What an amazing stay!

Ronnie and his staff were truly amazing to me and my guests. We were working with Ronnie on our wedding room block and he went above and beyond with the service he provided. His staff was truly amazing and warm. All of our guests loved the property and the amenities. I also heard the food was amazing!

Simply OK, lacking with simple touches

I’d stayed at this hotel before for work, and thought I’d stay again for non work stay. The first time I’d had an OK experience but I’d been placed next to the lifts which were so noisy.
The stay started with a a query that I’d only selected 1 person for the stay when I sent proof that it was 2( and wanted me to pay extra for breakfast) this was in no reflection of the female on reception who was incredibly friendly and was simply a error on the system.
The room itself was clean but incredibly uncomfortable with the air con not fully functioning correctly and the room being far too hot. I didn’t and my partner sleep very well.
As being a diamond elite member, the options of a free drink or points was available as my welcome amenity. The rear of the voucher states “any premium wine or beer etc and the gentleman serving in the evening, would only offer me a house wine ( which as Merlot clearly isn’t premium). After some deliberating he offered other options, and his colleague seemed like she’d never poured a glass of wine before firstly into initially a dirty glass and then using two completely different types of wine glass. The taste of the wine made it clear that the glass wasn’t washed properly- but at this point we were fed up so simply accepted it begrudgingly.
The only positive I felt was the breakfast which was good variety and tasty and morning staff were incredibly friendly.
There’s a few small things and touches that would really give this hotel a good experience to make it stand out from others, but realistically for the same price that night,I could have stayed at the Hotel Indigo or three other 4 star hotels in York and to be honest I wish I had for there to be have some really personalised touches to a hotel stay.
There’d have to be some overhaul with rooms and service before I were to choose this in York again.

Worst Hotel in North America

No Air conditioner in the hotel, provided fans in the rooms. No windows, so fresh air could not come into the room. Poor lightings in the one functional elevator. No soap provided. The breakfast looked disgusting.

Paper thin walls and windows.

This property has paper-thin walls that allow all sounds to pass through. Since the hotel shares windows between rooms, there is no soundproofing between the walls and windows—you can hear everything. Security is also lacking, and the lobby allows homeless individuals to come inside.

Hello - I am a business traveler, and Holiday Inn is my go-to hotel. However, I was a bit disappointed at the room quality. Probably the worst thing was the spell that came thru the fan on the A/C. It smelled of mold and mildew. The carpet in my room had some tears. The shower was very disappointing. It needs to be renovated. It was rusty along the sliding door panels and appeared to be very dated. This is probably an older location that needs a freshening.

I was bitterly disappointed in this hotel. From the minute I booked in to the end of my stay. Checking in was 15 minutes with nobody else around. Room had no towels and only 1 glass. Stayed 10 nights and room wasn’t cleaned once. Not the usual once a week. My colleague stayed 6 nights and twice requested room cleaning, to no avail.
The pantry did not have soda for my entire stay. The “business center” was not functional as the printer didn’t work.
Never again!! I stayed at Candlewood Suites in Lexington for 11 nights after this. I strongly suggest that Louisville go and learn from Lexington how a hotel should be run.

Dingy rundown rooms and linens, lack of proper staffing and staff that was there were rude

Sheets were dirty, carpet was nasty, towels needed to be thrown away they were so ragged, couldn’t get extra towels when we asked, spent 25 minutes waiting in line at the checkin desk to get a second room key, staff were rude and dismissive, and the breakfast area was a mess (out of coffee and silverware, not enough seating, staff nowhere to be found). Would not recommend this hotel.

Not what we expect from Holiday Inn family. Not friendly or helpful staff. Room older and needed repairs. Thin towels. Bed ( mattress) old. Breakfast milk curdled. Would not recommend Nevada holiday inn.

Extremely disappointing due to both poor customer service and an excessive cleaning fee of $250

Unfortunately, my experience at your property was extremely disappointing due to both poor customer service and an excessive cleaning fee of $250—more than the cost of my entire 3-night stay, which totaled approximately $212.07 ($70.69 per night).
On the first night of my stay, I became unexpectedly ill around 12:30 a.m. and vomited near the bed. When I attempted to contact the front desk for assistance:
1. The landline phone in the room was not working—there was no dial tone, and pressing the front desk button produced no response.
2. While I was attempting to call the front desk on my cell phone, a staff member came to the door. He was an older man who appeared to have a health condition (possibly COPD), and his attitude was dismissive and unhelpful.
3. After explaining the situation, instead of offering meaningful help, he asked if I had cleaned up the mess myself and whether any vomit was on the bedding. His only suggestion was to bring me a mop.
4. I requested to switch rooms, which he agreed to do, but he did not mention any cleaning fee at the time—much less one that would exceed $250.
5. On the morning of my departure, I needed the 5 a.m. airport shuttle. The same staff member drove the shuttle but offered no greeting, acknowledgment, or concern for my well-being. His attitude remained cold and impersonal.

To make matters worse, the front desk staff throughout my stay were consistently unfriendly, and their presentation was concerningly unprofessional.
I researched hotel policies regarding cleaning fees due to illness, and while I understand that additional fees may apply, there is usually transparency and reasonable discretion in how they are applied. In this case, a $250 charge for a single incident, with no warning or documentation, feels excessive and unfair—especially when it equals or exceeds the cost of the entire booking.
I am therefore requesting a refund of $200 to account for the unreasonable cleaning charge and the poor service received during my stay. I hope you will take this opportunity to make things right and to revisit your policies and staff training for the benefit of future guests.
