Great location for cruising

Stayed here before and after cruise. Booked 3 rooms for each stay. Not enough staff for check in/check out. Asked to cancel third room at first check in for when we returned after cruise. Checked in after cruise and found out it was not canceled. Had requested a crib prior to the two stays and had to ask numerous times for it. Requested a late checkout for noon. At 11 am our keys were deactivated and had to go to the front desk and have them rekeyed. Cleaning staff banging on our doors at 11 am asking if we were ready for check out. Second stay room smelled musty. Rugs and floors not very clean. Walked around in socks and the bottoms were black. Pool is nothing special, towels were small and very thin and didn’t absorb well. Breakfast was typical continental breakfast. Have had better at other hotels.

Do not stay there on weekends. Sports teams combined with loud slamming doors results in a poor night sleep. Also, one elevator for a large 4 story hotel is inadequate.

Enjoy modern amenities at our hotel in Bordentown, NJ. Welcome to Holiday Inn Express Bordentown-Trenton South Hotel, located near the New Jersey Turnpike, I 295, U.S. 130 and U.S. 206. Our hotel is set back from the highway to provide a relaxed hotel experience. Our hotel is close to Trenton, Florence, Robbinsville, Hamilton, Ewing, Amazon, Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst, JBMDL lodging, Manheim Auto Auctions, Macclesfield Park in Yardley, Friendship Field, Six Flags Great Adventure, Sesame Place, Mercer County Park and Marina, Liberty Lake, Skimmer Adams Field, Arm & Hammer Park, CURE Arena and Patriots Theater. The staff at this location are the least helpful I have of all the Holiday Inns I have stayed at. The property is decently maintained but if you have any issues then it will take multiple attempts to get resolution.

A few issues

Was disappointed with a few things in our room. We had a gas fireplace in the room but it was not working. We asked the front desk and when we told them our room number they told us there was an ongoing problem with the fireplace and maintence couldnt fix it.
We also had very noisy rattling sound coming from the heating/ac vent unit. We lowered the fan speed but the rattling noise continued thru the night. This made it very hard to sleep. We didnt report it since maintainence probably couldnt fix that either

Such a bad service

They over charged me 600$ and the manager didn’t bother to reach out and clarify , room wasn’tcleaned,telephone not working and reported multiple times with no action , fans in the WC ceiling is full of dust and dirt , so disappointed ,
I have photos ,that can be posted . The front agent said the hotel is being renovated , it is not mentioned on the website upon booking .

Pool broken, breakfast was never filled...

I was not impressed with the Holiday Inn, and this is not what I expected. The pool was broken. The room wasn't bad, but the bathtub was stained. When we went down for breakfast at 9:10, almost everything was gone. Multiple guests were making comments and the staff had no intention of filling anything. No biscuits and gravy, the pancake maker was broken, No meat was available. Very poor altogether and the staff just kept going ignoring that the guests had very little left to eat.

Distressing experience as a family

Our family had a terribly distressing experience during our stay, and I do not recommend this hotel for families.
My father-in-law was locked out of our room and floor when he went down to the lobby - the keycards stopped working during late checkout. Our two young kids were then left alone and unattended for over an hour in the room, while he tried frantically to get back in at reception! (he didn’t speak English and connected us via his phone)
Despite our frantic attempts over the phone to explain and share identity documents, the reception refused to let him up or send someone to accompany him to get ID documents. You can imagine our panic as parents, as we hurried back to verify our identity and return to our kids!
When we afterwards complained to the manager, he shocked us by being a cold-hearted lawyer who played the blame game, laying it fully on us! Firstly, he blamed us for not bringing ID documents. Secondly, for our poor telephone connection where their team couldn’t hear us clearly. Thirdly, for not telling them that we had kids in the room.
He attacked us relentlessly without a word of sympathy or understanding, and left us feeling humiliated on top of our distraught emotions. It was the worst experience we’ve had at any hotel chain, ever.
Having said that, I would like to commend the service staff, especially the doormen who had been highly helpful and sympathetic to our situation. They showered exemplary customer service which was a consolation. 👍
Overall, it marked a terrible end to our family trip, and deeply disappointing compared to our other stay at IHG Sydney.

Bad experience

It was one of my bad experience to stay at IHG chain hotels. Firstly, feel unsafe to stay at hotel because too many homeless people gathered in front of the hotel. Location was not bad, pretty much close to tourist attractions but a bit far way from public transport. Was to much noisy to sleep due to ice maker. It was not stayed just next to my room. Breakfast was so poor and low quality without any selections.

Bug bites

I experienced bug bites during my stay.
Beds were not that comfy and the room could have been cleaned more.
