We had to wait until nearly midnight for room!

We tried to check in at 5:30pm, but our room was not ready. We were told the room would be available soon. The wait continued, all the while being told the room was almost ready. Finally after waiting in the lobby for hours, we were able to check in at 11:45pm. Additionally, we had a reservation for a king suite, but ended up with a 2 queen standard room.

Corporate businesses and New York City are close to this Woodbridge Hotel.
On your next trip to New Jersey, consider staying with us at the Holiday Inn Express Woodbridge. With close proximity to many area businesses as well as Manhattan, this is a perfect place to stay for any business or leisure traveler.
Our hotel in Woodbridge, New Jersey is conveniently located just off the New Jersey Turnpike and is only a 10 minute drive from Metro Park Station and a 20 minute drive from Newark International Airport (EWR). Our Woodbridge hotel is also one hour from both LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

There was NOTHING sweet about this Suite!

I paid for a suite expecting a higher standard of comfort, cleanliness, and safety, but my experience fell far below what any guest should encounter.
To be completely transparent, the condition of the hotel was deplorable and absolutely not reflective of the price I paid. The suite I reserved was anything but “sweet,” and the experience from start to finish was unacceptable.
Here are the issues I encountered during my stay:
The front desk staff was unprofessional and unhelpful at check-in. The room was dirty and poorly maintained. Lighting throughout the suite was dim and inadequate. The bathroom was extremely dirty, including a shower drain that appeared never to have been cleaned, mold-like buildup on the shower doors and base, and other concerning signs of neglect. The carpet had a strong, unpleasant odor.
There was no bottled water in the refrigerator.
The air vent directly in front of the bed was filthy and blowing directly onto the sleeping area, which I believe contributed to my becoming sick following my stay.

In addition to the unacceptable condition of the room, I felt genuinely unsafe on the property. When I returned to the hotel late that evening after my event, individuals were loitering and smoking outside near the entrance. As I hurried to get inside, I found the second set of glass doors locked. Disturbingly, the front desk staff member stood on the other side watching me instead of immediately letting me in. This delay in access made me feel even more unsafe and added unnecessary anxiety to what was already an upsetting experience.

Not upto IHG international standards

Not good Experience this time at IHG Holiday Inn ……
I have stayed at different other IHG Holiday Inn hotels including Portsmouth and Doncaster earlier this year and last year. The standards were very high but at Wakefield M1 Junction Holiday Inn was not upto IHG standards. Rooms carpets were not cleaned. Some Towels have marks on them. Bathroom floor and shower area was not properly cleaned.
I will not recommend my friends or family to visit there.
I have asked the receptionist who sounds Eastern European accent to change my rooms as they are not upto standards but she refused to help me.

Dirty room, no toilet paper

My shower was gross.black hair in shower and stuck to conditioner bottle on wall. White gunk on shower wall. Absolutely no toilet paper or tissues. No trash bags. Set ac at 65 and it maybe got to 75 at coolest. Waited till 6:45 for breakfast to open then was told oven was broken and no eggs or any meat. Asked guy at front desk to have manager call and of course no one did. Called back later on and talked to a lady. Asked her again and of course no manager call. I travel a lot and till is by far my worst experience at a holiday inn.App is not letting me upload pics.

Biggest issue was the compact layout. Everything was in the way of something. You couldn't have the bathroom door ope. And use the fridge or microwave at the same time

Ants infested nightstand, found ants in bed also. Have yet to be issued refund for stay. Location was decent but the ant thing really ruined the experience for me.

Good location - staff needs improvement

While the rooms and the location worked well for our weekend away, I have to say that I encountered issues with my booking that were not resolved on site.
My original booking was for 2 night under 2 reservations due to using points and a free night award.
However this seemed to be too complex for the staff to coordinate.
The errors in my reservation were not solved during the weekend and resulted in being double charged after the fact. Disappointing to have to spend so much time resolving this error.

Not the room I reserved

I reserved a double queen. When I checked in they gave me a king. That was not going to work for us. I checked my reservation the day before check in just to make sure. It was still the double queen. sometime the next day it was switched at the hotel. The manager did comp my stay but I still lost out on the nights stay and points. I book Holiday inn for those. This was with work so we had to share and my work got the benefits.
Just irritating that we didn't get the rewards.

. What a let down on our visit to Chester.The hotel is in dire need of a refurbishment which is obvious on from exterior. The breakfast was really poor and badly presented and the staff very lethargic. The eggs were the worst I have even seen and the coffee undrinkable on top of that no orange juice. The hotel is badly managed that is evident. Dirty windows, dirty doors in the communal areas and the tables in the breakfast area were sticky. After this experience. I would be reluctant to use Holiday inns in future.
