Horrible Room Experience

First room was not as advertised. Bathroom had mold crawling up on the ceiling. No soap in the dispenser for 2 nights of my stay. Requested soap at front desk but information was never shared with cleaning staff. Tub had rust and it appeared to not haven been properly maintained. If a health inspector had inspected they would have shut down that room on the spot.
After complaint for the third time, a manager comped one day off my stay.

My family and I have stayed here a few times over the years. This last visit will be our last. The place has become dirty and run down. The pool was out of order all 5 days we were there, I am a member but was never told when I booked. I have 2 autistic boys and were very disappointed. The halls smelled of mildew, there was trash under the bed. The shower was nasty, barely sprayed water. We never had room service, I had to ask for anything we needed, never cleaned or made the beds. The elevator was so creepy and banging around my boys refused to use it, did not feel safe! Never again!!

Close to local attractions and businesses, the Hotel Indigo® Chicago Vernon Hills hotel is perfect for any trip, business or pleasure. To put it plainly, our rooms are “huge,” each with its own sitting area, and our staff is passionate about providing each and every guest with personalized service. The nearby Cuneo Mansion and Gardens serve as inspiration for our hotel’s artwork, and the whole space evokes an upscale feel, with a front desk that occupies a two-story lobby: expansive, but not at all unwelcoming. The indoor heated pool is relaxing, and our martini bar serves up 25 special versions of the cocktail.

The hot water problems at this hotel cannot be repaired by a maintenance man. An engineered solution must be considered. It is obvious that there is no concern of guest experience and that profit is the only priority.

Visit for Wrestling Tournament

We have stayed at a couple different hotels in the area for wrestling tournaments. Decided to give this one a try. It will be the last. Hotel is severely in need of an update. Everything looks old and is nowhere near the standard of other Holiday Inn locations. Only one key is provided for each room. When asking for another (so we didn’t have to share), we were told none were available. Breakfast was awful looking. My teen boys who eat everything didn’t touch it. Would not stay here again and would not recommend. The Avid Hotel right down the street is another IHG property and is far better (newer, cleaner).

This is by far the worst hotel we've ever stayed at from the horrible service, having been moved to 3 different rooms throughout the weekend. Leaking toilet, no hot water, keypad not working on the door, having to wait all day before getting another room, having to wait at the front desk forever because Noone was there. Left a message upon check out for the manager to call but she never did

THE WORST IHG HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED!!!

This is without a doubt the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I am an IHG platinum member, and for the past eight years, I travel weekly for work. This hotel was dirty and in extreme disrepair. I am not sure how they have over 4 stars, but I guess that they are not real reviews and that they may have been submitted by friends of the staff or owner. The floor-length mirror was smeared with something sticky. Many of the light fixtures and several of the outlets did not work. The bathtub was filthy. There was peeling paint in the shower stall, and the showerhead was corroded. The light fixture in the bathroom was missing the cover, and there were two exposed fluorescent light bulbs, one of which was burning out. The curtains were torn. The iron was rusty and dirty on the bottom. The ironing board cover was old and dirty, but could not be changed because someone had bolted the iron holder to the top of the ironing board instead of the wall (you can't make this up. LOL. see picture). There was a wire for
an LED light fixture hanging from the frame of one of the pieces of furniture, but no place to plug it in.
There were only two hangers in the closet, one of which was broken. While this may seem trivial, the clock was an hour behind because it had not been changed for daylight saving time, which occurred 11 days prior. I use the iron, ironing board, and hangers every time I stay in a hotel as I am required to wear dress clothes for work, so I went to the front desk to ask for more hangers and explain the situation with the room. The manager on duty (who was very nice) said that it might be a problem to get more hangers, and she would probably have to take them from another room (seriously! LOL) and bring them to me. When she arrived at my room, I showed her all the things that were wrong. She apologized and said that they were having problems with some of the housekeeping staff. She took pictures of everything, as did I, and said she would let the General Manager know and that they would be contacting me. It has been over a week and I still have not heard from anyone. My coworker had similar issues with their room, and the manager on duty also came and took pictures of their room. Not once were either of us offered another room, probably because they all look like that. My coworker called a few days later and said the manager he spoke with was very rude to him. I never write reviews, but feel it is important to warn other travelers and IHG corporate of the poor standards at this hotel. This is brand-damaging, and I am not sure what measures IHG takes to ensure that their franchisees are adhering to brand standards, but someone is definitely dropping the ball in this area. I will be writing reviews on all of the travel sites and submitting the pictures along with many more (unfortunately, this review site would only let me upload six). If you are traveling to London Kentucky DO NOT STAY HERE! Even if your and IHG member it's not worth the points and their are nicer hotels in the area that some of our other coworkers booked.

Lacking in both customer service and amenities

Attention to details is limited. Welcome Amenity Points still not received for Diamond Elite status after checking out 3 days ago. Hot breakfast items, including coffee and food items, were empty by 7:15 am and not able to be replenished in a timely way for a business customer to leave by 7:35 am. Customer service of hotel staff lacking if questions asked.

Will Never Stay Here Again

This place is awful. There are plenty of better hotels in the area. The manager doesn’t return phone calls and they will hold funds from you bank about even if you paid the invoice for up to 10 business days. Terrible customer service. Marriot’s are way better.

Bed Bugs at Staybridge Suites Montgomery Alabama

STAYBRIDGE SUITES MONTGOMERY ALABAMA IS A BEDBUG HOTEL ! My name is Mike Dominy, (936) 676-4931
On November 21st through 24th I was bitten by bedbugs. After checking out I went to a dermatologist to find out what all the red itching bumps were that i had gotten on me while i was staying in the hotel. I didn't realize it was bedbugs.
The doctor diagnosed me as having been assaulted by bedbugs. I called hotel immediately and told them they had bedbugs in room 331 and to exterminate room 331 that I stayed in. I told hotel staff not to rent that room out to anybody else until after exterminating it. The doctor took a biopsy from one of the bites on my arm and sent it to the lab , her diagnosis was confirmed. It was bedbugs!!! I have tried to get the hotel to refund my money $951.70 back to me for my stay there, but they won’t even talk to me. Not to mention the $1861.61 I spent getting diagnosed and treatment for the bed bugs. The bites were very painful. I guess i will have to take them to small claims court in order to get them to take any responsibility. How many people think they should at least refund the money I spent staying there?!?
