Could be cleaner

This property is one of the newer holiday inns. On arrival I got no recognition of IHG loyalty. I was assigned a smaller corner room at the end of the hallway. I went back down and politely asked if any upgrades were available and was given a complete attitude. The room seemed like it could have been cleaner. Quite a few hairs on bathroom floor. Low water pressure on 5th floor. Room wasn’t fully stocked with towels and half a roll of tissue on arrival. There is one nicely dressed, nice gentlemen on staff. Other female staff member seemed to be very disgruntled. There were plenty of were your mask signs everywhere though!

Clean suites but poor front desk customer service

I have traveled a lot with my wife and kids and this was the first time in years that I’ve heard my kids complain about a stay in a hotel. Front desk staff didn’t care to welcome us as we checked in nor did they care that we got different bed sizes from what we had booked. Zero customer service skills and poor attitude from the front desk agent.

Holiday Inn® Lancaster hotel is just off the M6, with easy access to the Lake District. The shops and attractions of Lancaster are a 10-minute drive away. Alternatively, leave the car in the hotel's free car park and catch a bus to the town centre from the stop outside the hotel. Lancaster Station is served by direct trains to Manchester. Blackpool Airport (BLK) is 40 minutes' drive from the hotel.
The hotel is just 20 minutes' drive from the scenic Lake District National Park. A 10-minute drive from the hotel, the 12th-century Lancaster Castle is surrounded by parkland. Nearby, the riverside Lancaster Maritime Museum occupies a former warehouse. Morecambe Bay, 20 minutes' drive from the hotel, offers coastal walks and seafront cafés. Lancaster University is easily accessible and only a 15 minutes' drive from the hotel.
Business guests are 20 minutes' drive from Heysham Power Station. At the hotel, you can host meetings for up to 100 people in seven flexible conference rooms with AV equipment and free WiFi.
In the relaxed restaurant, start your day with a buffet breakfast, or enjoy an evening meal with family or colleagues. Unfortunately this is one of those Holiday Inns that IHG are trying to distance themselves from. It's NOT the staff's fault, let's be clear, although allocating a room right above the INCREDIBLY noisy kitchen vent to a Spire Elite may not have been the wisest move. I was grateful for the discount given for the faux pas but I believe this hotel's issues go deeper than money off - simple things like the bed base was torn, dirty and absolutely covered in stains. First IHG hotel to earn a "no recommendation"

I was not happy with this hotel at all. I was directly across from the stairway door and the closing mechanism did not work so every time the door closed it slammed and even shook the walls. It happened a lot as there were kids running up and down the halls and in and out of the stairway. I even heard the door slam as late as 1:00 AM. The door to the parking lot at the back of the building was an exit only and yet it had a card reader. The manager was not very friendly and rather curt. Breakfast has been an issue for me at most IHG properties. They put fancy chaffing dishes out but still the same dog food in them. This was my most disappointing stay to date.

A Central Milton Keynes City Hotel with restaurant, conference facilities, Open Lobby Bar Lounge area, swimming pool, gym and steam room. Our Hotel provides you with space to eat, drink, work, relax and socialise. In the heart of the citys's business and shopping districtrict, we are short walk from Milton Keynes central rail station, served by direct trains to London. Luton Airport is 30 minute drive away. There are high street shop accross the road from the hotel. You can enjoy skiing in nearby indoor ski Snozone.

False advertising

Booked 2 nights because hotel advertised pool.
My children and I were very excited to go swimming that day.
On arrival, no pool and had to either pay cancellation fee or reduce booking to 1 night (same price as cancellation fee) and not have access to pool which was my main reason for booking.
Not impressed.

Stated 2 nights here. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. I didn’t realize when I booked the rooms there was no breakfast, but the hotel did offer food for purchase on site. I’d stay again.

Poor check in experience

I was not greeted as an Elite member, neither was I offered points or drink upon check-in. I also wanted to swim the following morning but discovered I needed to book this the night before, but wasn’t told about this at check-in!
During checkout I raised the issue to not being asked if a I would like a drinks voucher or points and was informed points had been added without asking me. The points still have not been added!

Average hotel at a very expensive price. We promised bath and body stuff for bath , didn't find any. The shower was the faintest trickle that I have ever experienced.

Convenient

Have never seen pool water that color! Breakfast area was filthy, and while I am in my 70’s, the octogenarian maintaining the area was seriously overwhelmed. When I have to find hot water and napkins to clean the table myself, that’s a fail.

Staff was nice but the comforters should be washed thoroughly. Having blood stains on the comforter does not give a good look for the hotel that the sheets are clean.
