Old and Tired - But remodeling

Not a great experience here. Homeless dude sitting at side door. Trash everywhere in parking lot.
Rooms are on last leg, they are remodeling. Staff was nice enough, but its just a tired depressing place.

A modern hotel 12 minutes by train from Leeds city centre, with breakfast included, free parking and free Wi-Fi.
Holiday Inn Express® Leeds - East hotel offers easy access to the North via the M1 and M62 motorways , ten minutes' drive away. Leeds city centre is seven miles from the hotel, with fast, direct trains from nearby Woodlesford station. It takes about half an hour to drive to Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) to catch a flight.
You can host a business meeting or a training day for up to 30 delegates in the Oulton Suite , which has natural daylight, overhead projectors, air conditioning and complimentary refreshments. If you're set for a long day, catered buffet lunches can be provided.
After a meeting, you can treat your clients to a round of golf at Oulton Hall Golf Club , a 10-minute walk away. The shops and restaurants of Leeds Trinity shopping centre and the nightlife of the Northern Quarter are a short train ride away, in the city centre. Or you can explore the country mansion and parkland at 500-year-old Temple Newsam House , five miles away.

Bathrooms require design review to be ADA compliant. The bottom of the tub is very rounded and a slip hazard. There are no grab handles to prevent slips and/or falls. There are spiders everywhere. Better breakfast choices, or at least what is advertised.

Guests Love Hotel's Central Location in Manchester, NH

Slippery bath tub

The bath tub was extremely slippery. No bath mat was available. My husband slipped and fell out of the tub, while taking a shower and bruised his back.
The manager did call me and gave us some extra points.

I booked my stay with rewards nights. When I checked in I was told there would be a 39 dollar parking fee per night. That's all well and good. The grievance I have is what's the point of offering rewards nights only to fine out it's going cost you anyway. I don't have a problem with the dark haired man that checked me in. I made the mistake of taking my problem out on him. He did reward me with an excellent room which I appreciate. He also threw in breakfast which was very nice. I'm otherwise the staff was very good to me. I also enjoyed my stay and will come back.

There is so much weed smoked in front of hotel that you smell it all over the 1st/2nd floors. If checkout time is at 11:00am housekeeping should not be knocking on your door at 10:00 to start cleaning

Shuttle did not show up and shower was dangerous

On Saturday, March 15th, I called at 10:13 pm to request a pick-up from the airport. We were told to go to the very end of the white canopy to the left of the building and stand next to the sign with the letter B and it would be 30-40 minutes before the ride would arrive. At 10:55 I called again to say that we had just seen the shuttle drive past on the road and it had not even pulled into the area of the canopy. We were apparently the only people to be told to stand at that spot for this shuttle because the person I was speaking to contacted the driver and the driver said that he was full and would return to pick us up in about 20 minutes. So where were those other people picked up at? At 11:31, I called the hotel again after the shuttle drove right past us, even as we were waving at him. We were told that he would turn around and be back in 5-7 minutes. At 11:35 the hotel was contacted again to say that the driver was still not there. It was at that time that we got an Uber to take us to the hotel. This is extremely poor customer service!

Over priced mediocre service

Overpriced for location and what you get. Rooms are mediocre (pictures make it appear much nicer than it actually is), horrible highway noise, staff not the most pleasant. With paying for an overpriced room, you are charged $25 to park and $10 a person for breakfast buffet. Definitely not worth the money paid!!

Nothing but issues

We were travelling with our two grandchildren and reserved this hotel specifically because it was one of the few in the area that had a “two bedroom suite”. When we arrived at the hotel, the desk clerk ran my credit card and we were sent to our room. Initially, we found that the card entry system was not working and Maintenance were required to get us entry to the room. On entry we realized that we did not get the suite we reserved. I visited the desk again and found that the suite I reserved was not available. The desk staff got the manager on the phone and I was told that my reservation was “downgraded” due to another person who wanted the room for multiple nights. When I asked for my room charge to be reversed so that I could go to another hotel, I was told that was impossible. Faced with no other options, we stayed at the hotel for the night. The room was filthy with red stains all over the carpet. The refrigerator was not working ( I pulled it out and found that it had been unplugged). The light switch inside the door would only stay on if you held it on.
The next morning I talked to the manager to express my dissatisfaction. His new story was that the “suite” was unavailable because of plumbing issues. He backtracked when I told him I was aware of the real reason. The room charge that I was charged for the downgraded room was the “walk in” rate which I pointed out was much higher than the rate I could have booked it for two weeks previously (when I booked the initial reservation). He agreed to the lower rate and then offered me a $10 discount for it he inconvenience.
Ive done a lot of travelling over the years and have never left a negative review but this stay was a nightmare from start to finish.
