This is my third time to stay this hotel and first time at 6 floor, If you have poor sleep quality, be aware that this floor may experience low-frequency resonance sounds from the bar’s sound system on the 5th floor.

Our check-in process was extremely smooth with knowledgeable staff. To our surprise we were upgraded to the gorgeous suite we could only dream of staying at, and intercontinental truly gave us a memorable and comfortable stay. All the services and food were naturally of 5-star standard, and have already recommended this hotel to many of our friends and family. Big shout out to the manager who upgraded us, regrettably I did not get her name but thanks to her I had a great first night for my first time in Shanghai.

The air conditioner in the room couldn’t be adjusted because it was set to heater mode, and I wasn’t used to staying in that kind of temperature. So the staff kindly brought us a tower fan. Plus, all the front desk staff could speak English, which made communication very convenient.

The hotel is very centrally located and the buildings are exceptional with beautiful gardens. The food is great and the staffs are excellent. The only drawback is the facilities inside need better upgrade. One can see rust at the bathroom and light fixtures. This devalues the high end Intercontinental status. Also, hotel room should not have instant coffee. The amenity made this high end hotel a grade lower than it should be.

Wonderful hotel ! I have kept coming back to stay at this hotel, for 9 years now, because of the great service the professional staff provide. As a foreigner the staff are very understanding of my needs. At the front desk, Coco Zhong makes every stay an enjoyable experience with her high standard of service. In the hotel restaurant, Executive Chef Simon Luo has always provided the highest standard of cuisine and service and my wife and I always look forward to dining there again..
