Very Dirty Room

My room was very dirty. I believe the sheets on the pull out were from the last guest. The shower had so much hard water buildup that was basically unusable and I spent the first several minutes scraping it off. I paid extra for a room with a jet tub and it was pretty gross. Not happy about that. The curtains were torn. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

Richmond, VA All Suite Hotel
Situated on the south side of the River City, the Candlewood Suites® Richmond - South hotel provides a convenient location just 6 miles from downtown and right off I-95. We are an all-suite property, offering studios and one bedroom suites. If it wasn't late we would have left

Upon arrival, 4 hours after check in time, my family was given a room that was dirty, contained trash, the bed was unchanged, and the tv was on. My family, with 2 children, had to wait for the front desk to find another room. While it was better, I am unsure if it was cleaned or if it was hurriedly put together before we walked in.

Horrible experience

We booked a two room suite for a one night travel layover - three adults/two small pups, needing the pullout bed in the couch for the third person. The experience was awful. The pool (which we were really looking forward to) was closed for repairs. In a very empty looking hotel, they put us in the room at the back, next to the stairwell and construction worker entrance/exit. The alarm clocks didn’t work, the tv was stuck on Spanish mode, the ice maker in the freezer was broken. Found a pitcher to maybe get some ice and the lid had yellow sticky gelatinous goop on it (gross). There was no safety latch on the door. Here’s the worst part. Midnightish rolls around and we pull the sofa bed out. It was disgusting on the underside, but we thought maybe the sleeping side would be better. WRONG - it was covered in really nasty stains. At that point, all of our stuff was unpacked, so changing rooms would not be an option. I ended up trying to sleep on the couch itself, to no avail. In the morning, I stopped at the front desk on the way out to tell them about everything and to suggest that they throw away that couch mattress. The front desk clerk said he would talk to the manager and have him get in touch with me. We’ll, it’s been a week and there is radio silence. We booked a VRBO for the return trip. Buyer beware.

The Holiday Inn & Suites Boca Raton North is nestled inside the peaceful Park of Broken Sound. We are located minutes from downtown Boca Raton and less than a mile from Canon, Johnson Controls and the Boca Raton Innovation Campus. We are centrally located near both Palm Beach International Airport and Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport.
If you are staying with us for a night or a month you will enjoy that each of our guestrooms are two room suites equipped with a sofa sleeper, work area, two televisions, a Keurig coffeemaker, refrigerator and microwave. Had to wait for room

We did not mind waiting for a room, but when we got to the assigned room, there was no shower gel, shampoo, or soap, and the floors dirty. The shower was not cleaned properly, and there were no cups for the coffee maker. I have been a member of the IHG Hotel and Resorts for years, and this is by far the worst one we have ever stayed in. It was not worth the price at all.

The front desk representative who was expecting because I can’t remember names started with a T., was absolutely amazing. She explained the elevator being out of service and made it feel welcoming. We got in late and I would have definitely looked for another hotel. The cleaning service on the second floor ensured you got no extra sleep, never experienced this.

lack of leadership

i travel much for work and being a gold member, i always stays at holidays inn wherever i go. this one in Jacksonville is a bit different i think cause due lack of mgmt or leadership.
During Covid you have to stop by the desk and let them know you need the room to be cleaned each day. after covid this requirement is gone in most hotels but here no, it is still there. i have to leave every day early and normally there is nobody at the desk so every day when i am back my room is not made. there is no sign at desk or a way this is communicated to customers when you check in. in the elevator the level 1 button light is not working. one day i noticed the toilet water was running continuously so i let the person at the desk know and she took note. but next day it was not fixed. other day the room had smoking odor and asked to get the room changed, i normally stay here all the time cause there are not many options in this town and i hope something can be done.

Rude reception.

While it did provide a clean bed to sleep in, overall experience was poor. Between the rude desk clerk and some amenities not working, I can't recommend this property. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn properties that were excellent, but this one does not follow suit.

Very Loud/poor signage

We had a really difficult time finding wear to park and how to get into the hotel due to construction. It was really frustrating, especially having 3 kids in tow.
The hotel is right by the highway, so it’s very loud and difficult to sleep.
There were no linens for the pullout and couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone to have some sent up to the room.
Breakfast was chaos, and the staff seemed preoccupied with the baseball team that was occupying most of the space to help anyone else.
Not family friendly.

Need staff improvements

The breakfast was terrible. The entire outside of the hotel smelled of marijuana and the staff did as well. I’m normally recognized as an IHG member and was not. I asked about possibly upgrading my room, the lady immediately responded with nothing is available. Which is odd considering earlier that day I received an email asking if I wanted to upgrade. The only reason why I couldn’t do it through the email is because the system was booting me out. I know I won’t be staying at this one again.

Extra Cleaning

I have now stayed their twice within two weeks. The first room I received had a horrible stain on the carpet so they put the chair over the stain. Then the curtains were stained extremely bad like a previous guest spilled something all over it. The wall paper had rips in the wall and just looked like it needed a deep cleaning. The second time I stayed there the room smelled like someone had just smoked a bunch of cigarettes. I tried to use the hot tub but I guess the door was broken so someone had to let us in. The hot tub was nice, but definitely needed to be cleaned. There was a bunch of sand on the bottom and the sides were black because they needed a deep cleaning. I used to love this hotel but really needs a better housekeeping department or finish their renovation.
