Richmond, VA All Suite Hotel
Situated on the south side of the River City, the Candlewood Suites® Richmond - South hotel provides a convenient location just 6 miles from downtown and right off I-95. We are an all-suite property, offering studios and one bedroom suites. Each suite is equipped with a full kitchen that includes full size refrigerator, dishwasher, two burner stovetop, microwave and dishes. Also enjoy a plush recliner when you settle in for the night.
Leisure travelers will want to visit Belle Isle at the James River and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. There is plenty of shopping to keep you busy at Chesterfield Towne Center, Short Pump and Stony Pointe. Hang out with the family outside at our gazebo and two gas grills .
Richmond is home to several major companies, including Philip Morris, Amazon, Honeywell and Dupont, all of which are just a short drive away. With convenient access to I-95, I-64 and I-895, you can spend more time in meetings with the quick commute to our Richmond, VA hotel.
Whether you visit for a night or an extended stay, you'll find free Wi-Fi means you can easily stay connected and since we're pet-friendly , you won't have to leave your companion at home. Horrible experience

I stayed at the Candlewood Suites in Richmond Va on May 21, 2021 for one night. I used a free night from my Chase credit card with IHG for the stay. I have been an IHG member for several years, and I am a vacation club owner. I never had an issue with any Holiday Inn where I have stayed. But, the Candlewwod Suites was horrible!! It was dirty, and the carpets in the hallways were stained and ripped. They looked like they had not been cleaned in years. Our room
was a nightmare and just as dirty as the rest of the hotel. We asked for a non-smoking room and found cigarette butts on the floor. The room reeked of smoke. The bed linens looked like they had not been changed from the previous guest.
The carpet was disgustingly dirty.The desk clerk was kind enough to give us a different room that was cleaner and only smelled a little of smoke. I am so sorry I wasted my free night on this hotel. I’m telling you this story because something should be done about this hotel so it doesn’t ruin the IHG brand. I would also like my free night back. Thank you.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Stay

I was very disappointed with my stay at Crowne Plazza. The shuttle service to and from the airport was unreliable and I waited almost 2 hours for a pickup. The Crowne plaze website and telephone recording said there is a restraurant on premise, but unfortunately they do not mention it is closed due to Covid.

Very unhappy

Broken elevators, broken air conditioning guest room flooding. Room not cleaned. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone it was completely disappointing. My daughter had a wedding block held at this hotel and the accommodations we’re completely disappointing. My mother-in-law who is handicapped was in a room that had no handicap capped accommodations. The air conditioning was broken or ineffective and in many of my guest rooms. They were offered no compensation or reimbursement for their discomfort. The entire hotel was without an elevator and no one was offered compensation for this inconvenience. The staff was very unconcerned with our well-being and our comfort. Overall a very ridiculous stay.

No Shuttle service from Airport like stated at IHG website

I booked this hotel because it had shuttle service from the airport. I called on arrival and was told the shuttle van blew a transmission and was no going to be fixed. No one offered to come pick me up. Just told me i would have to figure out how to get there myself.

Too little for the cost

For the cost of this hotel, we expected a higher quality of room maintenance and repair. The bathroom showed water damage around the shower and sloppy repairs. But most disappointing was the breakfast. To offer only muffins and coffee was completely unacceptable at this cost. We understand the issue with civid restrictions, but other hotels (some costing less) still offer a better breakfast with a variety.

Needs routine maintenance

I normally really enjoy the indigo brand. Location was chosen out of proximity to event. Staff is friendly. However the room was quite disappointing. Rather small size no second chair for another person and only chair was desk rolling chair. The headboard had been torn up and needed replacing. The bathroom faucet had a handle pointed 90 degrees wrong way this results from changing a washer cartridge and not caring about pointing it correctly so handles align. The toilet leaked and room could use some paint. In covid era I understand on demand housekeeping but stock room with towels for the length of stay and enough soap if u don’t want to clean the room. Overall my first disappointing stay in a indigo brand hotel.

The room cleanliness was fine. The pillows are junk as are the bathroom towels which are not enough for a family of four. And the breakfast is a cheap joke. Bring back the Cinnabons. I choose this hotel initially because of the breakfast which in the past has been a good value,... now it’s not worth staying there at all.
