Candlewood Suites Birmingham/Homewood , we put the amenities where they really count – in your room. Our guests can cook meals in their fully equipped kitchen, relax in the overstuffed recliner while watching movies from our movie library. Business travelers will work more efficiently utilizing the executive desk and free Wi-Fi. Candlewood Suites offers spacious hotel suites for those booking an extended stay while in Birmingham . We are within walking distance to many local favorite restaurants. We offer a fully stocked Candlewood Cupboard that provides breakfast, lunch and dinner options, as well as sodas, snacks and ice cream. We provide our guests a free fitness center and an on-site laundry room. Much larger than the average hotel room and significantly more affordable than a corporate apartment, our suite hotel in Birmingham is the perfect “home away from home” for relocation, project, temporary assignment or training needs. Horrible experience

I'm recommending to my company's corporate office NOT to allow any company employees to be booked at this location the management staff is extremely lacking in customer service skills and problem solving there were many issues that never got resolved and forced us to look for accommodations elsewhere

Bad Experience

Not acknowledged as ELITE MEMBER. MADE TO WAIT A LONG TIME FOR ROOM. TV DID NOT WORK. REPORTED AND NOTHING DONE. SHOWER HANDLE WAS LOOSE AND BARELY FUNCTIONAL. AT CHECKOUT, THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A PAPER BILL. THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT AN IGH property.

Comfortable bed but horrible bed and dirty bathroom

The room itself was fine but stains and hair in the bathroom. No bathroom amenities, only a soap pump. Way overpriced for what you get. The food at dinner was just a joke. Don’t take the room with dinner. The food is horrendous. There is a nice pub (Archer) and Indian restaurant next to it, both a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Eat dinner there. Breakfast was basic. No cheeses or ham, for example.

Needs renovating bad

Outside appearance was disturbing, run down and actually looked closed and very old. Landscaping over grown.

Pool area- was not cleaned during our stay, dirty towels were left on chairs over night , hot tub was disgusting and needed cleaning.

Our suite had a couple bugs climbing up the wall next to bed and when I showed pictures to front desk the response was " Well it happens this time of year (it was August) and after all you were on lower floor"

Never acknowledged as a IHG member, which is trivial but true

Little did I know my inexpensive stay at Holiday Inn Express in San Antonio would result in an infested room. Small, medium, large, I slew them as they appeared…in bed, on the walls, on tabletops, toilet, sink rim, and tub. Yet, it was not enough. I awoke with two making a trail on my skin. I should have demanded a new room, but I was too tired. What a disappointment

Customer Service needs to be addressed

Some of the staff needs to be trained on the customer service side of the business, and never tell the customer no when it is a reasonable request for clean towels for example
