in this particular hotel. No recent renovations, no upgrades, barely any working outlets, except the strip of outlets that was so nasty we didn't want to touch it.
I hope they do better. I hope they update this place. Even the hallway rugs and elevator was pretty pathetic. I hope location isn't why it hasn't seen any love at all. The pros were the night staff worker, young lady, that was extremely nice, and the day staff of two middle age ladies. Please clean this place up. Update it. Remodel.

Had to contact front desk many times to get a receipt of my stay. Promised to send it right away after I check out and I have to keep calling for it.
