Originally built in the 1800s as one of the city’s very first power stations, a building that lit the path for Glasgow’s development, the Hotel Indigo® Glasgow hotel today puts you close to a new kind of buzz—local cuisine, world-class shopping, museums, historic theatres and sporting events. Our hotel’s design mixes Victorian architecture, high ceilings, and original brown brick with modern comfort. Murals by local artists line the walls, while our restaurant serves local dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It’s a great place to chat over a brew and look for the famous local Glaswegians depicted in the mural above diners’ heads.

We had a lovely stay. The hotel is very nice, decent facilities but could be doing with a better gym in a more discreet area I think. I didn't use it as I had planned but my hubby did. There are parts of the hotel that are looking tired and the pool area in particular is one. The breakfast was nice but l missed my porridge! Please add porridge to the breakfast options. Most of the staff are very nice in particular the reception/bar staff and most of the restaurant staff. Very helpful. I was really disappointed though (sorry to add a negative) but when we arrived at the hotel I had to pay an extra £100 over what I was expecting. I never received any confirmation and the confirmation number that I was provided with (around the week before our stay) was not showing up on my account when I logged onto the website. I had booked in March last year for Feb. The reason for this was that when we tried to book the March dates we wanted, the rooms had not been released. We were going to the Country 2 Country music festival. I was advised at the time to book for as near as I could and then when the rooms became available to phone up and change the booking, rather than cancelling and rebooking (I don’t know why??). Anyway the confirmation number was the original booking number but was still not recognized. I received no confirmation that I had changed the booking (other than just before our stay), and I then contacted the hotel via Chat to confirm as, again the confirmation number was not recognized on my account. Phew!! Long story sorry. Anyway, I was contacted by the hotel to offer us a discounted upgrade to a lounge access room and we paid for this at the time – think this was June time. Just before we were due to arrive I contacted reservations to ask what our balance would be as I was aware that we had part paid – again no confirmation of what that was. I was told how much it was and was happy with that. However, when we arrived I was told this was much more expensive. The email confirmed that we had booked a Room with Lounge Access clearly stating the cost which was NOT what we paid when we checked in!! There was no mention of an upgrade cost, or what we had paid previously so I am really annoyed that this happened. I assumed that this was all included and as I had booked a year ago I had lost track of costs – but also did not receive any confirmation before this (as mentioned above). Lindsay Aitchison dealt with this on the day and was extremely nice. She gave us additional points and a complimentary bottle of wine which was really kind. However, I would definitely have cancelled the lounge access room if I had realized what that weekend was going to cost. I also checked the price of the hotel rooms while we were there for the same room and as far as I can remember it wasn’t as expensive. I was also told at the time of booking that the stay longer pay less (or whatever it is called) was a good option and better than the NHS discount! I really feel conned and disappointed to be honest and feel that it was way more expensive than what we would have been willing to pay. We were going to the concert so didn’t get full use of the lounge and it was not good value for money – and very tiny and cramped/busy. I think you really need to review your communications policy and make sure that all correspondence is explicit. It has certainly taught us a valuable lesson!
