Dirty Room

When checking in we were greeted nicely and the front desk attendant was very friendly and welcoming. We were assigned a room on the 2nd floor which was nice. When we got to the room the AC would not turn on. I called the front desk and he had me troubleshoot a few times and nothing work. He ended up giving us a new room on the 1st floor. When we got to this room it was very dirty. There were hairballs on the floor in the bathroom. The tiled floors were very dirty. The room smelled very musty. We were not able to relax in this room due to the filth. We did not ask for a new room because we were told it was their last room for the night. Although the front desk attendant was nice and helpful we would not stay here again or recommend it.

Worse customer service I've ever experienced

No towels, no body wash, no Shampoo in the room when arrived. Had to wait 30 minutes or more just to get a person at the front desk even during day-time hours. The front desk was always vacant and had to always ask other employees if Ii could get help.The midnight desk person was absolutely rude and could care less about your issues. Poorly ran hotel with great amenities.

Ok place

Hotel was alright. Good location. There are homeless people in park across street but they didn’t bother anyone. Had problems with housekeeping,never got any even after asking several times. Desk person did bring up towels & did take trash out. If you want clean towels you have to go to front desk & get them. For the price you pay they should bring clean towels to room everyday. Breakfast was ok.

Unfriendly and average at best hotel

Hotel is really showing its age and lack of maintenance. Staff is not attentive at all and not friendly. Pool was cloudy and again seemed to have minimum maintenance. For the price i would go 6-10 miles down the road and stay at a newer hotel.

Dated Rooms, Slow Elevator

Not a great Holiday Inn Express

I overnighted here for work and was disappointed in this particular Holiday Inn Express. This is my hotel chain of choice and having stayed at many other HIE hotels, I can say unequivocally that this one is definitely below average.
To start, the pool was out of order with front desk staff that seemed not to care. Although this is an amenity that I often overlook when traveling solo, this was sorely disappointing this time as I had traveled all day and was looking forward to relaxing in the pool.
After checking in, I parked my car and entered the hotel from a side entrance to get up to my room. In one of the common hallways, I noticed a half-eaten apple core that looked like it had been sitting in the same spot for a few days. It was completely dried up and discarded- should have been thrown out by hotel staff. As I had my hands full, I walked past and didn’t think anything more of it. That was, until the next day when I used the same side entrance and saw that the apple core was in the same spot and had not been cleaned up / thrown away. Gross!
There were neglected maintenance / physical plant issues, to include torn carpet and a shower curtain that should have been upgraded / replaced. The control buttons on the AC/heat were unusable due to the writing having worn off.
At breakfast, the trademark pancake maker was not out and the selection was slim compared to other HIE hotels. The breakfast attendant was pleasant and was trying to keep up- seemed more an issue of just a slimmer selection overall than the attendant not keeping up.
All in all, this was a disappointing stopover trip at a hotel chain that is usually pretty good. I would not stay at this particular hotel again if given the choice.

Poor housekeeping standards

The room was a good size as we booked the two Queen with the pull out sofa suite. We are a family of four with two disabled adults. one who requires extra room for a power chair. That's the only good thing I can say about our stay. The cupboards above the sink/coffee maker had an inch of dust in them and an old towel. Obviously it had not been cleaned in years. Nor had the floor around the front of the fridge. There were also old chips behind the sofa bed that become apparent when you fold it out. Clear water heated in the Keurig came out brown. The back of the "sanitised" bathroom door had dirt/prints all over it. The corners of the bathroom floor around the tub, behind the door and elsewhere, had a yellowish build up of dirt and mold and one corner had HAIRS in it. This floor has not been cleaned properly in a long time, if ever. See photos. So much for the IHG clean promise. The desk staff did offer to have it cleaned up and tell the housekeeping manager, but the point that it should never have been rented out like that seemed to be lost. If the housekeeping manager is that unaware they are not doing their job. We also noticed that the breakfast staff are trying hard but I don't think they had any training or are new to the job as the tables aren't cleaned very well and they are in the way of guests a lot. Cheese omelets are to be avoided at all cost. Looking for a better chain for my Hawaii trip in the fall. WDB

breakfast time

The stay at the hotel was nice however the breakfast time said it started at 0600 and both days I had to wait for the server to open the area past the 0600 time. For Thursday I had to wait until 0610 for her to open the area while other people were waiting as well. And on Friday I had to wait until 0615. As a representative for my company my customers expect me to be at their location on time and when I have to wait, it delays the time I have with my customer which looks bad for me and my company. When the breakfast time says it opens at 0600 or whatever time it is supposed to be open at, I would expect IHG to have personnel that are competent and capable of making sure the respective areas are ready and open when they should be. The hotel stay should present a positive experience of being punctual to the occupants especially those with status like myself and not one that is unreliable.
