Was surprised that we had to pay extra for a horrible breakfast

We got to the hotel at 2:50pm, check in is 3pm. They made us wait until 3pm to check in. The room had some cleaning issues with dirty walls and floors dirty. The staff were very nice. They were the best part of our stay. Now to the very disappointing breakfast that I had to pay extra for, no eggs, no biscuits for the biscuits and gravy. My husband received a napkin but I didn’t because they were out?!?! You’re given 1 plate and you have to reuse it if you want to go back up. Not much to choose from. We have stayed at several Holiday Inns and the breakfasts are usually very good, not this one. This was our first time in Troy and if we come back we will stay at a different hotel.

Very Generic Hotel

I would not recommend this place unless it’s a quick layover. Internet was constantly getting disconnected, the pool is closed even though it’s advertised as open, etc.

Ouch!

We have stayed at this property before. But In room 326 as soon as I stepped in the tub my feet flew out from underneath me and I landed on the floor. I mentioned to the lady at the desk and hopefully it’s been addressed. This has never happened to me before and my balance is very good.

I had a fantastic stay at the Crowne Plaza! From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. Their friendly and professional service truly set the tone for a great experience. The hotel's location is also super convenient, making it easy to explore the area and get around. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

The last time I stayed here was 9 years ago. This time was much different. The hotel says newly remodeled but it does not look or feel that way. I was let down that I chose this one.

Old hotel and cold dated rooms

Stayed for 1 night, never again.
From being checked in the hotel was empty and I can see why.
No thank for being an IHG Diamond member.
Walked into my room after tripping over old carpets in the hallway that are very old, the room was cold so tried to use the air con.
Went back down to reception to ask to change room as was told the hotel was full, unbelievable, I think I had seen 4 people my whole night.
Was given a heater for my room as air con was not working.
Appliance out of date for health and safety checks in the room and very dated, the hotel needs help.
This hotel could be great if it was modernised and staff would tell the truth.
Breakfast I spoke with reception who told me the hotel was very quiet.
Will choose another IHG in the area and avoid this one.

Read the reviews before you stay

I wish I would have read the reviews before booking. The “valet” is ridiculously priced and the room is disgusting and looks nothing like the photos. We literally went to the cruise port 2 hours early to sit in our car just so we could get out of the room. I think we each only got about 2-3 hours of sleep because the walls were paper thin and the road noise was so loud even on the 5th floor. The only good parts of our stay were the funny bartenders, my teenager liked watching the fancy cars go by in the street below, and it was close to CVS so I was able to run in and get something I forgot to bring. I am an IHG member and we always enjoy our stays so this was something we weren’t used to from their hotel group. This hotel needs some major updating.
