Disbelief

My entire stay was great and so was the front desk personnel , until the morning. I reserved 4 rooms. In the AM I went down to get breakfast and bring it back to eat comfortably in my room as I always do in every hotel I stay at. For me, walking down to get my breakfast gives me anxiety but I fight the feeling because I know it’ll be quick. However, as I’m walking back to the elevator I'm stopped and called back to the breakfast area by Jerry. In front of a crowded breakfast room he confronted me and told me I can’t take food upstairs there are signs everywhere that states that. I explained I thought the signs referred to the fancy sitting living area they had not my room. He said no I can’t take it to my room because of spills and mess. I felt devastated just thinking about how hard it’ll be eating in that crowded room even after that embarrassing encounter with Jerry in front of everyone . I placed my food down and left it behind and went back to my room. As I got to my room I broke down and cried because of the overwhelming incident I encountered and after still having to starve. I’m all for keeping a hotel clean but limiting your guests embarrassing them and making them go without food should not be the solution. As management there has to be other solutions than putting guest members through these experiences. I mean let’s say I just brought in fast food and took it to my room and accidentally dropped my drink, well it happens. Accidents happen maybe try placing lids for the cups or provide to go plates to prevent the problem. I don’t know, that’s not my job to figure out. BUT , LIMITING YOUR GUESTS SHOULD NOT BE A SOLUTION.

With my visit this time felt like I got attitude from both ladies that checked me in. When I came down I asked for a extra set of towels since there was only 1 towel of each in my room and I got another attitude from her which I’ve never experienced this with my other stay I had here. I didn’t know it was such a hassle if it was two guests staying that night. Just disappointed ☹️ and also other guest just running down the hall way is very disrespectful to others.

Hotel amenities are very minimal, not a place to sit and meet with friends. No bar and terrible food. Pool not appealing. Exercise facilities are minimal. Outside needs cleaning up. I heard that the parking was expensive but I did not need parking so don’t know how expensive it was.

Stay away from this Holiday Inn Express

I highly recommend anyone who is considering staying here consider another location, as this should be a last resort. The staff is very unhelpful when there is an issue, and they clearly do not effectively communicate. The hotel was freezing, and the HVAC system was broken. The second room we were put into was more comfortable, but the lighting in the bathroom nearly caused additional health issues.

BED BUGS- STAY AWAY!

Within 3 hours we found the following issues: front desk poorly staffed creating a 20 minute wait to checkin (our actual check in took about 2 minutes). This was at 4:30pm on a Friday. The phone didn't work and most of the lights didn't work. At first the room appeared clean, but the hotel overall didn't. Upon further inspection we found the room unclean and ultimately found many bed bugs!
We notified the front desk of each problem as they occurred, with no help by them to fix any problem. We promptly checked out when we saw the bed bugs and had to find another property that would take us last minute during a busy weekend. The front desk said they would give us some points to make up for it, BUT STILL CHARGED US! They charged us full price for a bed bug ridden room, and ended up not giving us points or even emailing/calling us back. I will never stay in another similar hotel again! We are long time reward members but I'll be switching after this.

Rude Front Desk Personnel

This is my second night stay over the St Patrick's weekend.
During my 1st night (14 Mar) I had made a request for early check-in for 2nd night stay (16 Mar). I do understand that it's on best effort basis. No issues.
I arrived at 2pm on 16th Mar to check-in, was told that the room is not ready and was promised should be ready by 3pm. So, I had my lunch at the restaurant and at 2.55pm went back to the front desk to inquire about the room availability. I was told the room was not available yet as they are still getting the room ready. As I was inquiring about the duration of wait as it is already 3pm, a gentlemen got involved in the discussion and told me to wait in the restaurant and he will get me the key card once the room is ready in a "few minutes".
The tone was rude and to avoid any unpleasant event, I decided to wait at the restaurant. At 3.20pm, I just got tired of waiting and approached the front desk again only to be told the room is not ready and all I heard is excuses why the room is not ready at 3pm. Finally, I got the room at 3.30pm.
As a Platinum customer, I do not like the tone of the front desk person and the way I was treated to the incident.
I believe this will be the last time I will be staying at the Intercontinental Dublin unless I get a decent response.

Several Non-working Things in the Room

The TV didn’t work. The coffee maker didn’t work. The blow dryer didn’t work, then I finally realized the blow dryer worked, but the plug didn’t and it wouldn’t reset. Staff was sent to deal with all this, but that meant for a 2 night stay, I had 4 different staff members in my room dealing with the fact that so many things weren’t working. The man who worked on the TV didn’t know why it wasn’t working and he was unable to fix it so it would work for me. The lady who tried to fix the coffee maker, ultimately just replaced it. She was very sweet, but I didn’t get her name. Another woman was trying to help too. The man who came about the plug didn’t speak English and I was unable to communicate that at this point I was over an hour late for a meeting and needed him to leave so I could finish getting dressed. I asked him 3 times and thought he understood, but he wouldn’t leave. I finally had to call the front desk so they could get him out of my room. In spite of the fact that they knew the stuff not working and dealing with them trying to fix it made me very late, I didn’t even get an apology. The last time I stayed there, my husband (who is in a wheelchair) was with me, and the elevator was broke the entire time. Again - no apology for the fact that only one elevator worked and we repeatedly had a line to get on it.

Horrible customer service!

This was the absolute worst hotel experience we have ever had. The location is fantastic, but that’s all you can say for it. The rooms are tiny. The carpet and floors in the lobby, elevators and hallways were filthy! On the second night of our stay, our room did not get serviced and when we asked for clean towels and wash cloths at the front desk we were told they didn’t have any. Sorry about your luck, basically!! WE HAD NOTHING TO SHOWER WITH! I have called IHG 4 times, waited on hold over 2 hours in those four calls, emailed the manager directly, called the hotel directly and left a message. No one will return my emails or calls.

Needs Improvement

Initial check in staff were super annoyed that we checked in at 2am "i don't know why you are getting here so late".
Then we requested towels because the ones we had were stained, front desk asked us "well how bad are they".
Finally we asked not once, not twice, but 3 separate times to have our room cleaned one of the days. "Ugh Mr you need to understand we are understaffed and can't ask our cleaners to get to every room".
Great value but terrible service and customer care, one the absolute worst properties I've stayed at in 20 years.
