Bad Service

This first time became disappointing from IHG hotels for couple of reasons:
1- Most of time only one person serving in front desk.
2- before reserve I tried to call the front desk multiple time no answer, after that request the manager which who serve me.
3- unable to redeem the voucher from application since only can be from front desk which the redeem it with different currency rate than the application.
4- am not receive email to write my review staying after checkout

Outdated Climate Control

The room was updated very nicely although the climate control was old and very loud. No thermostat on the wall. You had to control the temps from the unit which is at the window.

Bath Tub needs cleaning

Concierge was friendly and helpful. Room was overall neat, there was a toothbrush in the bathroom garbage can, the bathtub however, needs to either replaced, deep cleaning --something needs to be done with it.

Barely working A/C and nightmare parking

Disappointing experience

As a platinum elite member, I've had consistently positive experiences at IHG hotels across the country. However, our recent stay at the IHG in Grovetown was a letdown.
Note If traveling with a service dog, have paperwork ready.
We were visiting our three grandkids, and I called ahead was placed on hold for 30 minutes I needed to confirm that our room could accommodate five adults. The front desk assured me that the room had two queens and a couch pullout. However, upon arrival, we found only a chair with a bad stain on it and no pullout couch.
I requested a room upgrade to a suite and was told nothing was available they did offered to rent us two separate rooms. I told them we’d have one of the girls sleep on the floor!
A few moments later I had my granddaughter use her cellphone to called the front desk she discovered that multiple suites were available.

I was disappointed by the manager's lack of transparency and poor communication. In contrast, the front desk staff, particularly Truth, was friendly and helpful.
This experience fell short of IHG's usual standards. I hope the hotel will take steps to improve communication, transparency, and customer service.

A mixed feeling

The staff were very helpful, they needed to be. It was difficult to find our way around the hotel and a PRINTED map would have been very useful. As we were in an "annex" room we had lifts and corridors to get used to which were challenging.
The room itself was fine, but the lighting controls were a nightmare which we never really mastered. Again, written instructions would have helped. Perhaps these were available on the room's Ipad but we could not switch it on. High tech is not restful if it is not user friendly. A rethink should be done.

noise under door was not good but breakfast attendant was best ever, overall hotel good value. Price paid with good facility it good stay. Recommend hotel for value stay. Good breakfast with great staff.

Changed policy on airport transportation and didn't notify us

I booked 2 separate nights at this hotel for our cruise. Night before our cruise and the day our cruise returned. When I booked the hotel it had 24/7 transportation to and from the airport and this was still the case on the day we arrived. Upon checking in for our return night 5 days later they asked if we would need an airport shuttle. I told them yes we would need one at 4:30AM. They said actually we just changed our policy and only run shuttles from 7:30AM to 10PM. I said the only reason I booked this hotel was because it had 24/7 shuttle service. I asked them if there was anything they could do like covering the cost of the taxi, etc... since when I booked and literally 5 days before it was 24/7 and they said no. They told me there was no manager i could talk to about the situation. I called IHG to get a resolution and they told me someone would contact me within 24 hours. It's been 42 hours and no one from IHG or the hotel has contacted me.

Horrible Bed and No Closet

I stayed for two nights at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Brookhaven, MS. This is the second Holiday Inn in the general area that disappointed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and nice. It wasn't the staff, or the cleanliness.
It seems that Holiday Inn is going to start offering the cheapest and firmest of beds. I had the same bed experience at the Byram, MS location. I used to be able to go to Holiday Inn Express confident I would get a comfortable bed and a good night's sleep. It was impossible at this location. I felt like my back and sides had bruises by the time I left after my second night. If I had to stay one more night, I would have changed to a different hotel.
Additionally, there was no closet in my room. This was inconvenient for a business traveler that needed to hang up clothes.
The walls were paper thin. I could hear my nextdoor neighbor walk in her room.
This Holiday Inn Express was also the most expensive one of the brand. The same hotel in Ridgeland/Jackson is cheaper and far more comfortable. Their beds are a much better quality. As an IHG member who tries to be loyal to this brand, I'm disappointed.
