Could have been better

Poor service and stay this time. WiFi was not working upon arrival because of windstorm but when available was very poor in the room. Strength was poor and it would often disconnect. Shuttle service outside of normal hours, which ends at 3:00pm was terrible. Waited 80 minutes for ride to airport at 6:00pm. When shuttle did arrive, driver left because it was his lunch break. Somewhat understandable but there wasn’t another driver available and the hotel ended up having to call neighboring hotel for shuttle. Other hotel amenities are as expected. Housekeeping was good and daily. No floor lamp in the one-bedroom suite.

Nothing works

No hot water for the showers or sink, was told the pool was heated by front desk when it definitely is not. Very rude staff, breakfast was nasty. The shade on my room was broken. I wanted 2 extra hours to check in because the front desk told me it would take that long to get 2 rooms on the same floor. Came back and they indexe didn't get them on the sa.e floor and said too bad.

Disappointing. Won't Stay Again.

Very disappointing stay. Booked a corner room, yet had a dark dingy room with one window, where any view or light was blocked by a tree in front of it. Paid extra for a specific room type but did not get it. Was not offered welcome points when checking in. I mentioned this while checking out. The staff member said they would be sure I got the points. I never did, and the hotel has ignored my emails following up on the missing points. A housekeeper walked into my room even though I had the do not disturb sign up. Then just before noon another staff member came to my door to ask if I was checking out. My reservation details stated that checkout was at noon. Maybe staff think it is 11 AM, otherwise I am not sure why they kept bugging me. Hotel is below street level at busy noisy intersection, so count on a noisy stay. I will not be back.

Horrible customer service

Payed for spa tube room suit and hotel didn’t even have any. Pool was contaminated and we were unable to use. Kids knocking on door and running, and prank calling the room phone. Told employee and problem was not resolved.

Terrible Housekeeping and Weak Wifi

Came to visit middle of nowhere Alabama and IHG is the only option for large chain hotel in the 20-30 mile radius. Otherwise, you're stuck with motels.
With that said, its your run of the mill holiday day inn express (not renovated).
Wifi is slow - would not recommend if you need to rely on it for meetings etc. Youtube had to buffer, I ended up using my hotspot for most of it.

-told them to come back when they knocked- they never did. couldn't find anyone, so I asked the housekeeping lady on the first floor, who said that's not her floor but she will service my room for me.

-I noticed housekeeping never came to my room so I went downstairs to the front desk who then told ME to talk to the housekeepers directly. Isn't that your job? I went and spoke with the housekeeper and she said she would. All she did was give me extra towels. No service was provided. Again, they sent the first floor lady to help assist with my room
-On day of check out, housekeeping knocked on my door 3 times before noon. 8:30am, 10am, and 11:30am. What about nooncheck out do you not understand?
Not to mention, the housekeeping ladies on the 3rd floor blast rap music on speakerphone and occasionally youtube videos for the whole floor to hear especially when you already thin walls.
Awful experience. Average stay. Would not recommend unless you have to be in the area. Plenty of restaurant options in the area.

Holiday Inn - Downtown Raleigh NC
Overall, this hotel should be torn down. It was renovated to the standard of “lipstick on a pig” .
We stayed in 2 rooms for one night 1-2 May 2025 at a final rate of over 200.00 per night per room.
We arrived at the hotel, to encounter a round 1970s building who shows her age and is pleading for a complete lift (or a wrecking ball). The parking is isolated and would be especially uncomfortable if traveling alone.
In the lobby we were greeted by a dingy space that presents a more than slightly malodorous aroma. The lobby restroom is done in the style of early frat house; it was filthy and unusable.

There are 2 elevators to service the 20 (approx)story hotel and one elevator was broken. The working elevator was filthy with floor tile that was broken cracked and debris on the floor and also malodorous. As the hotel elevator opened at our floor, we stepped out into a hallway that beckoned a scene out of a dystopian novel, dark and cavernous, raising concern for what might lie ahead. We should have turned back!
The rooms were partially cosmetically renovated, but it also had a cracked, peeling popcorn ceiling, mold in some corners. A few things were decently updated (the lipstick)but it was too little to tip the scales to an acceptable hotel. The bathroom is a terrible design. It’s very tight not suitable for anyone with the slightest mobility problem and there is no exhaust fan. There was no hot water in our room on the evening of 1 Mar. The old vinyl tub is stained and holes were patched poorly. Replace that vinyl tub! The drywall that had been wet previously and wallpapered over to conceal it. At least hot water was available in the morning, thank goodness.

Management communication and staying ahead of problems is terrible. The smell I. The room made the kids miserable, overbooking the hotel should not be the guests problem who made reservations, construction and closure of amenities should be disclosed before booking. Cleaning staff and people serving breakfast were fantastic.

3 Strikes and you’re out

This is my 3rd stay here in the past 2 months and the 3rd time I was not given my welcome points. The last 2 times I was able to have them added at a later date, but I’m tired of being told they will be added at check in and then not. The bed was uncomfortable and the night desk guy who was there when I checked out at 5:30 in the morning was rude and acted like he was doing me a favor when I asked for my receipt. I will not stay there again. 3 strikes and you’re out. It’s unfortunate because this is about 15 miles from a job site I frequent. I’d rather stay somewhere else and be treated like the member status I have earned staying at Holiday Inns for the past several years on a weekly basis.

We arrived at 8:30-9pm and were immediately greeted with pot smell and cigarette smoke. We still checked in because it was too late to get a refund. First thing I noticed were a ton of kids running around. There’s a pool, I get it. I asked to be placed in an area where there wasn’t a lot of kids because we needed a good night sleep because we had a tournament the next day. Krystal (who was great) placed us on a different hall than what was originally booked for us. We went up to our room and were immediately hit with loud music, loud voices, kids running in the halls and food on the hallway floor. I went back downstairs and reported this and Krystal apologized and said she was on her way up to talk to them because another guest had already complained. She moved us to another floor which ended up being quiet. The only issue with that room was that there wasn’t really any hot water in the shower and no hair dryer in the bathroom. We got up in the morning and went down for the hot breakfast, which was supposed to be until 10:30am. It was 9:30 when we got down there and were told they weren’t cooking anything else (all the hot trays were empty) and that we had to eat what was out. All that was out were bread for toast and bagels. What a disappointment. We booked this hotel for the hot breakfast and yet we didn’t get it.
