Usually I prefer the full service establishments to the Express but in this instance, this place was a wonderful and unexpected bright spot in regard to my visit to the area. Originally I was five minutes away at the full service sister hotel but had to abruptly leave due to many customer service issues and absolutely no accommodation. Let me say this hotel was a treat, from the beautiful bright lobby to the desk attendant who made my stay a pleasurable experience by checking me in after hours, thank you Carl. Rosemary was equally kind in her ability who later provided me with a room that I could spread out and enjoy my weekend in the area. The breakfast, pool area and room were all equally well appointed, equipped and inviting; my view was exquisite. Javion in customer relations was also a bright spot as he consoled me after a very unpleasant brief stay I had at the neighboring establishment and offered me comfort as I transitioned to my unexpected relocation. It is really comforting to be part of a family of hotels that ultimately looks out for you in the event of a possibly discomfort, this property, Carl, Rosemary and Javion all were able to look out for me and my guests to ensure we were treated like people and made to feel like welcomed guests. Let me start by saying from start to finish, a forced early check out this was probably one of this property is probably the worst staffed, maintained or laid out I have ever been too. A few dim spots were how at check in I was told my breakfast vouchers would accommodate me and as many guests as I had in my suite and the house keeping staff that I graciously engaged with in the hall who provided fresh towels as my room was never fully serviced, anything beyond that fell very short of the level of service I have come to expect as a Platinum Elite Reward Member. The room we were assigned was tight, for a suite it is probably the smallest and the tightest I have ever stayed in, the lamp shades were all loose, the tissue box in the bathroom was empty at check in, there were signs everywhere asking for a greener stay, probably the reason the room was never serviced, there was a message in the elevator stating proper dress and footwear was required in all areas of the hotel. That sign bothered me because of the awkward way you had to enter the pool area, through the lobby, passed the hotel bistro bar, through the cramped exercise room to a very, very dimly lit pool area where many of the lights were not working and the water itself was a misty grey/green. Most of the troubles started as the companions I was traveling with were alienated the first morning at breakfast and told to sit in an area separate from the other hotel guests. They were also told that the breakfast voucher was only good for one person but that it could "slide" that day. When I spoke with the general manager about how my guests were made to feel alienated he offered no apology or accommodation and advised that the desk attendant who checked us in was wrong to tell me that the voucher was for me and as many guests as I had and the woman at the breakfast buffet was doing her job and he furthered his statement by saying he was going to do nothing. It bothered me that my guests who traveled from New York with me for the Thanksgiving Holiday were made to feel uncomfortable, but it bothered me even more that the manager did not care. I felt a simple solution would have been to simply offer enough breakfast tickets as to avoid any further discomfort and an apology. Customer relations advised a solution would be brought to me within fifteen minutes of calling, the solution or accommodation never happened. When I arrived back in the hotel later that evening I decided to ask for additional breakfast vouchers, something that has always been granted to me as a Platinum Elite Member at other properties in the past, the desk attendant seemed ready for her response to me, she said that she was not going to give me any vouchers and that if I was unhappy I should leave her hotel. After I walked away distraught, I decided to go to my room gather my belongings and go to a sister hotel as I would never want to be at a place where I was made to feel as unwelcomed as I already have, and likewise my following two nights would be better spent elsewhere as clearly accommodation is not part of this run down, dated, awkward, unfriendly close-minded establishment.

One of the most welcoming and easy check-in experiences I have ever had; the room was well appointed and beautiful. Breakfast was a treat and the blond lady on breakfast staff was truly accommodating and made my morning cheerful. Check-out was an ease too and I was granted an extra hour to gather my things, the only draw back was leaving this well maintained hotel behind; rest assured I will be back and likewise be recommending the property as the priemier place to stay in northwest Connecticut. I have been platinum rewards member for years and never have I had such an appalling experience. From being promised a price adjustment at check in that never happened, to being over charged after an accommodation was offered but never received for a broken down elevator for five hours on one of the busiest travel days of the year during the Cherry Festival, this place lacks character, is outdated and has very un-professional staff. Let alone not being greeted as a platinum rewards member I was never greeted once as I walked by the front deck, it was always empty with a door bell to ring for service. When I called to ask about why I had been over charged, before the front desk manager got on the phone with me I had to listen to her complain about not being able to go on her break. The location of the hotel and being of the brand I have been loyal to was the only saving grace, so I went a head and booked a great rate for my following year's travel plans only to discover my reservation was secretly canceled by the front desk manager as she deemed me unfit as a future guest and likewise sent absolutely no notification that my future reservation had been canceled. Wow talk about accommodation and appreciation for brand loyalty.

Very pleasant experience. I had a wonderful time in Bridgeport at this expertly maintained property. The hotel pool was a little small to accommodate more than one party, so if your staying for the pool with a big group try to be the first there. Location is walking distance to great restaurants and the rooms are very well kept.

I contacted management about the below complaint and received no response directly from them. I requested on 4/21 that my room be serviced and again on 4/22 when exiting the hotel. Upon returning in the evening 4/21 there was no replenishment of the completely used toilet tissue which was low at check in. When I left on 4/22 I spoke to the assistant manager and asked that the room be serviced and that the facial tissue be replenished, the room was serviced but upon return there was no facial tissue, instead an empty canister as the box was removed. The windows were filthy I did not get one good photograph from my room and after arriving at 4pm well after check in time on 4/20 I had to wait at the front desk for 45 minutes while my suite was "checked", mind you I paid extra for valet so I could go right up and there was at least five desk attendants who could have easily gone up and checked the room with me and my bags and got me settled, the hotel is run like a dormitory, upon return to my suite Saturday evening, I actually had to pick up and install toilet tissue that had been left in front of my door. This experience was not reflected in my high bill at check out. I don't believe I was ever greeted as a Platinum member.

I was lured in by the renovation I had read about, saying every surface had been enhanced or re done as I had stayed at the hotel pre-renovation and liked the location. One of the first things i did when entering my room which did have new wall paper, bedding, some furnishings and carpeting was enter the bathroom to wash my face. The towel bar immediately fell off on my foot. Then when sitting on the bed i scraped my leg on a projecting metal rod, finally when taking a tissue, the box cover looked like it was 20-30 years old definitely something pre-renovation, not to mention the tiles, tub, leaky shower and heat lamp fixture in the bathroom were all pre-renovation as well. I am appalled to think i payed a premium per night for this poorly maintained facility and was only offered a free drink ticket and breakfast when i complained to management. The service elevator i was directed to upon check in because i was in the west wing was also not touched in the renovation. Evan as I entered the parking lot instead of being greeted by a friendly valet, i was gawked at by a man with a list who took ten minutes to find my name and reluctantly move the cone so i could pull in after my 12 hour drive from the east. As it was he only put me down for one night for the window ticket even after i explained i was staying three nights and had the confirmation pulled up on my phone. They have some nerve charging these types of prices when the room was in fact a danger zone.
