Not a good place

Don't know what is going on at this hotel - no A/C; lights in elevator were not working; one other guest told us they didn't have hot water (thankfully we did); breakfast was very minimal and there were rooms that were taped over.

great location, expensive parking and cleaning fee

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had hoped for. While the location is certainly excellent—conveniently close to restaurants and the metro station—that's where the positives end.
The water pressure in the bathroom was extremely low, to the point where it was almost unusable. It was about one-fifth of what I’m used to at home, and on top of that, the water temperature was cold, which made for an uncomfortable shower experience.
I was also surprised by the additional $20 parking fee per day, which felt way too high for the service provided. To top it off, they charged me a $20 cleaning fee just for emptying the trash can! I expected at least a basic cleaning of the room, but they didn’t even change the bed sheets.
Overall, the quality of service did not match the price, and I left feeling quite disappointed. Would not recommend unless you're okay with paying high fees for minimal comfort.

Not well kept and under resourced

Rooms and overall facility need a thorough cleaning. The room itself was very dingy and dirty from stains and drippings on the bathroom walls/cabinets, main room etc. very humid. Laundry facility very dirty. Only two towels were available for our family if 4 for our two night stay. Staff said they had no more towels. It seemed there were vagrants in the lobby.

Worse stay I've experienced at any hotel.

Apon arrival to check to the hotel for our 1-night stay on the 22nd of March 2025, my wife, 10-year-old son and I were help at the check-in counter by employees wearing cargo style jogging pants and t-shirts. It took quite a while to be checked in a given a room. We walked down the hall as this was a first-floor room and used the key to get in, only to be startled by someone already staying in that room. All three of us walked back to the front desk to explain what had happened. We waited several more minutes to be given a key to our new room, now on the 3rd floor. My family all got in the elevator to got to the room. When we got to the room my wife decided to knock as she was uncomfortable about walking in on someone again. Some actually came to the door as they had already been checked into that room as well. We all loaded back in the elevator to go back down to the front desk. We again explained the situation and asked that someone please check the next room before we go to make sure it is unoccupied. We wait several more minutes once again. When we are waiting the front desk employee says to make sure and call to speak with the Manage on Monday and he make up for their mistakes during check-in. After finally being given our 3rd room key, we go and get into our room. We then go down to the pool area which was overcrowded extremely loud and hot. We didn't last long in the pool with our son due to these conditions. Once back to our room we decide to watch some TV to relax before we go to sleep. While watching the TV cable keeps losing signal. I call to let them know about the issue. After about 20 minutes maintenance shows up, but the cable is working at that time, so he does nothing. It continues to cut in and out until we decide to just turn it off. During this time messing with the cable my wife decides to use the microwave to heat up some food. This thing was so loud it scared all of us. She had to stand and hold it in place to quite it down and prevent it from shaking the stand it was on and potentially vibration off. Last but not least there were children and adults running our hallway all night long, which prevented any of us from getting a good night's sleep. Moving forward, over the last 8 plus days we have been trying to deal with the hotel directly and IHG corporate to help resolve the issues with our stay. We could not reach the hotel manager, kept being told he was in meeting and sent to his voicemail, which stated his mailbox was full. So, we reached out to IHG and they offer us what we considered a small number of reward points, that we declined and stated were unacceptable and would like a full refund and additional points. We were told that is all they could offer in points and if we wanted a refund, we would have to deal directly with the hotel we stayed at. It is now the 2nd of April 2025 and we do not have a refund or any points as the hotel say they can't help us because IHG issued us points (which they can see in our account we do not have) and IHG says we need to deal with the hotel directly. Neither side wants to take responsibility for the shortcomings of this hotel chain. As the customer it has now been well over a week of continued unacceptable service and disrespect by the IHG hotel chain and the Holiday Inn Express, Syracuse Airport location. We will not be staying at any more hotels associated with this chain and would recommend you do the same. I would rate all areas lower but have to select something for the customer experience.

