Great location to airport

Great location to airport. Facility well kept and very clean. Nice breakfast area and courteous service. Front desk personell need lessons in customer service. Not rude but unfriendly and not effecient.

Hard wood floors in the rooms. this is the cleanest hotel ever.

Holiday Inn® Lancaster hotel is just off the M6, with easy access to the Lake District. The shops and attractions of Lancaster are a 10-minute drive away. Alternatively, leave the car in the hotel's free car park and catch a bus to the town centre from the stop outside the hotel. Lancaster Station is served by direct trains to Manchester. Blackpool Airport (BLK) is 40 minutes' drive from the hotel.
The hotel is just 20 minutes' drive from the scenic Lake District National Park. A 10-minute drive from the hotel, the 12th-century Lancaster Castle is surrounded by parkland. Nearby, the riverside Lancaster Maritime Museum occupies a former warehouse. Morecambe Bay, 20 minutes' drive from the hotel, offers coastal walks and seafront cafés. Lancaster University is easily accessible and only a 15 minutes' drive from the hotel.
Business guests are 20 minutes' drive from Heysham Power Station. At the hotel, you can host meetings for up to 100 people in seven flexible conference rooms with AV equipment and free WiFi.

Hotel Tired Looking

The hotel is now looking tired esp. the room we stayed in, the window would not open, the TV was not worth turning on, as it was so dark you could not see the picture.
The lampshades were dirty and a dirty hand print on the ceiling.

Not what I'm used to

I've stayed in Holiday Inn Expresses for about 6-7 years now. Holiday Inn Express is always my first choice solely on the great stays I've had in the past.
Unfortunately this stay was not what I'm used to and was very disappointing from start to finish.
The service provided from the receptionist wasn't the greatest. She was very short and not approachable.
I entered the hotel to check-in an hour after check in time. Presumably expecting my room to be ready for me to get through check-in and go up to my room to rest after driving from ND to GA. That was not the case.
When I walked in I was second in line. The gentleman in front of me was also checking in and his room was not ready either, The receptionist had to contact housekeeping on her personal phone to ask if the gentleman's room was ready. He fortunately got lucky and his room was ready after verifying it with housekeeping. I unfortunately did not have that same luck. I began my check-in steps with the receptionist and once again, she had to contact housekeeping to check on my room to make sure it was ready. She spoke to housekeeping on speaker so I was able to hear the full conversation. I'm assuming the person she spoke to was the head of housekeeping and not even the head of housekeeping was able to tell her if my room was ready or not. Therefore housekeeping asked the receptionist if she could give her a call back to let her know when she found out from whomever was in charge of cleaning said room. We finished the paperwork portion of check-in and I told the receptionist I had to grab some things out of my car so that waiting for the call back from housekeeping was fine. Assuming I'd get just as lucky as the previous gentleman. When I returned from grabbing my things the receptionist was sitting in the lobby/seating area eating with another person and having a conversation therefore not at the desk to follow up with me when I returned. As I got closer into view she told me from the seating area that my room was not ready. Did not give me a time frame on when it would be ready, did not empathize or sympathize with the fact that I had to wait just simply told me "it's not ready yet" and then went back to having the conversation with the other woman sitting with her in the lobby. So I just sat down and waited. Fortunately the wait wasn't terribly long, but checking in an hour after the designated check-in time, I figured a waiting period wouldn't be an issue walking in

I walked into my room and was greeted by a sadly made bed. Looking at the appearance of the bed, it seemed that either it was just quickly fixed to appear made up, but with what looked like sheets that had been previously used. The top comforter was completely wrinkled and just thrown on top of the other sheets. When I pulled away the top layer the sheets underneath were obviously wrinkled and thrown on carelessly and had an indent as if someone had been laying in the bed. I've seen better made beds at previous stays and this bed just wasn't up to those standards.
I then made my way to the bathroom and was again disappointed and grossed out. Next to the toilet was a previously used roll of toilet paper. I've never seen this at any of my previous stays. The roll was close to being completely used. The towels that were provided were moist and had dirt stains almost all over them. The foot towel thats usually provided was covered in dirt marks and had what looked like the indent of someone's toes on it. The floor and around the shower door had built up dust and hair almost as if the floor hadn't been swept or mopped in quite some time. I fortunately have never been in a room that was this disappointing. And normally, leaving a negative review is not what I do. But this many disappointments one after the other was just far too much to not report.
All in all and simply put, this was all results of careless behavior.
I just hope that I and anyone that stays here in the future doesn't have to endure this type of carelessness again and hopefully my review sheds some light on what might need improvement.

Disappointed with lack of amenities and parking fees

I remember Holiday Inn having better amenities. This one charges for parking as a paying guest! It's ridiculous. No complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby for guest either. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable but took forever to get hot water to be actually hot, the room had no microwave, TV is outdated - no options to login to Streaming Services, and the mini-fridge was dented and did not keep my items cold at all. Would not stay here again. Prefer Holiday Inn Express that offers complimentary breakfast, coffee/tea all day, no parking fees, and better service

Very clean, comfortable and super staff. Shuttle drivers, bartenders, front staff and housekeepers were all helpful and considerate. Love the shampoos, conditioners, body wash in the bathroom. Do not have to pack liquids.

Great service and very homey

I just spent 5 days there with my girlfriends that were celebrating their 60th birthdays. The staff were all great especially Jordan from the bar. He went above and beyond to keep us happy. The lobby was inviting and we relaxed there most evenings. The bar food was great and the breakfast was also very good just could have been more variety as it was the exact same every morning. The beds were comfortable. It rained a lot while we were there and the windows in both our rooms leaked. Overall I would recommend staying there. The shuttle guys were awesome and it was really handy to get downtown.

Customer Service Needs Improvement

First of all, my stay at stunning Hotel Indigo was fantastic! It is a gorgeous hotel & especially all the wait staff was super friendly & kind. The Front Desk staff were quite arrogant, but competent.
However, I phoned 3 times to reserve a Snorkelling Excursion the week beforeI arrival & each time did not receive my emailed excursion confirmation with payment link. The second & third time I phoned, I asked to speak to the Manager to make a complaint & was told they are not available. I was extremely frustrated because snorkelling at Espirito Santos was the reason I was coming to La Paz & staying at your hotel. Fortunately, I was able to find another tour operator to take me on the snorkelling excursion, through a friend in Mazatlan. However, this is extremely unprofessional behavior & unacceptable at a 5-star hotel.
And I say this as a professional Hotelier. Not only do I hold a Degree in Hotel & Tourism Management from prestigious Schloss Klessheim, in Salzburg, Austria; a Sales Certificate from Cornell University, NY; have my own hotel (www.villamaji.com); have published a book about how to manage hotels in undeveloped countries (www.gypsyhotelier.com); but I hold Diplomas from the Hotel Lodging Association of America to teach Front Office Management & to teach F&B Management at college level. If you would like, I would be happy to arrange a Customer Service course for your Front Desk & Excursion Desk staff, in January 2026, when I am moving to La Paz.

Great nights sleep. Large rooms. Has balconies (no one has them anymore). Friendly staff. Convenient to Disney and surrounding area.
