We are located off of I-65 Birmingham at Exit 267 and only 10 miles from downtown Birmingham, BJCC, Protective Stadium, Legion Field and Birmingham CrossPlex. We are a short drive to Fultondale Sports Complex and Barber Motorsports Park. Our business hotel is ideal for guests visiting companies like AT&T, Southern Co., Ford Motor Co., Alabama Power, Nucor Steel, Kamtek, Amazon Distribution Center, GE, Thompson Tractor, Caterpillar and US Steel. Our family friendly and kid friendly hotel is centrally located and within minutes of Spring Valley Beach, the Outlet Shops of Grand River, Bill Noble Park, Top Golf, Robert Trent Jones Golf, Buc-ee's and McWane Science Center. We are close to St. Vincent's Hospital and UAB Medicine. Fultondale boasts a number of Fall Festivals that are a must see. The state-of-the-art modern hotel features spacious guestrooms with 8ft panoramic view windows and 49” HD flat panel TV. Our long term stay hotel features onsite laundry, Fitness Center, indoor heated pool and complimentary daily breakfast including cinnamon rolls, pancake machine, Otis Spunkmeyer muffins, individually wrapped danishes, chocolate milk, as well as whole and 2% milk. Worst Experience in an IHG hotel

Room dirty, dirty rings on furniture, nail clippings from previous room occupants in chair, etc on check in. Staff acted like it was not a big deal. Manager was unavailable from check in to check out and I was told at check out that my reciept would be available on app. When I requested paper copy anyways, I was told that the system wouldn't print it out. We stopped here as an overnight stop on the way home from the beach. I was tired and ready for bed, but after this experience I had trouble sleeping even after being moved rooms. If a refund was available, I would have picked up and gone elsewhere.

Not your typical Intercontinental

My wife and I are both loyal IHG members and normally love all of the properties especially Intercontinental. However, this one is by far the worst one we have stayed at. We had planned to stay 3 nights for my wife’s birthday but could only survive one night before moving to the J.W. (Which was fantastic btw). The shower handle would barely turn, the water pipes were so loud it sounded like a train, pillows and bedding very uncomfortable and last but not least the room would not cool down. We brought all of this to the attention of the front desk. Told them we were not happy and likely going to move properties. They basically said see ya no problem without even attempting to rectify the situation. We normally don’t complain or leave bad reviews but we felt like this one definitely warranted it.

Terrible Service

Volleyball traveling family of three. Reserved a room with two queen beds a few nights ahead of time. I knew we would be late to check in, so I called the front desk at 7:00pm. The man told me we were set. Checked in with the same man at 9:30pm and he gave our two bed RESERVED room away. He said it was a “upgrade” to a king room, but that’s not what I wanted. The pull out couch was full of wires or springs, 3 inches thick and sunk in the middle, so all three of us slept in the king bed. Not ideal. Also, the fire alarm on ceiling has the brightest blinking light that kept me from sleeping well. Even with eyes closed, the light was able to be seen. I asked for money back from corporate, they got in touch with the hotel manager who emailed a response that wasn’t to the correct customer because she said she spoke with me at the hotel and she didn’t, but it was with someone else who complained about the light. When I emailed her a response, she never responded back. I never got any money back. Will never go back there. Awful customer service at check in and awful customer service after the stay.

The worst experience

I regret to say that my recent stay at your property has been the most disappointing hospitality experience I have ever encountered.
From the outset, the level of service fell far below even the most basic expectations. Promises made by staff were consistently left unfulfilled, revealing a troubling lack of professionalism and reliability. The so-called concierge service was practically non-existent—there was no assistance with luggage during arrival or departure, which was both surprising and inconvenient.
The room itself was far from satisfactory. An unpleasant odor was present upon arrival, and despite being a standard amenity, there was no hair dryer available. To compound this, the room faced the pool, and the noise levels were utterly unacceptable, making rest during the day or evening impossible.
Breakfast service left much to be desired. I attempted to order a simple omelette on three separate mornings, and each time the order was either incorrect or forgotten. Such recurring issues with a basic meal reflect poor communication and training.
Check-out was another unfortunate experience, marked by an unreasonably long wait for the invoice due to a perpetual queue at the front desk. Repeated attempts to contact reception or the operator by phone over the course of an hour went entirely unanswered—an issue that speaks to either a severe staffing shortage or an alarming disregard for guest needs.
Overall, the lack of adequate staffing was evident throughout the property, contributing to the sense that guest comfort and satisfaction are not a priority.
It is sincerely disappointing that what was meant to be a restful stay turned into a series of avoidable frustrations. I hope this feedback serves as a catalyst for the much-needed improvements in service and operations.

Poor experience overall

Initially told wrong room number, had to go back to front desk. Got into correct room. TV was on, but no remote. TV said to scan QR code for remote on phone, which didn't work. Called front desk and told they'd reset it. Waited, and waited, called again and was told they would bring a remote. Housekeeping walked right in with no knock! Remote did not work because of no battery! Went to front desk (again) and got a battery. Guests in room directly above us made all kinds of noise- all night, which we heard. This hotel had very few guests, why wouldn't guests be spread out more to avoid this??

Love the place but no ac

Our ac unit in the room would not work. It struggled to keep the room at 74-76 degrees even when set at 65. When the front desk was asked on the first day to address the issue they said they couldn’t move us to another comparable room and they would “try” to get someone to look at it which never happened. They never followed up on the issue so we just had to suffer with minimal ac. Was not up to normal IHG standards and the most disappointing part was no empathy for the issue.

Bad and disappointing

When I got there I was given a dirty room. It looked as if someone just crawled out from the bed. Went down to the front desk and was given another room that was not what I requested but at this point I was too tired to care. The new room had stains on one of the beds. The sheets were put on backwards so I had a tag in my face. Around 11:45 I had to call front desk do to people yelling outside the door. The front desk person said that they just checked in so nothing was done. The yelling went on for an hour.
