Way below expectations

I'm sorry to say this, but this is the first time I have stayed with an IHG Hotel and had a poor experience. This is a cheap motel at best, not a $230,00 per night hotel. This makes me hesitant to book again somewhere I haven't stayed previously. I want to trust that your network has some higher standards. This place had no elevator. Not a good representation of your brand. Disappointing. You asked!

The worst hotel I have ever been they wrote in that website that they have air conditioning and when I arrived, they informed me that they don’t have AC and the room was boiling and they called the reception and they said they cannot turn on the AC for I don’t know what reason I told them I have a difficulty with sleeping in a hot room because I have a disease that I cannot sleep with any noises and with heat Because my nerves system has some damages so if the room is hot, I cannot sleep at all and they couldn’t sleep and they had to move to other hotel that they have air-conditioning to sleep and they lost money over nothing and the ship receptionist was very rude. She was a lady young lady And she said at the beginning that I don’t have a reservation, but when I showed her that I do have a reservation she said it’s not gonna be today. It’s gonna be tomorrow. I told her no it’s gonna be today but she kept arguing until I showed her again and I told her if you don’t let me into the room I will call IHG and they will inform them and you will be fired And she realize that I’m serious and she checked me in immediately without asking for anything.
At the end, it’s gonna be my last day in that hotel and they will not recommend it and they wrote in Google. It’s the worst hotel in Milan ever and I wanna claim my money and my points also specially I’m a silver member.

Disappointing

The property had no hot water (showers, pool, hot tub, etc). We were a party of 7 traveling from Oregon, this was the 1st stop of two on the way south, this property was selected because it had a pool and would help breakup the travel for the kids. We booked weeks in advance, the property had issues with the water at least 1 day prior to our arrival and were not notified. Had we been notified we would have selected a different hotel for our stay

We had no hot water in sink the whole time we were there. Never came to fix it. Employees talking crazy to children. Gave keys out to people who weren’t staying in our room! That could have been a very dangerous situation or we could have been robbed!

Poor service, inoperable amenities and a smelly bathroom :(

Customer service is not a strongpoint at this hotel. We expected more as an hotel under the IHG umbrella, and as silver members. On the day we arrived we paid for early check in even though it was only a couple hours because we were so tired from our international flights. We ordered room service and it took almost 1.5hrs to arrive with no apology, after three phone calls asking where our meals were. Had we known that it would take so unreasonably long, we would have waited to check in and gone out to eat instead of paying for early check in and terribly overpriced and underwhelming room service. Also, at this time they only brought two sets of silverware for 4 meals. Didn’t bother returning to provide the 2 missing sets so we had to share. Not a great start.
On a separate occasion, we called house keeping for towels because many times face towels were not provided or replenished and they just never turned up. If we saw the housekeeping staff outside with service cart and asked for things, the lady would hand one of something and when my husband would explain we needed 4 (because we are a family of 4), the lady was rude and abrupt, eventually supplying what we needed but muttering under her breath. There was a sewer smell in the bathroom and the sink tap was hard to operate. The locked down handwash and moisturizer also made it difficult for our toddler to reach and wash hands without assistance which made our stay also impractical from this constraint.
A false fire alarm sounding at 540am on Saturday morning which awoke us in a panic and there was no communication to let us know there was no threat, it just suddenly stopped blaring with no apology. We went outside to check there was no smoke or evacuation.
Unfortunately, the outdoor pool was dirty and not well maintained. I was worried our family would get sick after swimming in there, and there are a lot of loose tiles all coming up from the pool floor. It’s a real pity because the space is very nice with a swim up bar and nice deck layout for relaxing. The spa was said to be fixed by March 13 but when we went to see about using it on the chilly evening of the 14th, were left disappointed. It was taped off with caution tape.
So overall, we wouldn’t stay here again. The workers done seem happy to be there doing their job and have sour faces. We don’t feel we got the value we paid for with lack of service and lack of quality we’d expect at an IHG property and Holiday Inn Suites & Resort hotel. Not to mention as silver elite members.

Upscale All Suite Hotel located in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio

Not a pet friendly hotel

Do not stay here if you have a dog. Both Staybridge suites (this one and the location near the airport) do not have safe or sufficient pet relief areas. After being charged $75+tax you feel that they should use the money they charge for pets to make a healthy area for them.
The beds are hard and pillows turn into paper when you lay on them.
Breakfast area was filthy and the juice machine was broke with water all over the ground.
We contacted the hotel management about the pet relief area specifically and they never responded. Telling me they don’t care about their guests or there IHG members.

This hotel was not a cheap option but was terribly taken care of. We infrequently received room service during our stay and had multiple occasions of ants in our bathroom.
We stayed for 6 nights total and contacted management multiple time with concerns. Each time it was put back on us and concerns were hesitantly addressed. When staying with an infant I expect that i will not have concerns about a hotel room being at least decently clean. I sure did here. Housekeeping was lazy and incredibly unprofessional. Management did not address concerns and ran an awful establishment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone even as a last resort.

Added Charge

We have stayed here a few times because of location. This time we had an added charge to our account. I checked out and the price was correct on the bill. When I checked our bank account it was MORE than the bill. This had NEVER happened before. I called the hotel and they said they had the right to put a hold on our account anywhere from $20-$200 additional fee. If the room was OK that we would get that charge refunded. This had never happened before. It's been over four days and the additional charge is still not in our account. NOT the way to do business.
