Poor service and uncomfortable bed

One of my worst experience. Poor service, breakfast variety not much, unable sleep at night because of AC not working, I complained more than 5 times but no action taken and I can't sleep at night which resulted I can't concentrate on my exam next morning. Very angry I waited for that exam for 2 years.

Enjoy your home away from home in between the San Francisco Bay Area and California's Central Valley. Located off of Highway 4, the property is the newest lodging option in the Brentwood area. Brentwood is located within easy driving distance of a variety of businesses and attractions in Contra Costa County, the East Bay and the Greater Stockton Area. A variety of local attractions including outdoor sports, shopping and dining are within moments of our all new hotel.

Poor Customer Service and dirty room

I don't like writing bad reviews but for this visit I felt compelled so that others won't have the same experience. Our bathroom was filthy dirty with hair from someone shaving all around the tub top and grime on the walls and shower curtain. We were in a hurry to check in because of getting our car worked on nearby and had a virtual meeting to attend. Right before my meeting is when I noticed the dirty bathroom. Knowing I would not have time to change rooms I still called the front desk to inform them. The asked if I wanted another room and I explained why I couldn't at the time. She said OK and would make a note of it, said thank you and hung up. No apology, no "is there anything else I can do to make this right for you!"
We asked for a late checkout for 1 pm and the maid walked into our room twice the day of check out. She was very apologetic, and mentioned nothing was said to her about our late checkout.
The over all attitude of the lady who we came in contact with was as if she was doing us a favor to check us in, take my call, and speak to me at the desk. The same lady was training another person when I came to the desk several times. Both times she was speaking to the trainee. When I approached she said "I'll be with you in a minute, continued to talk to her trainee and then walked away to the back room. After awhile came out and then helped me. She did this both times. Not sure why but it gave me the impression I was interrupting her day. This lady should not be training others to work the front desk. What made this stand out to me more is the very next day we checked into another Holiday Inn Express and had the complete opposite experience. This falls squarely on the poor management of this hotel. It would have been nice if the lady or the management would have checked in later or at least acted as if the cared about my stay with them.
I joined IHG because of the excellent customer service, reliability, and cleanliness of the rooms. This hotel failed in every way. I regularly use IHG for all my trips and I will not be back to the this hotel. Sad to say I will stay in the hotel next door when I am back in the area.

Holiday Inn Express Peterborough is a family-friendly hotel, near the A1, with free parking. Peterborough train station is a 10-minute drive away, with direct connections to Cambridge and London.
East of England Arena, a 5-minute drive away, hosts events and exhibitions. Peterborough Cathedral, a stunning medieval cathedral, is a 15-minute drive. Nene Valley Railway is a must-visit, offering scenic steam train rides along the River Nene.
Ferry Meadows Country Park features a beautiful park with lakes, meadows, and woodlands, while Railworld Wildlife Heaven has interactive exhibits featuring animals from around the world.
For a taste of local history and culture, the Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery is an excellent choice, with a range of exhibits and displays on the city's past and present. Flag Fen is an archaeological site featuring a Bronze Age causeway and ritual platform.
Sacrewell Elton Hall & Gardens offers a tranquil setting for a peaceful stroll or Burghley House is a stunning Elizabethan mansion with beautiful gardens and grounds to explore.

Room service from all staff lavking

Room spacious, however, multiple things terrible and even though we brought our concerns to the main desk nothing was done. We ordered out and the front desk that they don't deliver upstairs and weren't allowed to come in so I order was canceled. We had to go downstairs to eat and after we asked for our meal we waited over an hour for cold food that was awful and tasted disgusting and was way overpriced. So we left and had to go to a fast food place at 9:30 at night to eat. This is after waiting almost 2 hours total to get food that was awful. Upon checking in our phone was broken and there was no extra pillows or blankets. The room was spacious however don't let that deceive you because the bathroom was filthy had hair in the tub hair on the floor and the toilet was soiled and we let the staff know this waiting for room service to come clean or to give us a clean room and nothing transpired so I had to clean it myself. Never received extra blankets or pillows ask for a room service wake up because the phone was broken and never received the wake up. No one came to check the phone. Never offered a different room. Never offered any compensation for the awful meal. Hotel in my opinion was terribly overpriced for the service we received just because it looks pretty doesn't mean it is don't let that fool you.

Clean and bright but not always friendly

We stayed two nights recently for a wedding. It was a nice hotel but the staff at times was not very helpful or friendly. They seemed too busy to help or answer questions we had.

Like all hotels in the area, this one was packed and overpriced for the EAA event. The staff was very attentive and took care of some mechanical deficiencies in the room quite promptly.

Stay in Southridge

Overall, this hotel is a good stop. The staff was very friendly and check in and out was easy. The room was clean, though somewhat dated. New paint on the walls and some attention to wood finishes would go a long way! And, it did smell a little musty. The air conditioner was pretty loud, which kept me awake on and off throughout the night.
Breakfast choices were a bit limited but this may have been due to COVID restrictions.

Disappointed

I'm an IHG member and this was not the best hotel I've stayed in. Pretty disappointing after a 12 hour drive to see. Not sure I'd stay at this location again
