Worst IHG Location

This was by far the worst IHG location that I’ve ever experienced. From the moment that I pulled in the parking lot I saw trash, cigarettes butts, overgrown shrubs and flowerbeds. The lawn needed to be cut as well. The lobby had crumbs on the floor. Keep in mind, I hadn’t even made to my room. The desk in the room was rocking when I touched it as well the bench was not stable. There was hair in the bathroom and the bottom of the tub was uneven. The pool wasn’t clean either. I mentioned multiple discrepancies to the front desk clerk and she was very apologetic She said that would pass it on to the manager. If you’re wondering, yes I stayed anyway since I would only be there a few hours (only traveling through). This hotel should definitely NOT be a part of IHG, very disappointing! They have a lot of work to do!

This hotel is not up to the Holiday Inn standards. To begin with when we arrived the restaurant was closed because they didn’t have any staff to run the kitchen.
The first room they put us in, was not clean and the shades would not go down. They changed our room, but the second room was no better. This time the shades would not go up. The shower head was loose and it was difficult to take a shower. We were booked for four nights, but we only stayed one night because of the condition of the hotel. We were not happy with our experience at this hotel.

Don't stay at this hotel

I was not happy with the HVAC/Heat systems at the property. It was very cold in my room and I was informed that heat to building had already been turned off for the season. Maintenance brought a portable heater in my room, he told me he had delivered many due to other guest complaints. Even the front desk had one. That was not what I expected at the Holiday Inn, what a fire hazard! The toilet was set at an angle and you could not even fully open the lid to the toilet. I've never seen such a poor design. The room was so noisy, you could hear all the hallway noise, and I could even hear my adjacent guest singing in her shower. The "free" breakfast was not good. Eggs had no taste at all and there was a homeless person in the eating area. It made me very uncomfortable. It was not a good experience at all.

Welcome to the Candlewood Suites Muskogee, Oklahoma. At the Candlewood Suites you will enjoy the independence of apartment living blended with the convenience of a hotel. Enjoy relaxing outdoors with our new covered patio for grilling. We are 2 miles from the famous Castle of Muskogee and Hatbox Sports Field. While here don’t forget to stop at the USS Batfish Museum or enjoy the various music festivals in downtown Muskogee. The hotel is just minutes away from a variety of restaurants such as Runts BBQ, Gino’s Italian, Lopez Grill, My Place BBQ, I Don’t Care Bar and Grill, Chilis and so much more. Our hotel is 1.5 miles from the VA Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital. We are 10 miles from the Port of Muskogee. The Candlewood Suites is located right off of Highway 69 on N 32 Street.

Disappointing Stay

My husband and I have stayed in many different places in suites. This was not a suite. It was so small and crowded. I thought the bathroom was a closet. It was so very small. The bed was uncomfortable and we will never stay at an IHG again. We were charged more for our dogs than the room fee. Rediculous. Our dogs were not dirty but we were charged an extra fee for cleaning on top of dog fees. Never had happened.

I’ve stayed here before and didn’t have any issues. This stay however, the room was filthy. Our bathroom toilet (bowl inside) had not been cleaned in weeks, with stains all in the bowl, the shower had soap scum on every surface (including the hardware where you could actually wipe it off and see the silver under)….
Also, you allowed a group of individuals have a gathering in the parking lot on the Saturday night. These individuals were directly outside the building, sitting on the curb and in lawn chairs, with music blaring, children running and screaming until almost midnight. When I addressed this with the front desk since we had an early morning function, I was told “I gave them until 11pm to gather”. This is unacceptable and disrespectful to paying customers since you have others staying in the hotel.

Comfortable bed

I booked this room for the breakfast, pool and hot tub. Once I check in I see that I have to pay additional fees for breakfast. After going to my room I can see hair all over the bathroom. The walls, floor and shower. I also went to the pool and found balls of hair in the pool and a big dirt ball in the hot tub. This was my first stay with them and my last. They do not clean properly at all and need to do better after charging someone so much money. Thank you .

This property is in desperate need of the underway renovation. It is old and tired. The lobby was nice and expansive. It is in need of a lobby bar area. Staff was very pleasant and accomodating. I would not stay here again unitl renovations were completed.

Not a place I would ever stay again

when I checked in I had to fill out a paper and select minimal room service items that I wanted done daily. I checked fresh towels and garbage removal, the first two days they brought towels after that I had to go down and get at front desk. The garbage was never removed. I noticed others set their garbage outside of the room and so I started doing that. I needed to stay another week but the stay was so poor I checked out at end of the week and went to Chambersburg. At Chambersburg they completely cleaned the room each day, put in fresh towels. The stay is best summed up by a sign in their lobby. Pets are welcome and people are tolerated. This is exactly how the guest are treated. My observations below:
1. rooms are not cleaned at all and there is a film of dust on lamps etc to show this.
2. the hallways are not cleaned or vacuumed, there is general debris in the same places for the entire week
3. the parking lot was not cleaned, there was a used womans maxipad laying in a parking space for the entire week. Unfortunately when I got in later I had to park in the space several times.
4. there were usually two people at the desk so I dont think the hotels problem is availability of labor.
5. Hoteliers have one job and that is to provide guest with a clean room, clean hotel and fresh linen. Thats it and this place failed all three.

Water problems

I was stay when the construction caused the water to be on a boil only situation and was given water bottles to brush teeth with. Everyone was very nice about it when I checked out I asked about any compensation for the inconvenience and I was told I would have to talk to the general manger which I haven't called. They were not authorized to do anything. I would like to have some of the points returned to me for this. Also we went to get into the hot tub and it was extremely dirty and would not get in others were talking about it also. Please let me know about the points being returned to me thank you Laurie Vaughn

Reservations did not book the room I requested and the on duty manager at the location did not take care of the problem when I found out that I couldn’t get that handicapped room. Then he said he would give us another handicapped room and didn’t.
