A memorable hotel in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre – East Mountain sets a standard above the rest. Boasting amazing mountain and valley views, the hotel offers two on-site restaurants which include seasonal outdoor igloos in the colder months, plus a lounge. The swimming pool is lap-size, the fitness center very nicely equipped, and the sauna is perfect for a steam after a long day.
Within easy reach of I-81, the Holiday Inn is close to notable local attractions such as the Mohegan Sun Pocono Casino, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, and skiing and snowboarding at Montage Mountain, Jack Frost and Big Boulder resorts. If you are a golfer, you will appreciate the proximity to 5 area championship courses. Business travelers will find themselves within easy reach of the area’s business parks and distribution centers.
Weddings are picturesque whether indoors or outdoors, with a ballroom that accommodates up to 200 guests, and more intimate affairs outside on the greenspace and patio.

Room 208 has the front light of hotel shining through my window all night. My room was lit up and made it difficult to sleep. The curtains do not close, so it was not a pleasant stay.
The kitchen staff/staff in the kitchen area could be heard cursing and talking very loudly from the lobby. Definitely was not a professional atmosphere.
Each time that I have stayed there it seems that the kitchen staff is more unprofessional and inept at their jobs.

It was an excellent stay at the hotel except they definitely have to fix the hotel guest printer. Many people are traveling who stay there and need to either use the computer to print out business related documents or directions. Not having a working printer and only one computer online is not efficient, nor good for guests. The man at the front desk was so kind and offered to print something for me from his desk.

The food was amazing at the hotel! Sound level of people in the hall could be improved, the vacuum should not be going early in the morning. Drapes should be able to close all of the way for privacy. Shower was a bit slippery (not cleaned properly) and the water in the shower took forever to get warm.
However, I would recommend this hotel because of the staff, food, convenience of the location and comfortable bed.

No, I do not recommend this property.
My car broke down at 11 pm. I stayed here. The front desk staff were wonderful, but I the cleaning staff are not, or at least one. I found a Dunkin’ Donuts drink in my refrigerator from the previous occupant. Also- dark hair in the bathroom. I have blonde hair.
