📍 “Good Location, But Not for Honeymooners or Comfort Seekers”

Lisbon was the first stop on our honeymoon, and we chose Holiday Inn Express Lisboa - Av. Liberdade for its location and convenience. While it delivers on cleanliness, efficiency, and practicality, it lacks warmth, comfort, and personal touches, making it better suited for business travelers or short stays rather than a romantic getaway or a family vacation.
If you're looking for a basic, no-frills hotel where you just need a place to sleep, this works. But if you want service, atmosphere, or thoughtful hospitality, this isn’t the place.
1. First Impressions & Check-in 🏨
✔ Prime Location – Right near Avenida da Liberdade, one of Lisbon’s main avenues. Public transport is nearby, but we found Bolt taxis much faster and cheaper.
✔ Fast & Efficient Check-in/Check-out – No delays, and staff were polite and professional.
🚫 No Early Check-in – We arrived early but had to store our luggage and wait until 2 PM.
🚫 Not Honeymoon-Friendly – No special acknowledgment, no welcome drink, no personalized touches—felt very standard.

✔ Hidden Gem Alert! 🥐 Pastelaria Coimbra Lda (right across the street) – Some of the BEST Pastel de Nata (Portuguese custard tarts) we had in Lisbon! Highly recommend grabbing some fresh in the morning.

A modern hotel five miles from Preston city centre, with free parking, free Wi-Fi and breakfast included

Return visit after bad stay experienced

I booked two rooms and on arrival had to report damage to both rooms I appreciate that repairs can only be carried out when rooms can be made available but inform the guests that there are issues as I have little confidence that if I had not informed staff that I might have been changed. No excuse was given to why the rooms had damaged items.

Poor “Remodel”

We chose to stay here because of our past experiences with IHG hotels. This was ONE of the worst stays ever. Upon getting to the elevator, we could see poor workmanship of a remodel. The room was worse. The thermometer on the wall did NOT work. Thankfully there was a ceiling fan. Until you turn it on! It sounded like it was about to take off! The fan swayed from side to side and even earbuds could not drown out the awful racket it made! The shower was lukewarm at its best. The walls of the shower had RED all down them, including shower slime. It looked like someone had been mudered and hastily cleaned up. Dead bugs were on the floor of the bathroom and I’m not sure it had been mopped in a long while.
You may ask, why on earth did you stay?? Well, after driving 4 hours and spending the day at an indoor amusement park, we just wanted a shower and a bed. So we stayed.
However, we will not stay again, nor will we recommend this hotel.
Why, you may ask did we not contact the front desk? After minimal contact of checking in and the inability of me to understand the young man, I opted to take a melatonin and pray for sleep. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have slept on in a long while. Which, unfortunately did not come easily.
From one until three in the morning, two men and a woman stood in a hallway somewhere near our room and discussed “opportunities” for the night. At one point, my husband wanted to go find them and just pay the woman, so they would shut up.
On a good note, the sheets did seem clean.
You may ask, why on earth did you stay?? Well, after driving 4 hours and spending the day at an indoor amusement park, we just wanted a shower and a bed. So we stayed.

Let our hotel in Temecula California be your preferred destination!
The Holiday Inn Express Temecula is a fantastic destination for anyone visiting the area. Located just off the 15 freeway, it's less than 6 miles from the beautiful Temecula Wine Country, where you can enjoy nearly 50 wineries nestled in the hills with friends, food, and of course, wine.
If you're looking for more to do, head down to historic Old Town Temecula, where you'll find unique shops, restaurants, and entertainment.
At the hotel, you'll enjoy free Wi-Fi, parking, and a hot breakfast. The fitness room is open 24 hours, and there's an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi where you can unwind after a long day. Each room is equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, TV, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board.

Hotel is Dirty

I want to start off by saying the staff was incredible. The hotel room was less than desired. The bath tub had wet towels when I walked in. Bath tub was broken in half and fixed with tape. Not sealed properly with water getting underneath. Black mold on the wall paper. Wall paper patch but looked moist underneath. Weights are locked up at the front desk. I am not carrying them or waiting for them at 5am before getting ready for work. Just would not recommend.

