My wife and 2 kids and I stayed here for a couple of tournaments that my kids participated in this past weekend. I picked this hotel because it was the closest and one of the cheapest ones available on IHG to both events (different locations). I travel for work occasionally and we have to travel around the state and other places sometimes for wrestling tournaments for my kids, so I try to use IHG whenever possible. This one was one of our worst experiences that we've had at any of them that we've stayed at.
First, the air conditioner was super loud and made noises all the time, and the fan was so strong on it that the back of my head was freezing on the bed farthest away from it, and there was really no way to control it other than to turn it completely off and be hot all night.
The bathroom was really small, only 1 person could be in there at a time, so with 4 of us it took extra time to get ready in the morning. The shower handle was messed up, it took me about 10 minutes of playing with it to figure out that to get it on hot you had to force it because it only turned about a 1/4 turn which went from cold to almost warm, and you had to force it pretty hard to get it to go to the position where it started getting hot. Once it was hot, the pressure was so low that it was hot coming out of the shower head but by the time the water hit your head it was only warm. My wife couldn't wash her hair in the morning because it would have taken her forever and we didn't have that much time, so she had to wait to do it until before bed that night.
My son said that the airplanes kept waking him up, which I guess is understandable at an airport hotel, but still makes for a bad experience. None of us got much sleep either night we were there.
I was in a hurry when I booked it, so I didn't notice that there was no pool or continental breakfast, which was also disappointing, but that was on me. I've stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns and Expresses, and almost all of them had both, so I thought it was a little overpriced for not having those amenities.
Oh, and also the mini fridge barely kept anything semi-cold, let alone refroze our ice packs that we needed done, and there was no way to adjust it, so we had to drink warm drinks all day at the tournaments.

Was definitely not what I expected. Rooms were not very clean the bathroom was backing up. The TV didn't work on the first day. The last night our a/c stopped working at 3am. Definitely not staying or recommending this place to anyone.

We booked this hotel as it was near to Disney land by bus. The Room cleanliness was average.
The queen bed is fine but the sofa bed is the worst bed my kids couldn't sleep well.
Breakfast very less choice for warm food otherwise it was good.

Hotel needs a major update inside the rooms. Vents leasking condensation were a problem leading to wet carpet. USB ports did not work on either side of the bed. Walls are paper thin that you can hear guests conversations in the next room.

-Upon arrival last name was spelled out nice and slow..., was sent to the incorrect room to attempt to open a door with another guest inside the room. the other guest heard me at door and was very upset with me.
I return to front desk was told she sent me to the right room but the wrong floor .your room is 222 not 322 sorry.

-outside the room on the ground there are several large Commercial AC units for the hotel. one of the units has a large fan on top and this fan was apparently in need of repair , it would not turn and made a loud humming noises as it tried to turn , there is a strong smell of electrical fire from the fire waiting to happen ( front desk was notified of this by phhone.)
-Bathroom toilet runs constantly.
-Bathroom sink does not hold water
-only chair in room has a "skidmark" type stain on it of unknown origin. would not sit on this in a million years.
These issues was brought to the afternoon staff to no avail( Friday night was told that the one woman behind desk was only staff on duty in this entire hotel and there is not much that she can do). was told there was no other available room
-Bathroom toilet runs constantly.

Reason for the stay here was to pick up wife from TPA airport 10:55pm arrival.
When leaving the hotel at 10:15pm it was evident that the property across the street was a bar and had at least 100 patrons outside and using all the spaces in the front and both sides of the hotel.
On returning from the airport there was no parking at the due to the fact that there was now a band playing at the bar and there were hundreds of patrons from the bar property congregated at the front of the hotel.
we had to park at a bank around the corner from the hotel for the night
we had bought a bottle of wine and returned to the front desk at approx 11:45 pm and asked the man behind the front desk if the hotel might have a corkscrew we could borrow (most hotels do have one) the reply from the large sweathog of man was
" We don't sell wine, why would we have a corkscrew"?
The following morning upon checkout I wrote my name on a pc of paper and asked the front desk staffif it was possible that general manager could give me a call to hear some of my concerns. the staff took the info and told us that someone would give a call.
To this date I have not recieved a return phone call from anyone at this hotel

Hotel was clean, staff were not friendly but not rude. I felt it was expensive for the quality of the hotel. Looks much nicer online. It was very busy with events. I noticed the events that were going on were something that don’t match my morals and values. To each his own but I really felt uncomfortable because the conference rooms are right at the front door the different groups had tables in the entrance hallway with people and propaganda on full display. Would be nice if they weren’t allowed to have tables in the hallway as you walk in the door. I definitely will not spend my money at any IHG property ever again. Will also tell friends and family about the experience.

I stay in this particular property twice per month due to work and have been for a few months. This is the first time that I was assigned room 235 and my goodness the room cleanliness was undesirable. The room had cobwebs on the wall on top of the TV, there were small spiders on the corners of the walls. The bathroom floor had hair, the bathroom door crevices were filthy, the window sill looked like it had not seen a cleaning rag in months it was so dusty. The floor right next to the bed had a large piece of chocolate, which leaves me to believe that the bed cover was not lifted while vacuuming. I only noticed these things after I came back from dinner and it was late and I did not want to bother the staff with changing my room. But going forward I’ll be sure not to stay in that room in particular. As a previous housekeeper myself back in 1997-99, I was very disappointed to see the uncleanliness of this specific room. I’ve stayed in other rooms and it’s never like that. So not sure what happened.

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst IHG hotels I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot. They had no cards for you to help put your stuff in people were living there. It seem like staff was not around, and they don’t even have the basic some kind of breakfast everything looks locked up, so people don’t steal it. I just didn’t know where I went to. I would never come back.

Nestled in the natural wonder and breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains, Holiday Inn Express in Downtown Gatlinburg offers guests an opportunity to stop and smell the pine trees. From 6:30 am to 9:30 am, we offer complimentary hot and cold breakfast items in our lobby. After, splash around in our water feature and enjoy waterslides, a heated indoor pool and an interactive children's splash zone. We offer free Wi-Fi and parking. On select nights, guests are invited to join in our evening attractions.

This was our first time at this property. Unfortunately, it missed the mark on several accounts which caused us to cancel our reservation and move to the Holiday Inn Vacation Club next door. First impressions really mean a lot, especially since I used to manage an IHG property. Upon walking in, the lobby smelled strongly of chemicals and was not welcoming. Once we were checked in, the room we were assigned to as a Diamond Elite member was less than ideal. First floor, right next to housekeeping. Before even opening our door to our room, I noticed that the housekeepers were hanging out talking outside of their hub, our door key access RFID was missing the faceplate, and upon walking into the room, the room smelled very musty and weird. When I realized I couldn't open the window to air out the room, that's when I decided to cancel our room and move to the property next door who also happened to be an IHG property, but under different ownership-- and it showed!
