I will own up know - I have many allergies to dust etc and normally have to wipe surfaces down - and try not to look at the dust coming off my wipes - this is not the case here at all - every surface, including curtains and bedding are dust free and super clean. On this visit - I did not even feel the need to spray my anti bac spray.
The room is a good size with a desk chair, table and arm chair.
The bathroom is spotless - no signs of mould anywhere.
This is where I feel a bit like Goldilocks: The mattress is a bit too soft; the pillows a tad too firm - but super clean and smell nice and fresh. I always have a good nights sleep.
The restaurant staff are absolutely super - I wish I could remember names - but they are all good: a lovely young waitress, helped me to carry my goodies to my room as she noticed that I had a walking aid: Saturday Evening (5.4.25)
The receptionist on Friday, Saturday and Sunday was welcoming, helpful and patient.
When you enter the building, you are met with a nice polished, clean environment, which is maintained along the corridors as well. Thankfully this venue has no steps leaning up to it or the reception area.
The restaurant area is clean, and hygienic - I love that they cover the sliced bread and always have tongs that you can use to pick slices up. Service is attentive. The breakfast choice is varied and there is always cooked food so you never have to wait for refills and the continental breakfast is scrummy as well.
The bonus about this Holiday Inn is that it is clean and fresh and has a spa so that you can pamper yourself - wonderful.
Another fantastic bonus is the onsite car park.
See you soon Holiday Inn Colchester.
Forgot to say: - loved the touch of guest of the day reward. It meant that I did not have to dip in to my budget to treat myself to an alcoholic beverage.
