Welcome to avid hotel in Tulsa Hills. Located on Hwy 75 and 81st Street, our hotel is 15 miles from Tulsa International Airport and historic Downtown. Only 10 minutes away from Tulsa Hills Shopping Center, Turkey Mountain, Jenks Aquarium or River Spirit Casino, the hotel is conveniently located whether traveling for business or leisure. We are close to great local restaurants and entertainment options such as Main Event, Gathering Place, Texas Roadhouse, Abuelos, La Madeline, and Sugar Llamas.
If you are here on business, avid hotel Tulsa Hills is central to Gateway Mortgage, Olympia Medical Park, and the soon to be Transformation Church with convenient access from Highway 75.

Refrigerator malfunction

I had placed my Dr Pepper in the refrigerator. When I got my Dr Pepper out to take my night medicine, the Dr Pepper exploded into my eye so forcefully. It’s been a rough stay having to deal with can exploding in my face because the refrigerator was set too high by the staff That it exploded. They had to change my room because this Dr Pepper just covered the walls in the bed and all my clothes were soaked in Dr Pepper and I was soaked head to toe sticky floors.

Unprofessional housekeeping staff

Stayed here for 2 nights and asked for no housekeeping, but my room still got cleaned the next day. Asked for late check out but a staff knocked on my door before my requested checkout time. I told him I asked the front desk for a late checkout, then he walked away. A few minutes later he came back with another lady knocked on my door again and asked if I want to extend my stay. Once again, I told them I got a late checkout, but they just walked away without any apology. The staff need to be more polite even for the housekeeping staff, and please ensure they have good communication with the front desk before ruining the guests’ day.

Overbooked and construction

Booked early, at check in we were told the room was unavailable. Double beds were needed. They offered a suite. Pull out couch mattress was awful. Tub in the bathroom didn’t work. Turning the handles caused water to sprayed around out everywhere. Construction was going on within the hotel. Front desk made no effort to apologize for any of it

$250 smoking fee for a non smoker

I am a non-smoker no smoking was taking place in the room. I was charged $250 for a smoking fee. Room smelled moldy and musty when I entered. Didn't smell like smoke when I entered didn't smell like smoke when I left. Stay away from this hotel at all costs. It may just cost you $250 more per night to stay here

Poor Management. Stay away.

My wife and I booked a 2 night stay and a few hours into the first night the hotel lost electrical power. The back up generators didn't work. There was no heating or cooling, no lights, no hot water, no elevators and it was very dark in the building. The phones didn't work and their computer system was down. The hotel became uncomfortable and dangerous to stay there. We had to wait for the sun to come up to have enough light to exit the building, UNDER THE CURRENT CONDITIONS IT WAS A CODE VIOLATION TO HAVE GUEST THERE.
After packing up our belongings and navigating down dark hallways and stairs to get to the front desk. We told him we were checking out. As we exited the building the manager said we would receive a refund. He of course couldn't check us out or refund our money then because the computers were down. He would do the refund when the computers came back up. My wife heard him tell another guest that he wasn't prepared for the power outage and that's why the generator didn't come on.
I did contact Holiday Inn Express's national support but they don't have my billing information to give a refund but I should receive one but the hotel manager (Varroon) would have to do that since he has my billing information.
Needless to say the manager is now denying me my refund and denying that he said he would give a refund, Which is a lie on his part. Giving a refund under those conditions is like a no brainer.

Poor service

When I checked out, the reception said the printer issue and will email me the bill. But I never received the bill and only received the hotel request for the high evaluation rating. I found my credit card was charged more money than resevation amount. I have to send email and ask the bill and the reason. The hotel didn't explain any reason for additional charging and only email the bill. From the bill, only room and tax is there. Nobody explained why the price is different from reservation. This hotel service is really poor.

Our room smelled of dirty socks. Had to unplug lamps and coffee maker to have a way to charge cell phones. The shower head kept moving flooding the bathroom. No breakfast until 7am seriously people need breakfast earlier. No front desk manager until 9am. Not a good experience.

If you expect a quiet stay, don’t stay here

We had guests above us that were stomping the entire time after they checked in kids were running back-and-forth and it was so loud we couldn’t hear the TV. The front desk asked them to stop stomping and continuously. The staff did not respect my status with IHG.

The suite level in G smelt like smoke and weed.
A dead bug was in the freezer.
Fridge did not work.
The walls are thin so you can hear everything your neighbors are doing.
My hotel key kept disabling.