Should remove the Holiday Inn branding

This location is 40 years old and seems nothing has been updated. Poor AC, room furnishings, and bath are terrible. WiFi is pretty much non working unless you’re in the main lobby. They do NOT offer lobby coffee, but will sell you a $4 cup AFTER 6:30 am. They offer breakfast at $14 and is nothing more than powder scrambled eggs, a meat, and bread for toast. If you DO book a reservation, prepare for your daily bill to reflect whatever they deem that “rate of the day” and NOT what is reflected in your nightly rate reservation. (My daily rated went from 114 to 126) Forget about trying to budget a business trip. Parking is $18 per night, so plan that in your budget. The employees are great and aware of all the issues, but blame them on poor ownership not caring. This hotel wants to act and price like a 4-5 star, but offer 2 star at best. Just book somewhere else and enjoy all that Corpus has to offer

Horrible Experience but helpful staff

I have to give the staff kudos, as those I dealt with and encountered were great and tried to be helpful.
Now for the big BUT....having multiple police incidents where a "photo shoot" took place with pay to enter line ups for a room was not ideal when the majority of the hotel was booked out for a youth sporting event was far from ideal. No sleep due to not only the late night antics of other hotel goers (read photo shoots and additional domestic disturbances with police involvement) but once we could sleep, drilling and banging started in the early am hours and continued for hours! There was no sense of safety as the events causing the disturbances and fear were not shut down, and those causing them started coming to other rooms angrily accusing and intimidating patrons. If that was not enough, trying to get cars out of valet on the final day took over two hours!! We had to leave our vehicle, take an UBER to our event, and leave all of our luggage in an unsecured room with no tagging as we had been checked out. We then noted that we were also charged for an extra day of valet when we had been advised that would not be the case.
The staff tried to support folks, but it was an absolutely horrible experience. Completely atypical of my usual experiences with IHG hotels.

Not enough pillows

On this stay, we had a king bed with pull out sofa suite. My daughter and son in law were coming to stay on the pull out sofa. I asked for bedding at the front desk and was given a bedding set. Upon putting the bedding on the sofa bed, I discovered there were no pillows for the sofa bed. I went to the front desk and was told that there were no more pillows and that they didn't have a key to the housekeeping closet. They said I would have to share the extra pillows from the king size bed. I explained that I use 2 pillow and preferred not to share. I asked if they could get pillows from a different room and was told no that the hotel was full.
I have noticed that the large pot hole in the parking lot from last year has not been fixed and the escalator has been broken for over a year, with yellow caution tape around it. This place seems to be deteriorating. I have stayed here for 2 years but seriously considering changing over to a different hotel on Park Ave.
I have noticed that the large pot hole in the parking lot from last year has not been fixed and the escalator has been broken for over a year, with yellow caution tape around it. This place seems to be deteriorating. I have stayed here for 2 years but seriously considering changing over to a different hotel on Park Ave.

Does not stand up to Crowne Plaza's reputation

I've stayed at many Crowne Plaza's throughout my life and this one is more like a Motel 8 environment. We opted for this hotel because of its close location to the Convention center, so if you want to avoid traffic and be able to walk back and forth from the convention center then this hotel will do the job. The walk is easy, a straight walk on one road that's busy all hours of the day so we felt safe even though you'll see homeless people, but they tend to leave you alone. We drove 22hrs from out of state and arrived an hour early before check-in but the front desk would not allow me to check in until it was 3pm! The staff wasn't rude but wasn't welcoming neither. Needless to say, the line was already backed up with people waiting to check in and the front hotel staff was literally just standing around chit-chatting about their upcoming weekend plans waiting for the time to hit 3pm! Once I checked in, we found out that there is no free breakfast, unlike many of the other Crowne Plaza's I've stayed at, it was misleading when we booked it because it says breakfast available, but now make sure all hotels offers "free breakfast". There were 4 elevators but only 2 working elevators for guests as it seems the other 2 are for the employees, so be prepared to wait if there's quite a few guests already waiting! The elevators are small so you're lucky to get 4 people in with luggage! Parking didn't feel safe but luckily our car was fine for the 3 days we stayed. The room we stayed was well kept, didn't smell funky and updated to give a chic feel. The beds were comfortable and pillows felt nice. The bathroom, however was narrow and small! You can't shut the door unless you move to the side of the toilet and then shut it so if you're a bigger person, you'll feel confined in the bathroom. In all, if you're looking for a place to just sleep and walk to convention center, than this hotel will do that but if you want to feel safe and made to feel at home, this is not the place to be!

I enjoyed the breakfast provided. The breakfast area was clean. It included my favorite, bacon! The presentation of the room was warm and inviting.

Nice Hotel - Navigating acrross Boston a challange

This was my first stay.
1) I loved the free coffee in the AM in the lobby -- Huge
2) Bed - below average and limited bedding
3) Room upgrade was nice with a nice bathroom and soaking tub!
4) Location - GREAT for seaport location - esp children's museum.
5) Not ideal for older couples/adults -- lots of kids that overrun the pool area.
6) Nice Spa (didn't use, but cost was in line with local rates)
7) Food is minimal -- only one restaurant with a limited menu.
