The Holiday Inn Express Gulf Shores is conveniently located 1.5 miles from the beautiful pristine sugar white sand beaches on the Gulf of Mexico! We are also only 2 miles from the Gulf Shores Sports Complex and 3 miles from the Orange Beach Sports Complex. We are within a short drive of all the main attractions in the area including OWA Amusement Park and Entertainment destination, Waterville USA, Tanger Outlet Center, Gulf Shores Zoo, Lambert's Cafe, The Track, Adventure Island, Gulf State Park, The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, Fort Morgan and The Wharf. But if you don't feel like going very far, we've got you covered with a complimentary breakfast served each morning. After breakfast, feel free to indulge in our pool and complimentary fitness center! We also offer complimentary WiFi and free on site parking.

Close to the best of downtown San Diego!
Welcome to the Holiday Inn Express San Diego Downtown Hotel! Our hotel is clean and safe and every room has a mini fridge. We are near Balboa Naval Hospital and Sharp Hospital.
Our downtown San Diego hotel is a prime location for several popular San Diego attractions and bustling nightlife. We are a short walk from Petco Park (home of the Padres ), Maritime Museum of San Diego, Balboa Park, USS Midway, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, the New Children’s Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
We offer free Wi-Fi to all of our guests to keep you connected with your family, friends, and work while you are away from home.

IHG is my go to hotel chain, but after this adventure… that may change. Upon arriving at hotel I quickly discover that it is under renovation. We are talking scaffolding along Beech Street and Sixth Street, construction personnel everywhere and what can only be described as an oblivious staff. I parked my full size car at a meter because the small taxi stand/fire zone/ 10 minute check-in parking turnabout just seemed like an accident waiting to happen. I check in with relative ease but I guess the staff still didn’t think it was relevant to inform me that the hotel was being renovated on multiple floors. After checking in I decided to move my car to the parking structure. ***WARNING*** for larger vehicles it is a tight fit to get up and down the ramps in the parking structure. I am not kidding; the walls and rails were line with scratches an scraps from drivers who tried to make it in and out of the parking structure with clear signs of their failed attempt. I gathered up my bags and proceeded to the elevator to wait for 15 minutes. Every time the elevator did arrive, it was filled with the construction crew and their equipment. I finally gave up and walked my bags up the stairs because I was over it. My room faced Beech Street, I open the window to enjoy the great San Diego weather and found the construction too loud so I immediately closed them. I left the hotel and it’s noises and travel to a coffee shop to get some work done and visit some other places in Downtown San Diego, when I returned the overnight construction crew was there… the only thing I could say was “really, this is a joke right!” At that point I said to he'll with it and went to sleep with my earphones in my ears to block out the noise. Maybe the construction has been going on so long that the staff is either (A) use to it (B) blocking it out or (C) just don’t care anymore, as it has become part of their daily routine but for me it was a constant annoyance. I’m not sure who is operating IHG’s website but, they should inform a potential guest when a hotel is undergoing significant renovations. This has been my worst IHG hotel experience.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback about your stay. I apologize for the inconveniences that occurred while you were here. Our construction only works between 8am to 4pm. My staff says they were unaware other buildings also had construction going on. I will be more careful in selecting my members rooms to avoid the discomfort of future guests. Once again thank you for bring this to my attention.

Friendly clean hotel

We found the hotel to be very clean, friendly and helpful staff. One of the breakfast ladies remembered we were there about 3 years ago. We were celebrating a 95th birthday at that time and now we were celebrating this same ladies life at her funeral. It was nice to use the conference room and meet with the family. Also it was nice that the breakfast was not whisked away when the clock struck 10am. So many hotels start cleaning up and taking food away as you are still trying to get breakfast. Will definitely use this hotel again should we be in this area.

My stay was great at the holiday inn the room was clean, the pool is great even has a jacuzzi. it's a very quiet hotel.,which is lovely for good sleep. My only issue came about after I checked out , my boyfriend had left his wallet so we called back to see if they had found it the young lady on the phone said she was checking with housekeeping management she then told me that they didn't find anything in the room when they cleaned it, from my experience at hotels there is usually a note in the computer that says if the room was actually cleaned or not which is something she would have access to. Me just wanting to be safe decided to turn around and go back to the hotel my boyfriend was allowed back in the room to see if his wallet was there, and he said the room was not touched in the wall it was laying right on the bed. To me this is untruthful customer service she could've told me they didn't clean the room yet or that she would personally go check.

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past, and eventually stopped using it. It was somewhat dated, and appeared to need a major upgrade. Even the staff was questionable. For example a front desk staff member was obviously quite ill one time, but continued to work with customers.
We took another chance on it this time, and were pleasantly surprised. The overall appearance was better, although more updating should follow. The entire staff was overly pleasant, and appeared to like what they were doing. We understand that a new manager took over less than a year ago, and his(her?) influence apparently has made quite a difference. We will be back.!

We stayed for a week during the run of Matilda the Musical. The staff were very good. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I had one issue with not having my room cleaned for 3 days but otherwise this was a great stay. Breakfast was fine as well.

We are 2 miles from the Iowa State University campus and convenient to the area's biggest attractions. Our hotel is close to many major businesses - ISU Research Park and Workiva are just a short drive away. The Hilton Coliseum, Stephens Auditorium, Fisher Theater, and Scheman Building are only one mile from our Ames accommodation. Syngenta, REG, 3M, IA DOT, USDA/NVSL, and Danfoss are also nearby.
