I work with the Military DoD and I booked two rooms 4 months well in advance of my arrival date of 18 Feb 2025. When I arrived on the 18th with a coworker who was checking into the other room I had booked with my credit card; The hotel had me reserved for one room when I reserved two. I explained that my case to the general manager and Luckly General Manage Toni Van Bastelaar and Noemi were aware of the annual exercise that he local military base has every year. She made the changes and me, and my coworker were able to check in to individual rooms for our stay.
This could have been problematic due to all the hotels in Barstow, California were booked up for the same event for FEB-MAR 2025, I would have had to dive a 1.5 hr. drive one way from Victorville, California. As I look think back on what happened the issue was the booking agent was not familiar with the area and the type of events that are supported by those hotels. It would have been better if we could speak to the front desk not someone outsourced in another country. I will be booking again in July for another event and will stay with IHG like I always have how can you make it easier for booking multiple rooms more consistent.
