Not pleased to see this newer Holiday Inn looking so shabby. I reached out to management and front desk regarding the issues shown in the photos and was met with indifference and lack of response. Probably will look elsewhere when passing through next time.

Up it is still wron on here, gave us only 1 key and clearly we were 2 ppl standing in front of him.. just total disregard for us as guests, only complaining because it was just so bad the front desk service and this might be only one emoyee but never had this treatment at any hotel I’ve stayed and I travel alot and have been to 1 star places and gotten better service .. only because of that id rather lose the points and stay elsewhere where at least the minimum service I can receive

Great Staff - US101 Road Noise a Con

The staff at this property were great. However, the road noise from US101 was a major issue. It was like sleeping on the shoulder of a major freeway. This hotel is in great need of soundproofing. I asked to be moved to a more quiet room and unfortunately all quieter rooms were occupied. Also, the breakfast selections were VERY limited. They seemed to be out of everything and there was very little dining space except outside where, again, you were dining with the din of US101.

A quiet hotel near Shrewsbury with free Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast included

Nice Place but…

Returning from two weeks away for work I leaned my AC needed repair. It was a Sunday so I decided to go to a hotel. The price was right on a third party site for the Holiday Inn Express and they accepted dogs with a deposit. I knew it was a brand new facility so I had high hopes. Upon checking in, I learned abruptly that my card would have a deposit hold on it $100 more than other guests not from Little Rock ($50 for them.) When I asked the employee why, she said it was now their policy. She asked me if I had another address. She was not friendly. When I later asked another employee he said I would do the same if I had seen what people have done to their rooms.
I do not recall having to put down such a high deposit locally and I have stayed downtown a number of times in various properties. This really turned me off and the tone in which the news was delivered also was a turn off.
So the Holiday Inn Express is a clean and new facility conveniently located, albeit not on the most inviting block but there are worthwhile stops very nearby. If you’re from at least 30 miles away, I recommend it. If you’re from Little Rock or within those 30 miles, I say find somewhere else.

A few hours after checking into the room, the AC started spewing an awful-smelling smoke smell. We thought for a while it was something outside that was being blown into the room. Once we realized that the smell was coming from the AC unit, we called down to the front desk to ask for help. We were initially told that the hotel was fully booked and that all they could do is refund the room, but a few minutes later the nice gentleman at the front desk was able to find a room next to us that the reservation had fallen through on and they were able to move us. The situation in the second room was better and we moved just before midnight. Neither room was exceptionally clean although the second room overall felt like a better room. There was also a weird smell in the lobby when we checked in. The real letdown came at breakfast when everything- including the stack of bread in the bread case- was empty. On top of this, the pancake machine didn't work, cinnamon rolls were inedible/mush in the middle, the fridge with milks, butters and yogurts was nearly empty, and the drink machine was overflowing. The breakfast area overall just looked nasty and empty despite there being more than an hour and a half left to go for breakfast and it not being crazy busy. It didn't look like there was any attempt made to keep things filled at all and the remaining scraps looked nasty and like you'd get sick off of them. Because of the AC issue that was very concerning (the smell really was that bad) and breakfast was flat unacceptable.

Sheets on one bed stained, a hair stuck to some sort of glue on the shower wall. rooms generally not great looking. comfy beds, nice bar. fine enough place but did not feel like it was worth the cost.
