Welcome to the renovated Holiday Inn Express Richmond Midtown. We are less than 3 miles from the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University and 5 miles from Downtown Richmond and Short Pump Town Center. We welcome students and their families coming to visit the home of the Spiders and Rams, as well as business travelers visiting for a convention, training, or meeting. Poor communication and service

After a 6 hour drive we arrived after 9 pm only to find out at check-in the the hotel key card system has been down for the past three days with no notification from the property ahead of time so we could make different arrangements. Instead they let us drive all the way and as compensation for the inconvenience said they would waive the cancellation fee if we wanted to go to another hotel. The problem was we looked for another hotel and there were no vacancies with in a reasonable distance and we were too exhausted from traveling to drive any further. The staff at check-in was rude and did not recognize we as a rewards member. Breakfast was always ready at least an hour late and they ran out of food every day after about 39 minutes of opening. The employees kept telling everyone that their boss would not let her put anymore food out because he didn’t want to waste it or pay for it. So, everyone morning we got to wake up with no breakfast and listen to all the guests complain about it.

Fraud

I stayed at this hotel several times before for work. My receipt and company credit card charges always matched up. This time they do not. I called and spoke to the manager and she continuously told lies to get me off the phone. Like the accidental charge was $25 when in fact it is $75 at every hotel I stay including this one. But she said that so the price difference of what my card was charged would align. The accidental charge made my total $784.95. At check out it was removed and my receipt shows a charge of $709.95 but the final charge to my COMPANY CREDIT CARD was $728.78. Now how does that make sense?!? Now either the system glitched or somebody at that hotel thought they could get away with using my card! So since the manager gave me lies I have to now escalate this matter because my Expense Department now needs to be made aware because I don’t care if it is $1 that is stealing if the charges cannot be accounted for! If this is not figured out the escalated option will be filed charges and an international ban of use of this particular hotel. Which means a loss of Millions of dollars a year over someone trying to get away with stealing $18.83. Hope it’s a glitch but the investigation through my company will be initiated today. Always check your receipt and how much they actually charge your card.

MY MAIN REASON FOR STAYING AT HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS IS THE MORNING BREAKFAST. ON THE MORNING OF MY LAST VISIT THERE WAS NO COFFE, NO BACON, NO SAUSAGE AND NO EGG OMELETS.
THE CLEANING STAFF WAS CLEANING ROOMS AND TRYING TO STAFF THE KITCHEN. LEFT HUNGRY AND UPSET.

We are also just minutes away from the famous Betty's Tea Room, pop in for an afternoon tea or just grab one of their famous Fat Rascals
. Our hotel has 100 modern bedrooms with free Wi-Fi , comfy beds and walk-in showers. We also offer 3 meeting rooms with free Wi-Fi, accommodating up to 60 guests, and can tailor the layout to best suit your needs.
Start your day with a hot buffet breakfast in our restaurant which is also open for dinner and kid's eat free. In the hotel bar, you can enjoy a snack or unwind with friends or family over a drink. Feel like staying in? Enjoy a meal from the room service menu.

Disappointed

Not sure where to start really but this was such a disappointing stay.
Room
- king size bed but double size duvet which didn't even cover the width of the bed.
- pillows were very very hard and uncomfortable
- toilet took about 20 minutes to flush which was really annoying in the night.
- skirting board coming away from the walls
- carpet needed relacing
- shower mouldy
- room was absolutely freezing, amended thermostat but took forever to get warm.

On a positive, the staff all seemed nice and the location was good but I was just really disappointed as it wasn't cheap and it was a special trip so really looked forward to a nice hotel stay.

Pipes rattle in the ceiling on 6th floor. Hot tub always broken.

I stay here often for work. Their is a sign on the front desk saying the hot tub heater is broken. The sign has been there for about a year now, with no end in sight. The HVAC units are loud and the rooms are dry. I stayed on the 6th floor this stay, and the pipes would bang in the ceiling (top floor above a hatch). Overall, we stay here for work, and the lobby is comfortable, the rooms are average. Housekeeping is inconsistent, and they are often out of shampoo or coffee.

Wad not worth the 40,000, pounts I used.
They put me near the elevator and in my profile I asked not to be near an elevator and the view was bad.
I also have in my profile to be on higher floor.
They didn't tell where the breakfast was, or the pool and gym.

Fresh, clean and uncomplicated, the Holiday Inn Express Edmonton Downtown hotel offers competitive business travel rates. We know what business travelers want when they travel, seven meeting rooms with our hidden gem City View Ballroom seat up to 160 people, and we’ll even handle your catering needs. We have free high-speed, wired, and wireless internet access throughout the hotel. There’s also a 24-hour business centre, and we include our complimentary hot breakfast buffet and easy access to the Continental Restaurant and the Coffee Shop in the hotel.
Also, 90% of our rooms feature a balcony: additional amenities includes steam rooms, gym & Swimming Pool. We are in the heart of downtown and a 5-minute walk to several government offices of Alberta; Enbridge is only two blocks away, and we are steps from the ATCO offices. The closest (LRT) underground Transit is one block away. We are within easy access to The University of Alberta, and the Shaw Conference Centre is only a 4-minute drive. Room Cold

I’ve stayed here numerous times, and this is the only time where my stay was horrible.
Customer Service gave me attitude about the service being the same for 2 years, despite me stating I have been staying at this location every time I come to Edmonton
We were in an extreme cold weather and the room was cold. Maintenance did say they fixed the problem, but it was still cold
I recently tried to do a walk in check in and was told there are no clean rooms available .
I will not be staying here again
