Not what it used to be.
No, I do not recommend this property.
I’ve stayed here a couple of times for work over the last ten years. Location is its biggest upside. When I stayed here in 2019, they were remodeling. I will say, I do like the river next to the hotel. The road noise is loud during the day, and drowns the river noise out though.
Six years later I returned and was very disappointed with the upkeep on the room. The floors were clean, but sticky, the furniture was gross and stained, and the walls dirty.
Every single contact I had with female front desk staff was superiorly negative. The long-haired guy at night was awesome, and very accommodating. But those other ladies, yikes! Whether by phone or in person, they were just nasty to us. As if I was begging for food, or stealing from them. All I wanted to do was check in!
Staff alone motivates me to skip this property in the future, not the mention the poor upkeep.

Newer hotel but lacking in some areas.

No, I do not recommend this property.
This was my second stay here. First stay was great. I seem to remember it was when it was brand new, so there were some construction items out back in the parking lot. Staff was friendly and everything was fresh and new. :-)
The second stay, you can tell there isn't enough managerial oversight in all the areas.
First off, at the time of this review, the hotel's pool is running but NOT heated. The sign appeared to be there for a while, and I see some other reviews from months to a year ago talking about the pool not being warm enough. Now it's presumedly broken. There's nothing on the IHG app talking about this. I came with my kids for a hockey tournament, so they were disappointed there wouldn't be any swimming.
The room appeared clean at first, then I started to notice the walls. There were what appeared to be boogers smeared on the wall near one of the beds and toilet. There was also freshly cut hair smeared against the wall next to the toilet. I wasn't looking for this stuff, but noticed it pretty quickly. Why doesn't a housecleaner see it? The walls just need a frequent wipe down. It looks like these are well overdue.
Breakfast was decent. They had minimal options compared to other HIE's. I had some oatmeal and grabbed some raisins. Before covid, they'd be in a small container and you would spoon them out. Now they have boxes of raisins and packages of brown sugar. I grabbed two boxes of raisins, which were both still fresh and before expiration, but they had mold growing in them. Like a significant amount.
Either way, probably won't return next time.

Needs some updating.
No, I do not recommend this property.
As far as Holiday Inn’s go, they’re up to speed on the general flow and decor you see in each one. This one appears to need some more timely upkeep and attention to detail.
Positives: Friendly staff. Quick and painless check-in. Great selection of breakfast items.
Negatives: Was probably the most run-down Holiday Inn I’ve stayed at. Those signature blue vertical lights you see on Holiday Inn’s, this one had mismatched colors and multiple lights were flickering.
We’re also two years into covid and their still sporting the towers of plexi-glass and stacked up furniture in the breakfast room.
Parking is pretty bad too. A business friend of mine had their car broken into overnight.

Excellent stay because of staff. Derek specifically was outstanding.
The hotel room needed some attention to detail and the towel were a tad damp when we arrived. Also the room location requests I made on the reservation were not honored.
Breakfast was good. Understandably it’s very limited, but you guys are doing a much better job than most other hotels.

Good hotel, great staff.

This was a good stay. Stayed in a double queen room.
The room was clean, but had some minor defects around it. Patched holes in the wallpaper, faint smell of cat urine, semi-damp towels in bathroom. Other small damper was when I made the reservation I asked for a first floor room toward the end of a wing. We ended up getting a third floor room toward the center.
What really made the difference was the accommodating staff. Derek checked us in. I had drove my Tesla and asked about any relation with the neighboring hotel. He told me there was and when I mentioned their Tesla Charger, he said he it wouldn't be a problem to use it and even called their front desk to ask/let them know.
After checking in and later into the night, my wife learned she forgot her toothbrush. She called down and Derek said he'd be up in five minutes. Derek was up in less than a minute! Lol. He really embraces the spirit of being accommodating and hospitality. He really deserves recognition for that and I hope the hotel values his dedication and hard work.
Breakfast is a tad modified due to the virus, but still not bad. Less do it yourself. They figured out a way that was still clean but didn’t make guests feel like they were all disease carrying hosts. Kudos for that.
Overall, a great hotel and is in a really secure spot.

Great hotel overall.

This hotel is directly next to Medford’s Ice Rink. It’s a conveniently located property and inside and out it’’s really great. The rooms were roomy and the staff were really fantastic. They really went above and beyond the norm.
