Newly renovated hotel

The hotel looks as though it was just finishing up from a remodeling project. The meeting room that our meeting was held in, was still being carpeted the day our meeting started. The pool and spa area was completely torn up. It sits right next to train tracks, so if you not used to train noise, might not be a good choice.

Winter Weekend

I was there for 3 nights and found the accommodations to be well worth it. The room was a little small, but not uncommon. Presentation and cleanliness of the room was excellent. There are train tracks nearby, which I didn't care for, but really didn't affect my overall experience as far as noise. The pool and spa are currently being renovated, but I was provided with the option to use Lifetime Fitness nearby for free. The restaurant is in the planning stages. It was open for breakfast and lunch and at least for this weekend, everything was free. The food was good and although I didn't pay, the menu prices were reasonable. Service was slow, but I also understand that this appears to be a work in progress. Overall a solid experience and I would stay here again.

The Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel and Conference Centre welcomes you to Barrie, Ontario. We are Barrie's full-service hotel with 161 guest rooms, a large indoor swimming pool, Fitness Centre, hot tub, Business Centre and Spynn Restaurant. The hotel has plenty of parking for vehicles, trucks, transports and trailers with easy access for you to get on and off the Highway 400. The Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel and Conference Centre is located in the central part of Barrie Ontario, close to the business district including companies such as Suzuki, Georgian College, Napoleon, Can-Save and Honda. The hotel is also close to entertainment, great shopping, and near-by restaurants. The hotel is just a short distance to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre at 201 Georgian Drive. Special rates are available for our Healthcare Heroes, the Canadian Red Cross and for long term stays. The Holiday Inn is located directly off Highway 400, at Essa Rd. exit, #94. The hotel is situated right in between two great restaurant options which include the Mandarin Restaurant and the newly opened Beertown Public House in Barrie Ontario. These are both walking distance from the hotel. If you are travelling from Pearson Airport we are an hour drive North on Highway 400. Spynn Restaurant is located right on the property where kids under 11 eat free when applicable. This full-service restaurant serves a full breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Beautiful hotel

We loved this hotel. Most definitely the nicest one we've stayed in, in this price range. The room was clean and updated. The bed was comfortable. The staff is fantastic, even when we made a couple of unusual requests.
