Rooms smell like old cigarette smoke

Very disappointed, my room had cigarette smoke smell, it made my daughter sick. The floor and couch were brown with dirt. There were cigarette burn holes on the floor and curtains.. My parents stayed across the hall and had the same experience. The rooms need to be updated. Do not stay at the hotel unless you like old grimy rooms and the smell of cigarettes and are willing to pay a premium for it.

Updated hotel that is dirty

We checked in late, the front staff were not friendly we were clearly a bother to them. The hotel is updated and could be nice but our room was filthy. I had to clean the dirt and hair out of the tub. The counters had not been wiped down and the bathroom floor was just gross. The room had not been vacuumed or wiped down in a while. There were 2 towels and washcloths for 3 adult guest when I called for more was told we could come down and get them, but they wouldn’t bring us any.

I wouldn't stay here.
It's not as nice as other Staybridges that we have been to, and the breakfast (told to be ready at 730) wasn't ready until we left after 9 (and was just Pop-Tarts). The desk person told us that a pipe broke (whatever, things happened), but then asked us if we wanted a room on that side of the hotel (?). Then the room smelled like cigarettes, and the soap dispenser hold was falling off the wall. The rest was honestly kind of dingy.

terrible customer service and bad room

When we( my 1 year old son and myself) arrived we waited 20 minutes at the front desk to get checked in Friday. When we went to the room and the room smelled of mildew. Did not think anything of it. Went to visitation and got something to eat. When we got back to the room the floor closest to the AC unit was soaked. I called to the front desk to see if we could change rooms as the smell of mildew was strong and could not have my 1 year old in the room. The lady at the front desk said she would call. She never called back so we went down to the first floor to see what was going on. She found another room for us to switch to. When I was leaving the front desk she made a comment of just leave the keys in there i will go check to see if there is an actual issue myself. She made it seem as i was lying... very unfriendly and lacked customer service skills.

Booked a 2 bed suite and received a 1 bed suite The next morning the gentleman stated that he didn’t know if one was going to be available until after 3 despite check out time is 12 noon. Finally received a Double bed suite after threatening to go to another hotel. AC in the new room was broken in which maintenance made a temporary fix. Every washing machine in the guest laundry was out of order. After the third day i asked the hotel attendant was it going to be fixed anytime soon, she had no clue ithey were broken and advised me to go to another hotel to utilize its guest laundry. Room only partially cleaned.

We have stayed at this particular Holiday Inn on several other occasions and everything was fine. This time however, not so much. the bed was sloppily made and there was a large quantity of what appeared to be food crumbs scattered across the floor. We called the desk and they said that they would send someone to clean the carpet. They did also offer to move us to a different room, which we declined. Close to an hour later someone did show up with a vacuum cleaner and explained that the regular cleaning crew had gone for the day. He was very nice, but the vacuum cleaner he had looked like it was built in the last century, and when it was running it blew dust that smelled like wet dog. Other than that, everything was okay, except for the occasional banging on the floor from the room above us.

When I arrived there wasn’t a room for my family. We had booked the room in February. After finding a room for us we discovered the room was extremely dirty. The bathroom had hair on the floor, trash in the garbage, the kitchen floors were sticky and disgusting, the pull out couch I wouldn’t have let my dog sleep on let alone my children. The second room was at least better but smelled the entire time we were there. No one gave us clean towels are emptied our garbage. We were there 3 nights and 4 days. I have never had the worst experience at an IHG hotel. I will never stay there again.
