Hotel looked great but not worth the price.

Definitely would not use this hotel again. Room smelled bad and the room was dirty. Had hair in the bedding and lighting was very poor. There was no close parking and seemed like you had to pay for valet parking which was over priced for what you get.

Poor service

Housekeeping was not as expected. We had a room for 5 nights and trash wasn’t removed from room. We had to request fresh towels daily. We have always had good experiences with Holiday Inn and feel like this experience was unique to this location.

Overall stay experience

Overall a bad IHG experience. There were no services available at this location however IHG took the booking fully aware of the situation. There seems to be an electrical issue, there is no aircon and no lighting at all in the elevators, finding your floor number button was nearly impossible. There are no bar or food services, the bar is closed due to the location not having a liquor licence, there is no food available for dinner or breakfast despite the room rate including breakfast. On querying the issues I received an apology and the lack of breakfast service was put down to a family emergency and offered assurances the service would be available tomorrow, however no there was no service and when I questioned the second time I was told “I don’t know who told you there would be breakfast today”?
There are huge issues at this location which should in all honesty be closed until these issues are addressed or at least IHG have the honesty to make guests aware at time of booking and reduce the room rate to reflect. Very poor IHG that customers are not being made aware yet you continue to accept bookings, also there appeared to be no management presence the guest services representative was indifferent and had clearly got so used to complaints she had the apology off pat, sort it out IHG.

Not the best from IHG

We had problems with the staff not being helpful and not available to contact. Our toilet in the room was not working properly. The bed hurt both of our backs. We really expected better from this location.

A quiet hotel near Shrewsbury with Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast included.
Holiday Inn Express® Shrewsbury hotel is a 45-minute drive from Birmingham International Airport and 10 minutes from Shrewsbury's historic centre .

Terrible

One of the worst hotels i have stayed in. I have stayed in lots of the holiday inns around the country and this is by far the worst. Very dated and run down even the staff look totally fed up with the place. Noone smiled or wished you a good stay. You were made to feel a pain if you asked for anything that should have been already available.

Great service but not the best property

The staff were great and very friendly but the hotel is rundown and needs an update. We were charged an amenity fee for the hotel having a pool, bar/restaurant, parking, etc. which is normally part of the price of your stay. It's like charging someone for your room having a bed and pillows.
The hotel does have a bar/restaurant the we had dinner in. A basic menu but the food was good.
We didn't use the pool but it seemed nice but a bit again, rundown.

False Advertisement this Place is Gross

The rooms smelled of blood in the restroom, the tile floor was disgusting, and someone's hair was left in the room. One family member woke up with a rash on their skin; the towels were yellow. The hotel will not provide a refund for the horrible false advertisement of rooms, and hotel.com has horrible customer service as well.

Great people & horrible rooms

Really great people that work there but facilities are horrible. Super dirty and loud (air conditioner and heater kept going in and off and was really loud and disturbing). Shower head was gross, toilet kept running, beds weren’t made the second day.

Worst Experience

It was my worst experience staying at Holiday Inn at Aero City, New Delhi. Though I'm a Diamond elite member, I was not given a room upgrade. Only after making a request the reception manager shifted me to a junior suite room. The room was full of mosquitos. I made my first request at around 8.15 PM to provide mosquito repellant in the room. Till 10.30 PM nobody turned up. After making two more requests an attendant came and installed a mosquito repellant. But it was not adequate for the big room and I had to suffer for the rest of the night.
I slept around 11 PM and got up early in the morning. then I found a WhatsApp message from the duty manger sent at 11.35 PM that my car was damaged during the parking. I rushed to the reception and found that my Toyota Camry car (Valet Number 312039) which was handed over to the valet for parking was badly damaged. Apparently the valet driver hit a post and damaged the car. I received a customary apology from the duty manager Gaurav Singh with the assurance that the cost of repair/service will be reimbursed by the hotel. After I completed the repair I sent the invoice my WhatsApp to the duty manager on 29 March. However, despite several follow up the amount has not been transferred to my bank account. I request the management to look into this matter and share the video footage where the driver hit the post to damage my car. Also ask the Dm to reimburse the repair charges ASAP.
