I’ve stayed at many IHG hotels over the years, but this was by far the worst experience. The hotel lacked even basic service and professionalism. We arrived late at night to find our room in an unacceptable state—used tissues left above the safe, an unflushed toilet, hair on the vanity, and stained sheets. When we raised this with the duty manager, we were told there were no alternative rooms available and had no choice but to stay the night. It was so unpleasant that we didn’t get to sleep until after 1 a.m. due to all the back and forth.
The room itself was barebones—no tissues, no basic toiletries like toothbrushes. The following morning, the manager offered us 15,000 points as compensation, which isn’t even enough for a free night. The hotel displays a sign saying that if your room isn’t clean or up to standard, they’ll make it right—but that promise wasn’t kept. We were expected to sleep in a dirty bed and use an unclean bathroom, which is completely unacceptable.

Poor front desk experience

To whom it may concern,
I stayed at Hotel Indigo Flinders Street in late March.
It was for my brothers bucks weekend as he was getting married the following week.
There was a huge confusion at the front desk about how much the rooms were costing for the two nights we were staying.
My bill came to approximately $1800. However, on their end, the bill seemed to come to a total of approximately $3000. They proceeded to take the money out of my account without consulting with me or giving me a total of the bill. As my fellow guests rocked up, they tried charging them the remaining balance as my card declined due to the somehow increased amount. Luckily I was there to intervene.
The manager & staff at the front desk were polite, but failed to see what the problem was. I had a detailed bill showing the approximate $1800 but on their end it seemed to be $3000. Not sure where the $300 came from because if I had booked the same rooms at that very moment I was there, it would’ve come to $1800.
Something needs to be fixed in your system.
Despite the staff being polite and courteous, they failed to see why I was upset and only when I became frustrated with them they resolved the issue accordingly. I am writing this review not because I wish to speak poor on anyone, but I was not offered anything else from the staff. A free drink or room service food would’ve been an easy option. But instead I had to spend the weekend with $1000 less in my account as refunds do not go back straight away.
I hope I hear back from someone as I Love your hotel but was left quite frustrated on the weekend I stayed when I should really have been celebrating with my brother.

I rarely write a review but felt the need this time. When I arrived, there were dirty linens thrown at the top of the closet shelf. In addition, with no notification, the water was cut off to the sinks and showers for almost one hour. Once I noticed the water off, I called to the front desk to inform them. The gentleman had no idea but did call me back to let me know they were doing construction on the floor that needed them to shut down the water. The gentleman told me that he would call me back to inform me that the water was cut back on, but he never did. An hour later, I turned the water on and brown water came out the pipes. (Understandable since it was cut off). After checking out, I called back to complain about the situation. I was informed that the manager would call me back. She called me back stating that she would not give me a refund. I told her that I didn't ask for a refund but a discount would be nice for the inconvenience. She was extremely defensive and not customer friendly at all. She debated me about the amount of time the water was cut off and informed me that no men work at the front desk. I informed her that not only a man when I checked in, but also when I called and when I checked out. She continued to tell me no men work at her front desk. The call was absolutely frustrating which is why I will not stay there again.

Hotel Indigo Kansas City - The Crossroads takes its inspiration from the city's thriving creative scene by incorporating local artwork throughout its three-story building. The 81 guest rooms of this historically certified, former home of the KC Costume Company, are embellished by custom fabric headboards and specially commissioned art — including a framed paint brush. The latter is a nod to Jim Leedy who in 1985 opened the first gallery in the Crossroads in what was once a paint brush factory. He is among the local creative types who have helped shape the unique experience of staying at the Hotel Indigo Kansas City Crossroads.

False advertising, lack of help resolving issue

I booked the room through Booking.com. That was a mistake because when we took issue with the fact that, while the room was advertised as having a bathtub on Booking.com (I specifically wanted a bathtub and choose that room because it supposedly had one) I was told there was nothing anyone could do about it at the hotel, I had to call Booking.com to rectify the situation. Booking.com told me I had to go through the hotel to fix it. No one would help me. We didn't stay. I did not get a refund. The front desk staff was curt with me and entirely unhelpful. Very unhappy with this hotel.

Ants in the room

The hotel was not bad overall but we had ants in our room when we woke up in the morning. We had bought Crumbl cookies and snacks for our kids on a road trip and they were covered in ants after not one night in the second story room. Disappointed

Very disappointing

We were driving through Farmington at midnight on the night of extremely bad weather. Tornadoes and storms all around us. It was late and we needed a place to stay for a couple hours. We stopped and asked if there were any rooms left. The guy at the counter was not friendly. We were in and out of the hotel in 6 hours and paid an enormous amount for the room. When we got in the room it was just a shell. Dirty floors, scuffed doors, two beds and a bathroom with nothing else. It looked like a cell. We were not there for very long and thank goodness it was gross. The breakfast wasn’t bad and the lady working the breakfast was the only nice person there. So disappointed that we pick Holiday Inn’s because they are usually great and this time it definitely was not.

I’ve stayed at the 100’s of IHG properties and this definitely does not meet the standards. The person that checked us in was unprofessional, the property is very rundown and an overall dirty feeling It seemed like they gave us a half used shampoo bottle. Was very underwhelmed by this property.

Chose this because of the location and the reputation of the Crowne.
Checkin process was outstanding due to the great attitude of the desk person. The rest was as expected. There was one big problem that turned the experience totally negative. The water in the toilet was too close to your body. You could not clean yourself without accidentally touching the fouled water. Second thing is charging a $30 parking fee. Not cool! I will think twice before I book here again.

Great location but rooms need updating

The hotel location is exactly what we needed. I chose this hotel over some others in the area because I’m a IHG member. I wish I would have stayed at a different location. We had a total of 8 rooms booked for an official event at the Pentagon. Family members and friends were all disappointed with the quality of the rooms for the price. No luggage carts available, many rooms not ready by 3:00 so that we could be on the same floor. Very disappointing. I’ve stayed at Holiday Express locations much more accommodating and updated than this hotel. Staff was cordial but not overly friendly or informative.
