Poor experience

I have been a regular visitor. This time, I tried to alter the booking within the terms and conditions and I got a very unhelpful and imflexible reply.. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because if you need to change your booking the response you seem to get is “talk to the hand”.

Newly renovated as of 2019. The North Shore is home to NorthWestern University , Wrigley Field , Ravina Music Festival and many other favorite destinations. too many issues

First the good - front desk clerk was kind and helpful.
checked in after a long day of flying at close to midnight. entryway outside had people hanging out smoking around what appeared to be a non operational fountain, which was a bit distasteful.
check in went smooth, i was parched, and the clerk was kind enough to dig up a bottle of water for me (his last, he said), but there was no where on the property to buy a soda or drink that I could find.
Walking into the room it smelled like smoke, (it was, of course, a non smoking room) by this time I was so tired that I thought maybe I''ll live wit h it, but after half an hour I was so irritated by it that I knew there was no way I'd sleep. The clerk gladly switched my room, and while apologetic, didn't seem surprised.
finally settled down in my new room, tv remote didn't work. I was wiped, thirsty, annoyed and exhausted, so didn't bother calling and just went to sleep. I checked out 6 hours later, but this will probably be the last holiday inn I stay in, a shame because it was once a brand that was reliably clean and had basic amenities.

Very poor service and customer experience

Change some of your staff! In the restaurant during breakfast, there was a man incharged of the restaurant, he wasent stop starring at us,, gave comments to my sun's, and when i talked with him asking for napkins he said: "i don't have time for you!". Now, even if a service provider is in stress with full capacity (and this is not the case) this is not the way to talk with your gest!!!! I"m not speaking about a paying customers but a guest staing at your place!!! Also, we had socs (not ours) hanged at our room, we told the staff several times with no help. The room was not clean and we felt like we just wait to leave. This is not the way to build your reputation.

A three year old motel look to be 20 years old look good on our side dirty

The outside of the motel look great the inside different story hallway carpets are dirty the room I checked into the carpet has never been vacuumed it was filthy they had to change rooms under the recliner chair it wasn’t vacuum it was dirty the Holiday Inn they took $50 off my card for incidentals didn’t tell me they were going to do that I call back the next day the The girl at the front desk answer the phone like she was on a hangover she wouldn’t very professional if they didn’t vacuum the carpet who’s to say about cleaning the room for COVID so I went and got alcohol in a spray bottle I keep in my truck and sprayed on everything I touched this motel is supposed to be 3 years old Iam aspire elite member I been a IHG member since 2009 that’s the first time I have had stayed at a dirty IHG property

Sorry I Stayed

I was very disappointed with this facility and the reasons are many. #1. Reserved a king disabled room with a walk-in shower. I am disabled and my husband hearing impaired. Got a standard king room. #2 The bathroom tub/shower had mold/mildew around the caulking and fixtures plus no housekeeping was provided for Saturday. #3 The breakfast selection was limited and ran out of food well before the closing time. #4. The ac in the room stopped working on Saturday. We came back to find it 86 degrees in the room when the thermostat was set at 74 degrees. #5 When I was checking out and advised the clerk of the problems she seemed less than interested. I was not offered any discount for the problems.

Room wasn’t clean!

This was my worst hotel experience ever and I’m Spire level so I travel a lot. Things were made to make the room look clean like towels and bedding but then I found toe nails on the carpet, old food in the microwave and used wash cloths hanging in the shower.

What an embarrassing experience.

Staff was extremely rude when a guest aggressively reported us for noise, due to our 25lb toddler. I will say that the floor did seem to be very poorly constructed, and certainly could have been transferring sound more than we realized. But these complaints were all coming in well before a normal “lights out” time. We put a lot of effort and stress into keeping disruptions minimal for other guests. However, we were rudely talked down to and told to “control your child,” as if we haven’t been doing so. Also was highly implied that the complaining guest was more valued and would basically have priority in the matter. We were unable to resolve the situation and left the property with several nights still prepaid. Any attempt to resolve further (ie refund for nights that we would not be staying, especially considering we had to find new accommodations) was met with even more condescending talk (got called “chief” several times)! Staff also made no attempts to even discuss the matter or escalate to a manager. We understand that people want to act like toddlers should be absolutely silent, but we were keeping things reasonable. Certainly didn’t want to be there under the tragic circumstances of an unexpected death in the family. But definitely didn’t expect to be treated like this. Long story short - if you have family, look elsewhere! If you’re on business… well, do the same because the floors are obviously flimsy and I guess one reasonable family can become your worst nightmare.