Attention to details

Our stay was fine, not great and not terrible. Out of all the Holiday Inn Expresses we've stayed at this was the most disappointing.
Check in was efficient, which was great. However, little things after that were not. The garages in the lobby were overflowing, I'm guessing from breakfast that morning (we checked in around dinner time).
We got to the room and the cups were out of the plastic so we threw them away. The rest of the room seemed okay.
The room also had three towels, not four. Again, not a big deal but annoying.
When we went to the pool it was very cold (not heated) and the hot tub was broken. There were also no towels.
Then breakfast came and the assortment of food was adequate but not like the several Holiday Inns that we've stayed at.
Overall it was an okay stay but for the price and the little things missed I would not recommend.

A little run down

The outside of the hotel was nice and the area was convenient. When we walked into the room there was a HUGE wet spot on the carpet. The shower was horrible. The water pressure was poor and the water was COLD.

Feel like family with the staff at Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown and let our hotel become home away from home while visiting the area to take in a game at the Lucas Oil Stadium, the Gainbridge Field House, Victory Field, or the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Champs, our on-site restaurant where kids eat free, is open daily for breakfast and dinner. Our guest rooms are equipped with modern amenities and all include a mini-refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Our indoor swimming pool and gym are available complimentary for all guests, as well as Wi-Fi throughout the building. Somewhat Disappointing

We stayed at this Holiday Inn for three nights for our daughter’s volleyball tournament. I entitled this review “somewhat disappointing” because there were a couple of exceptions to the overall disappointing stay. The exceptions were the staff as we checked on the evening of Thursday, March 20th and the staff that kept the public areas clean. Both were kind, warm, and welcoming. However, the light shining in the parking lot that our room faced was incredibly bright and the shade wasn’t large enough to block it out. My bed squeaked every time I moved. The coffee pods and condiments in my room were never replenished. Spa and pool looked fine but were deemed “closed.” Upon check out on Sunday, March 23rd, the staff person was cold and unhelpful. Not someone you should have working directly people. She gave one word answers to my questions if that. When I asked if I could possibly get a later checkout, she just slowly shook her head. No, “I’m so sorry, but we are unable to accommodate that request, etc.” just a slow head shake and pursed lips. I recognize that all of us have bad days but you need staff that can shift into a hospitality gear since they are in the hospitality industry.

Bad Breakfast Service!

We went to the breakfast and no one was there to seat anyone.so we sat down and served our Buffett. Then Alto came over and yelled at us that we should have waited longer for him. This was in front of our two young grandchildren who got scared by the mean man.
Then when we asked for coffee at 9AM we were told they were out even though they still had one hour to go and 5 new tables. No milk for the cereal.
Not what I would expect at an IHG hotel where I paid $40 for breakfast.
We stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience but this time not the best. When we told the front desk it was as if this wasn’t the first complaint.
Then when we asked for coffee at 9AM we were told they were out even though they still had one hour to go and 5 new tables. No milk for the cereal.

Small room for being a King Standard

I didn't measure, but overall but a king size bed the room is small. We felt cramped. We had an ant INFESTATION and moldy shower that we didn't use.

Decent for price

Here's the thing, I stayed here twice and to say the 2nd time was just terrible... the list: mirrors weren't cleaned, faucet wasn't cleaned in bathroom, sheets were taken off because I spilt coffee on them and put back on the bed when housekeeping came in. The ice bucket I used was never changed, there was trash by the elevator that was there for 2 weeks. The breakfast place was empty yet there was food all over the floor. And worse of all, it had a tip jar out at the breakfast nook. I'm not tipping someone who makes breakfast out of a bag and doesn't even serve tableside. The hostess (except the one I checked in with), was rude and annoyed when I'd go to the counter and asked for toilet paper or to have them actually clean my sheets. I'm just very disappointed. Will not be staying there any more!
