Not up to Holiday Inn Standards

Over the past 30 or more years I have stayed at various Holiday Inn properties. I have learned to expect an above average hotel. This property is years past that standard, just run down. I like soft beds but this one was so soft there was no back support at all. The hall lighting was acting like strobe lights blinking on and off in the halls. Makes you worry about fires if they can’t figure that out. There were crumbs next to bed from the previous guest. What else was not clean? The front desk people were okay but the shuttle guys need social help.
I will continue to stay with Holiday Inn but not this property.

Very disappointed in this hotel. Staff not knowledgeable or helpful. Far away from everything. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Read the reviews. The elevator is an ongoing issue, yet they keep booking rooms.

Feedback Regarding My Recent Stay

Hello Jay Caiafa,
I recently stayed at your hotel for three nights, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Here are the key issues I encountered:
No Internet or TV Signal: There was no Wi-Fi or TV signal in my room for the entire stay, which made it very inconvenient.
Room Cleaning: My room was not cleaned during the stay, despite not having a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door.
Mattress Quality: The king mattress was sagging and clearly in need of replacement, making it uncomfortable to sleep.
Breakfast Service: On Monday morning at around 8:00 AM (a peak breakfast time), the breakfast area was poorly stocked—there was no milk, muffins, eggs, or sausages. Guests were visibly frustrated, with some even shouting at staff to replenish the items.
Overall, this was not the level of service I expected. I hope you will address these issues to improve the experience for future guests.

To loud!!! Kids are allowed to run around and yell as long as they want into the night. Doors slamming until 3am. I was told quiet time started at 10. It was 3 am before it was quiet enough to sleep. Multiple complaints made nothing done to resolve them. I even complained again when I checked out and was told with a smile “I’m sorry for all the noise”. How about people with kids be put on lower floors and adults without kids be put on top floors so we don’t have to hear them jumping and running half the night. Or better yet, how about the rules be reinforced!!!

Nice staff but rundown hotel

The entire hotel had a very bad smell walking through the hallways and lobby. The hallway carpets were very badly stained with bleach spots all over. The beds were comfortable thankfully. They gave us an adjoining room without notifying us, and the other tenant was blasting very loud rap music for hours. The staff was nice, both at check in and check out. But various things were stained/broken and just an overall character of neglect. Would not recommend unless they clean this place up.

Nice hotel but should not charge an amenity fee

This was a nice centrally located hotel. The rooms are small but that’s to be expected in New York City. My biggest complaint is the $25 amenity fee per day. There aren’t any amenities. They offer a $10 per day credit at the bar, but it has many limitations. The drinks are overpriced. We would have appreciated being able to use it for breakfast. And it should be cumulative on a multi night stay rather than “use it or lose it.” I have stayed at many IHG properties, and this stay was disappointing. I should not have to pay an amenity fee for WIFI.

Cockroach found in room!!!!

Our girls soccer team made reservations to stay at this hotel for a weekend of games in the area. Our room had a cockroach bug that was found. (When I lifted up my jeans off the floor it came out and was crawling to get under the bed) We notified the front desk we had found and killed the bug. They advised us to pack up and get out of the room and watch to see if other cockroaches came out of hiding because they typically will come to eat it the dead one. (Not even exaggerating this is what they said exactly) They told us to come down to the lobby and wait and they would send someone up to the room once we were out to identify the bug. This all happened before our normal checkout would have happened.
Shortly after we were told to evacuate our room, the Fire Alarm went off. Water was coming out of the ceiling and down the hallways. The employees were screaming to get out and not touch the water as it was coming from the electrical room and we could die of electrical shock.
We called the next day to inquire about a possibly refund for the bug and the water damage, we were told NO, not even 50% off the room.
We will never stay at a Holiday Inn again, and we will be notifying our soccer club to never use this hotel as an option to stay in.

Not up to IHG standards

To start with the price was ridiculous for this small town. Second, the last thing you want to see is a roach running beside your bed. The tv changer only works if you walk to tv and use the changer about 10 inches from tv. And last but not least, when we were having breakfast, the breakfast worker opened up a sleeve of coffee cups, which all fell and rolled across the floor. Wouldn’t you expect them to be tossed? Nope they were put out for people to use. I then stated wondering how clean the food I was eating was!
