DorindaH's Reviews

Welcome to Hotel Indigo Memphis Downtown, a unique property with the best value in Memphis. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, our historic hotel was built as a Holiday Inn in 1963 by Merrill G. Ehrman, who also designed Graceland. As the first of its kind in downtown Memphis, it features T.Y. Lin's innovative ""Lin Tee"" design, known for its structural efficiency. Today, our reimagined building shines with vibrant color, local art, and memorabilia from regional rhythm and blues, rock ‘n’ roll, and soul legends. Ideally situated near the Fedex Forum and Beale Street, our downtown Memphis hotel offers 118 renovated rooms and boasts historical features, including a first-floor lobby with our restaurant Biscuits and Jams, parking entrances, and a courtyard. Unwind by our retro-themed outdoor pool, bring along your furry friend, stay active in our modern fitness center, groove to tunes on our limited-edition jukebox, and soak in the vibrant soul of Memphis.

Worst IHG experience ever!

No, I do not recommend this property.
Zero acceptable experiences at this hotel.
1. Check-In. Was told I would have to wait because they were about to have a "shift change." Two workers at the desk... both stood there 4 minutes doing nothing and then helped me at exactly 3pm..I guess that's when the "shift change" was over. Also, he did not thank me for being a member and then just rudely said..."so do you want points or a snack."
2) No blow dryer in room. Requested one, but I guess that was too difficult. They couldn't figure out how to get me one because "housekeeping does not arrive until 9am." I had to leave with wet hair.
3) Part of the bathroom cabinet fell on my daughter's leg/ankle/foot while she was just standing in front of the sink brushing her teeth. This left a significant mark and was swollen and bruised when we left. We told the front desk...they didn't care and I asked to have a manager call, but I guess that was too difficult also as I never received a call.
4) Truck was broken into. Clearly, this is not the hotel fault, but added to the overall negative experience here.

Yes, I recommend this property.
Friendly Staff. Clean and Comfy.
Had an issue with a non-staying guest using the pool for a birthday party. Was very put off because they stated they could ask us to leave, but after talking with the front desk I was advised that this was not the case.
