Terrible sleeping experience & average service

From the point i arrived the card of the room was not working, the door has an issue. Sleeping quality was very poor as the curtains were passing light from the very early morning. Balcony door was not working properly. House keeping service was poor. They forgot to clean the room even i was informing the front desk to to clean it and the sign of cleaning was on the door anyway. The breakfast was poor and they were not refilling it again when finished.

Welcome to the newly renovated Candlewood Suites NE Stafford. We offer rooms with modern amenities a countertop stove, fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you might need, a microwave, and a full-size refrigerator. You can easily do your laundry any time of the day (or night) in our courtesy laundry room, you can also buy detergents, Clorox and fabric softener at our convenient front desk store. Please enjoy our well-equipped gym open 24 hours a day, even on the weekends!!

First, let me say t he staff here is amazing. They’re kind and considerate.
As for the hotel itself: Two nights in a row, people were fighting, first night was the people right next to our room in 308 we stayed in 306. Than the next night there was somebody across the hall that kept knocking on someone’s door screaming at her to let them in or else, this was at 4:00am.
Safety:: There was a two doors at the end of the hallway that leads outside they do not shut correctly. You have to pull them to make sure they are shut. Anyone from outside could come in and the Front Desk wouldn’t even know it, but I’m sure they check it regularly.

Holiday Inn® Lancaster hotel is just off the M6, with easy access to the Lake District. The shops and attractions of Lancaster are a 10-minute drive away. Alternatively, leave the car in the hotel's free car park and catch a bus to the town centre from the stop outside the hotel. Lancaster Station is served by direct trains to Manchester. Blackpool Airport (BLK) is 40 minutes' drive from the hotel.
The hotel is just 20 minutes' drive from the scenic Lake District National Park. A 10-minute drive from the hotel, the 12th-century Lancaster Castle is surrounded by parkland. Nearby, the riverside Lancaster Maritime Museum occupies a former warehouse. Morecambe Bay, 20 minutes' drive from the hotel, offers coastal walks and seafront cafés. Lancaster University is easily accessible and only a 15 minutes' drive from the hotel.
Business guests are 20 minutes' drive from Heysham Power Station. At the hotel, you can host meetings for up to 100 people in seven flexible conference rooms with AV equipment and free WiFi.

The staff were very nice but the beds in this hotel not only deprived us of two nights sleep but left us in agony. It was the equivalent to sleeping on a slab of concrete! Bathrooms stink of sewerage with no window

I was given a price back in March 2024 when I booked this room for August 15, 2024 and they emailed me a price of $147.00 and they ended up charging me $230.00 for the one night. I will never stay here again !!! And I use to stay at this place 2 times a a year. I’m done !! Beds are now comfortable like most Holiday Inn expresses hard as a rock. Yeah.

the hotel screwed up my reservation, and charged me for a night I never stayed. When I arrived, they jacked up the room rate. When I called ihg rewards, and the hotel management, I could not get any straight answers: everyone kept pointing their finger to the other party. No one involved seemed the least bit interested in customer satisfaction.

This hotel chain doesn't verify the email that guests use to sign up for the loyalty program

I've never stayed at this hotel, but I have now filled out multiple surveys for it because one of their guests gave them my email address to sign up for the loyalty program and they didn't verify it. I've now locked him out of his loyalty account and I'm giving them negative reviews every time they send me a survey or a request for a review. This chain doesn't verify guest information and as a result I now have access to this random dude's loyalty account. This is a security risk for their guests.

Bathroom was not very clean, floors need cleaned especially in the corners and grout. I killed a large roach in the bathroom the next morning.
Lobby was less than welcoming. It's dark and drab. Whole place is very outdated and dark.
Front desk staff upon checking in was wonderful, friendly, and helpful!
Shuttle driver didn't say a single word to us, not good morning, get in, get out -- nothing.
We had the same shuttle driver coming back. we had to wait 45 minutes and 3 phone calls to the hotel to ask where he was. According to him, it wasn't his fault, it was the front desk who didn't let him know we had arrived.
Overall, I would not recommend this property.

I have stayed here before, and never really an issue, the rooms have been dated, but that was never a problem. This time I checked in and they put me on the floor that’s completely under construction. The walls were all plaster board, room numbers on the floor, very dusty, my room was falling apart, wallpaper peeling, that was nice room was clean Ish. I wish they would’ve told me that it was under construction on the floor. They put me on.

This hotel is in rundown and poor condition the room appearance looked unclean. There were spiders in the room and on the walls. TV worked half the time. Jacuzzi was cold. Wasps were flying everywhere near pool due to large nests outside that is visible staff said it’s a nest inside the walls.
