Worst checkin I've ever experienced. Hotel was not clean. Trash on floors never swept up from Friday thru Sunday morning when I left. Many bags of dirty linen left on floor of 4th floor hallway plus numerous housekeeping carts ( at 6pm on Friday night) This property used to be a go to stay when in Charlotte. Needs new management and someone with some sense of customer service and maintenance.

Dirty and unkept

Room and bathroom were not very clean. Did not want to walk around on the carpet barefoot. Shower curtain had mold and just generally dirty. Gross.

A quiet hotel near Shrewsbury with free Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast included

Me and my partner got the room to enjoy Shrewsbury’s festival, needless to say we needed the sleep in the morning. Check out is at 11am and breakfast is served until 10:30am. The room was overpriced for this hotel’s chain and the room door starts to open by the housekeeping at 8:45!

Double Check what you were charged

Upon Check in we were told a different amount than our confirmation email, about $200! The clerk could not help us and we never spoke to a manager as they were never present. Very disappointed in this. It was hard to enjoy our stay and relax. We would of went elsewhere but this is where our whole group was staying.

Advertised hot breakfast included. There was no breakfast to speak off and no one that had the authority to compensate for lack of breakfast. In my opinion, poor management. I will never stay at a holiday Inn again!

Pros:
1. Connected me to the lobby WiFi so I could work in the lobby.
2. Very nice housekeeping staff
3. Nice pool and outside area
4. They have good coffee and breakfast
Cons:
1. Gave us keys to a dirty room
2. Put us in a different room that did not have a pull out couch like I booked. The front desk said I booked the wrong room without a couch(I apologized and felt so dumb) but I double checked my reservation and it did indeed have the couch- then they were going to put us in the room we originally had keys to that was dirty (which had a couch) but we didn't want to have to move all our stuff. So did I book the right room or not? Seemed dishonest.
Also, the "clean" room had food crumbs and we weren't 100% sure if the bedding had been changed or not. I had them come and clean the dirty microwave and mirrors.
3. WiFi- would not connect to laptops or even the TV so we were not able to use the TV.

It was a really weird stay. I usually don't leave bad reviews. It was one thing after another and I truly am an easygoing guest. Just meet the basics. - Clean rooms, WiFi

The Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Conover, NC is located off I-40 and only a few miles from Hickory and home of Rock Barn Spa & Golf. Whether its golfing, hiking, history, shopping or business that brings you to the Hickory/Conover area, our hotel is the place to stay. We offer regular 2 queen bed and 1 king bedrooms which include a microwave and refrigerator. We also have 2 room suites that offer all the comforts of home with extra amenities including a full kitchen equipped with, full-size refrigerator, microwave/convection oven, and a Keurig Coffee Maker. We are just minutes from area businesses including GKN, Armacell, West Rock, Corning, Sarstedt, Commscope, and several well-known furniture companies, Vanguard, Mitchell-Gold, Bassett and Lee Industries. We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Conover, NC.

Should have know when the greeting was thorough and welcoming that nothing us would be. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was not up to par. There was hair in the tub on the counter and in the refrigerator. When we went downstairs to tell Anthony who was at the front desk, he said he would “make a note of it”.

Comfortable bed, but no service at all.

Expensive room for no service, even after I requested it. I'll choose a cheaper hotel next time where I don't expect any service. Comfy beds, fluffy towels (be sure to hang them up and reuse!). Attractive room. Uninspired breakfast especially getting just the leftovers on Monday. Bad orange juice but coffee was drinkable.

A stylish hotel close to Glasgow, with free Wi-Fi and a pool, hot tub and spa, plus meeting facilities

Comfortable room - very disappointing breakfast.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a large bed and good pillows. The bathroom was very pleasant. However we were really disappointed by the breakfast experience post.
We arrived in plenty of time but despite this there was hardly any food left and it looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. The service area was really dirty. On the whole I would not recommend

The room had a light fixture tha was not woking. the microwave could not close and the light stayed on all night. there was no milk for breakfast and the service on the breakfast room was terrible.
