Great over night staff and breakfast crew

They handled the hotel so well once the manager woman came with the dark black hair left. The manager was rude and handled us wrong. Told us we were not getting a refund so we could leave there hotel. Said we were having a party just because we had several rooms. They assumed that people of the same race were our family and kicked us all out the pool. Worse experience ever.

Recommend reading of all the posted signs at Front desk . If you have any concerns with your rooms, stay , this is what they seem to point to and read to you when you approach with guests request for service. No hotel should be telling guest at checking in , they don’t have towels and you will need to use the floor mats.

**RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!

The hotel presents an attractive image on its website; however, the actual experience upon arrival is significantly disappointing. The environment is marked by unpleasant odors, scattered litter, and carpets that are in such poor condition that I would not permit my children to sit on them. The room's furniture was damaged, there was no functional phone, tape was affixed to the back of the remote control, the door lock was broken, the revolving doors in the lobby were inoperative, the refrigerator door was nearly detached from its hinges, the ice makers were nonfunctional, and our Uber Eats delivery was taken from outside our door. Furthermore, there was no staff present at the front desk to address any concerns. I also had to park three blocks away, face exorbitant parking fees, and walk back with a car seat, children, and luggage in tow. In summary, it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, and I will not return.

Do not Stay here

The room was totally unacceptable to IHG standards, there was mold in the bathtub, the light on the desk was not operating, the handle on the refrigerator was missing and the worst was the absolutely dirty bath towel, it appeared someone washed their car with it. Please zoom in on the picture and think of drying yourself off. You can see by the pictures. I was also given a handicap room, not requested, which for booking in advance seemed unnecessary.

Poorly managed facility

In many ways, this is the worst IHG hotel I ever stayed. I have probably stayed several hundred nights with IHG in last 30 years, business and leisure.

Great location, not so great stay experience 😞

Issues with our room stay regarding refrigerator and hotel not being able to compensate for our inconvenience. Also, the non-smoking hotel wasn’t so as we could smell someone smoking marijuana while in our room!

Avoid St Patrick's day weekend

We were in Waterloo and had the misfortune to stay over St Patrick's day weekend. I wasn't aware that the University students go absolutely mad that weekend. The schools don't allow visitors so large groups book hotel rooms. All night long there were groups running up and down the halls, yelling, and slamming doors. We called the front desk and they assured us they would send security. It did not stop. We later found out security was running around the whole hotel all night long.
We did not sleep at all Friday night and ended up checking out Saturday, instead of staying until Sunday as expected.
The hotel staff was very apologetic and did everything in their power to manage a bad situation. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel itself, and I would stay there again on a different weekend.

I would have appreciated a heads up when booking if this was a known issue, which it seems like it was. I would also suggest to the hotel to have restricted booking policies that weekend, limiting non-family groups in rooms.
I only leave this review so that it may help someone next year to make a good hotel choice. St. Jacobs is a lovely option.

My husband, daughter and I had booked with a room block for a hockey tournament in the area. This booking initially was made online, and then upon receiving the schedule for the tournament, I called and added the Thursday night stay to our booking. We drove 3.5 hours from home and arrived to the hotel, only to find that no one had any record of our booking for the Thursday night, and there was no record of my call. The staff on site was very good to deal with, but they were not able to change the room rate to reflect the room block rate- a $60 differential from what we had been quoted. I was informed to come to the desk in the morning and speak to the sales manager. Next day came and the sales manager was not at work that day. I called after the weekend was over, only to find the sales manager was not who I needed to speak to. I am still waiting for the correct manager to get in contact with me to remedy this situation. It is incredibly frustrating and makes me not want to stay at this hotel again.

Freezing cold with tub water torture
